  1. It could be done realisticaly. And why not? Russian pilots flew against US pilots in Korea, Spetz-Naz was lurking about in Vietnam testing out the SVD rifle in combat conditions, in 1991 Russian military advisors narrowly missed getting mixed up in operation Desert Storm. And then there are the case of US and EU "advisors" mucking about in Vietnam, The Balkins, South America, and Afganistan. Like how CM divided up sides by nations and then force types (Infantry, Armor, Mech, ect.) A "Russian Advisor" Nationality tab would not be out of place on the Syrian side. The force mix would be mostly infantry armed with High tech Russian toys and local 4X4 vehicles. Kind of hard to smuggle a T-90 in diplomatic bags. Heck, for the purists, just add on a "Allow Foreign Advisors" switch for quick battles.
  2. Had A weird bug with the "Cross Roads" mission. Three tries with 3 different bugs. 1st time - I sight the enemy convoy (Hall this trucking convoy across the USA...) And started to pump 125mm heat rounds into the Lead T-55. 6 hits later it turns and one hit kills me! After mission breif showed 6 solid hits. 3 on the front turret, 2 on the side hull, and one in the side engine compartment. That was one tough T-55...a little too tough. 2nd time - Same as the first. Only T-55 gets away. So I shoot at the civilian truck with AP for a while till a T-55 out of nowhere pops me. After action shows a far off BRDM2 as the killer of my T-72. 3rd time - Got to my nice ambush spot on Serb side (other side of river is full of RPG teams and other nasty things.) of the river. Killed T-55 with 2 heat rounds. Get updated objective to move out. I take an extra 10 seconds to pop a heat round into the civilian truck. Hitting it results in an instant mission failed. Just finished the Cemetary mission farther on in the campaign, and have yet to encounter any bugs like this.
  3. I think I figured it out. Your tank has to start moving at the same time as the attach units. I issued orders while in commanders postion and then switching to map mode. Worked perfect. Then just hop to the drivers seat and make him hault. A bit annoying as to have to repeat the above each time you issue a new way point. Another item for the patch list. As have your tank lurch about while issueing orders is not a good idea on the battlefield.
  4. Oops, my mistake, 1/2 way anyway. T-55 and T-62 do have human loaders. But it says here in my old M1 Tank Platoon Book (sourced from Janes defence) that the T-55/54 and T-62 still needed to set the turret direction and gun elevation to a specific setting to reload because of very cramped crew conditions. However, maybe those traits have been worked out in later models like the T-55AM2 or fixed with foreign upgrade kits.
  5. "Less internal volume needed, thus less weight and smaller target. You need to train less men as well per company, which saves costs." The auto-loader is what allows the T-55 to T-80 series and beyond its low sleek shape. Soviet era tanks did have a nice low profile and cross country preformance and sleek shape thanks to the removal of the 4th crewman. However, there were issues. The T-55 should have return the turret and gun to the 0 degree mark before relaoding. The test models of the T-64 exploded at random thanks to the autoloader miss-loading the rounds and jamming them nose first into the interior turret. Even in the game, you lose the use of the coax in the T-72 each time the main gun reloads. That's what makes this game so interesting. Throwing so many different tanks built with various design theories makes for some interesting game play.
  6. Found this question in a forum search as I have run into the same problem. I just bought the game (Soviet hardware fan that I am). I like the style, but she really needs some code tightened up. Anyway, I too can not get attached units to move. I know they are attached because: (Taken from single mission "Revenge") A. The Breifing said so. B. They will respond to one command, "Take Defensive postions" at which point they scattered to the 4 winds and my BRDM-2 flipped itself. Any attempt at issuing movement orders results in either nothing or only my tank moving to the chosen location. I know being in the driver's seat prevents map orders to my tank, but does it block everyone else's too? Is there a key click or mouse button command needed that is not listed in the manual?
