  1. I dont mind body armor, but I live in Scania ;) wich means maybe 3 months of "good" weather with 20+ celsius and rest is around 10-15C and rain rain rain and wiiind... so the body armour gives extra warm and wind protection :D

but many hate it ofcourse, guess its a question of personal preference and liking.

Scania is a part of Denmark that has been given away to Sweden during a peace talk 300 years ago or so, because sweden had concered the country before the peace talk. so Scania is danish territory occupied by Swedish goverment for 300 years tongue.gif . and there is always nagging between "bloody swedes" and "bloody danes" (scanians that is) so I always likes to point out im scanian and not swedish ;)

for more info about us: http://www.scania.org/

(and yes, the truck company Scania has its name after our region )

  2. Nox: it helps against internal fragments from hits on the vehicle.

I was learned to have my ass flap folded out when sitting as gunner on the PBV302 to help protect from fragments from mine detonations.

I quickly abonded that idea when i noticed that ass flap catch the radio antenna and sending it right between my leg when the officers in the back was transmitting :I

Same with our Leopard guys, exept a few crews who was to lazy and just sat in shirt and kevlar on the CVC off.

but thats peacetime, have the feeling they would bother to wear the cevlar and body armour if we ever would go into war tongue.gif

  3. ive seen the same with Bradleys 25mm... hitting same lone tree time after time... you think that after a little burst that poor small tree should just be a stump and the LOS would be clear. But instead 2 out of 3 rounds impact on that tree and only 1 out of 3 actually find its target...

In reallity a quick burst from a MG would cut down the tree (talking 20cm and smaller here), done it for own pleasure a few times, both 7.62 MG and 20mm autocannon.

so someone should really take a look on those titaniumtrees...

  4. Jessus ****ing christ....

    M1A1: Nice work! I like it! smile.gif

Gibson: WTF man???? You as a officer should know that you take what you got and work with it, and the fact that M1A1 who is an american takes the time and effort to skin an aussie skin to a US soldier should be a ...... honour for you!

I skin for the game Steelbeast (sure you have played the ANZAC version right?) and I do allot of Swedish and British skins on the vehicles we have in the game to get a more correct feeling when playing. I dont asume the vehicle will behave different when I gaved it a new camo, its just for me eyes to have something different to look at and something familiar for me.

Skinning isnt the easiest thing to do, and getting the motivation "your skin isnt wanted!" is the last motivation you need, constructive critics like "our Steyrs are green, not black, can you change the M4 colour atleast?" are betther if you want to nag nag nag...

A skin is made with love and the idea that its for anyone to use or not use after their own feelin (I dont ewen use a few of the skins ive done myself anymore) and its up to the players to decide wich skins they want, but just because they dont want a certain skin doesnt mean they start screaming about it like you do!

Remember, Skins is for the EYE, not performance of a certain unit.

IMO opinion you should start helping M1A1 getting it as correct as he could get it instead of just djumping at him!

  5. M1A1tankcommander:

Ofcourse not, your are a crewmember so you dont have anything else then ironsight (dont need anything else, you are supposed to use it only in emergency, a clumpsy optic sight is just in the way in a armoured vehicle). But look at the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and tell me if you see anyone who actually use ironsight (fighting troops, not clerks)

So Hev is right here actually.

    cheers!

  6. M1A1TC, hes asking about the M2/M3 bradley, for them it will depend on situation, they just cant load a 120mm SABOT sa someone can ;)

If T72 pointing your way: Pop smoke, reverse fast as hell to cover, regroup and flank.

if T72 facing other direction, get the TOW up, in emergency the 25mm bushmaster can in some places of the T72 side take out the T72, so go charging on the t72 with bushmaster can work to, but a bit risky if you dont get a decisive kill before they turn their turret.

Up to situation, for a CV90 it would be to take it out if its under 1km but if it is showing you the front it will smoke and pull back and call up the strv 122.

  7. there is a ATGM version for the CV90, it has 2 BILL2 mounted on the side of the turret and own sight for it.

But we dont use it as we dont need ATGMs on our IFVs, the 40mm does a damn good jobb of any MTB in side aspect and rear aspect and our battalion have 2 mech coys of CV90 and 2 tank coys of strv122 that are working tightly together (we form battlegroups of 1 tank and 1 CV90 with one squad and then they work together)

  8. Cool, thanks M1A1TC and Huntarr!

moment 22, call it "Modding" but you are only allowed to skin it, not modd it? hehehe tongue.gif

Im pleased with skining only, dont have to mod stuff at all.

Its not like CMSF needs any skining really, but it could be nice to add some own skins that you like, so the strykers have desert colour or whatever you like (im thinking of repainting the stryker into a swedish wheeled APC called Patgb 203)

But coming in 1.05, thats nice to see smile.gif
