  1. Gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Combat Mission:Combat for Normandy has become one of the 13 supported ladders at http://www.theblitz.org/

I'll give you some rough numbers about our CM1 community just so you know what to expect :)

-Our CM1 forum has generated no less than 11800 threads and 67700 threads along the years.I believe that would make us second only to Battlefront's own forums.

-We have more than 1600 members who reported at least a game on the CM1 ladder. Our top ranking member has reported no less than 887 games.

-There are 1726 CM1 scenarios in our database.

You are all welcomed to join it-if you haven't done it already! ;)

    Cheers,

    Raz.

  2. Could you tell me what scenario or QB map this might be? I'm having a heck of a time trying to recreate the problem. The building's behaving itself on my little test map. It might be map-specific or (even stranger) map-running-on-a-mac specific.

The map is Meet Small Village QB-085

I tested in the editor and it displays the same behavior: los through the windowless wall,no los through the correct wall.

Below is a screenshot with the position of the house on the map,so you can quickly locate it.

  3. Absolutely. No windows no LOS. Guys will only shoot out of windows as well. They typically gravitate to windows but this isn't guaranteed.

Hope your PBEM partner doesn't recognise that building full of blind troopers from your post.

That's the puzzling part as i was under the same impression :) However,my guys have los through the non-windowed wall and don't have it through the wall with windows.

For what it's worth here are some two new images showing the house in question before the sniper team enters the building:left and right, the wall without windows and the one with. Please notice how the pixeltruppen enter through the windowless wall. From what i could notice so far the soldiers will always enter a building through the door,so this might be a bug?

  4. If you'll take a look at the below pics you'll notice my unit inside the house has LOS only to the left/9 o'clock. Can someone, please, explain why just in that direction and not in all directions? At first i thought it has to do with unit's facing.Perhaps not very obvious from the images, but one of the member of the sniper teams is facing 12 o'clock with the other one at 6 o'clock.Visually speaking,at least,as i haven't issued a distinct 'Face' order. So,this doesn't count why LOS is obtained in the left direction.Second,i thought it has to do with the facing of the windows.Again, not visible in the pic,but the house has windows both at left and the right, just solid walls in the front/back.So,again,this doesn't justify it.It it was the windows facing,i should have had los to left/right not just left.

    Someone care to enlighten me?

    Thanks.

  5. I was just wondering,is there a certain radius-relative to the target-in which the spotting round must fall in order for the arty strike to be on-target/successful?The manual isn't exactly explicit on the matter at hand, although,if i correctly recall,it stated that friendly troops should be at least 100m away from the target. Thus, suggested that the spotting round can fall in this 100m radius.

Assuming the above is correct,a spotting round which falls in the 100m radius will guarantee a successful strike?Likewise,a spotting round which falls outside the 100m radius means the shells will land on some arbitrary place, thus the arty mission should be adjusted/canceled?

Second,is there a single spotting round fired before the main load of shells are fired or we're talking about more than one, which progressively falls nearer and nearer the target?

    Thanks,

    Raz.

  6. For what it's worth,it's not a hardware problem, but a driver related problem.I own an ATI Radeon 2900 pro card and CM works. The only problem is that it works only with some older drivers.Catalyst 7.9 works-but without fog,Catalyst 7.10 and 7.11 works just as expected-including fog.Any other driver higher than 7.11 simply locks up the screen when trying to play CM.

  7. Well, gentlemen,i'm just another one of those unlucky fellows who can't have CMBB-and i'm quite sure CMAK too(although i haven't tested) running on theirs PCs.Everything goes just fine untill the 'Loading 3d graphics' screen, where the game freezes.

    My specs are:

    CPU:AMD 5400+

    RAM:4GB

    Video Card:ATI Radeon 2900 Pro

    OS: Windows XP Pro 64bit

I'm running the latest video driver(8.501) with the latest Catalyst version(8.6).

Anti-aliasing/Anisotropic-Filtering are set on 'Use application setting',so i assume this means they are turned off for CMBB?

I certainly do hope one of you have the solution for my problem,as i've been playing CM for at least 3 years by now and i don't want to give it up :)

    Regards,

    Raz.

  8. For those of you who don't know operation Frühlingserwachen(Spring Awakening) was the last offensive carried by the german army.It begun on 6 march 1945 and it's objective was to reclaim/secure the hungarian oil fields near lake Balaton. My question, for you, those who do know,is if you y have any knowledge of the armor(numbers and types) involved in this battle(german/hungarian/russian ones). From one source i found out that the

    germans had about 800 afv's:

    -105 jagdpanzers

    -162 stugs

    -141 pz4

    -248 panthers

    -20 tigers

    -92 king tigers

    and the hungarians:

    -10 stugs

    -12 turans 2

Can someone confirm this, becouse i personally have some doubts believing that( almost 250 panthers and 100 kt in march '45 !!!!).Any of you who have some knowledge on this and would want to share is welcomed smile.gif .
