  1. No, the activations are limited to the number of machines you are installed on, not the number of times you activate on the same machine (at least that has been my experience over the last couple of days and how I read the knowledge base articles).

I was under the impression you have a total of 3 activations available, iregardless of the machine from where you activate it. I would be happy to stand corrected, but i believe the trick with reactivating MG over and over again won't work. No more than 3 times that is :)

  2. I just purchased and installed MG, but in order to be able to finish my 2.00 pbem games i first copied the contents of the CM folder to a different location, then applied MG to the original one.

The issue is every time i start the 2.00 version, then switch back to MG, the activation for MG vanishes. I can start the game just fine,at the bottom of the screen it says v 2.10, but the MG blue icon isn't there and the MG battles/campaigns are greyed out.

Anyone encountering this as well? Any idea what the fix - if any - might be?

  3. Greetings gentlemen,

The Blitz is proud to announce the creation of "Bootcampers Breakout'" program on the Combat Mission:Battle for Normandy ladder.

The idea behind this program is to match up new players against experienced players, so that all new players (bootcampers) will get a good start in trying to understand the basics of playing CMBN through the use of training and experience from fellow Blitz Members.

While you participate in the program, none of the games played will count as ladder games. They are played for training purposes only, so you won't have to worry about winning or loosing. The main goal is for you to better understand the game, improve your tactics, and have fun.

At the end of your games, you will receive a report from your experienced opponent. The report will indicate good points and bad points of your game play and tactics. It will offer suggestions on what you can do next time, to be able to play bette r and be more successful on the battlefield.

The program will be open to a maximum of 10 bootcampers. The only condition is that you didn't previously played more than 5 games against a human opponent.

These slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

Out of the 10 games which will be played, five will be scenarios and other five will be Quick Battles. The side you will play and whether you're playing a scenario or a quick battle will be randomly decided.

    Thanks,

  4. Can someone, please tell me if the 'Battle size' param. of the scenarios has the same value as in CMBN? Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, Huge? I assume, given the hardware limitations, either only tiny/small/medium(?) scenarios are supported or a medium battle, for example,in CMT is actually smaller in scale than in CMBN?

Also, are quick battles supported?Or are there any plans to include them in the next game updates?

    Thanks,

    Raz.

  5. Greetings gents,

I'm planning to add a CM:Touch ladder at theblitz.org ,but since i don't own an Ipad i will have to rely on your advices for settling some details.

First thing first. I'm perfectly aware CM:Touch is not CMBN,but how similar are they? Similar enough for the Cm:Touch ladder to be integrated in the CMBN ladder? Or the game it's different enough to have it's own ladder?

    Regards,

    Raz.

  6. I can't really see how the second battle can be won without having at least one Churchill supporting the infantry with it's HE shells. Simply put,a british squad can't deliver enough firepower to match the german one, especially if the germans are in good cover. And in this particular scenario they are.

In close combat,if you manage to get that close, you'll be cut to pieces by SMG/LMG fire. At distance, the mg42 lmg (+the snipers) will rule the field. The 81mm mortars aren't that useful if blindly fired against troops in buildings and you'll waste to much time if you wait to call the arty strikes. You have only 45 minutes to get the job done and a lot of ground to cover with only 2 depleted platoons.

All in one..if someone can win this scenario without armor support he must definitely must be a tactical genius ;) I for one am not :D

  7. I'm starting to think scenario designers egos are getting in the way of gaming enjoyment. What happened to this being a fun hobby?

I just lost the second scenario with a tactical defeat, I was trying to be conservative with my weak force but the defenders held on despite massive mortar strikes. I didn't loose too many troops but couldn't control the objective against the fanatics when the time ran out.

Think I'll give up and start again.

Well,i managed to get a tactical victory out of this one, too. But,agreed,it was a though nut to crack ,especially the stug.

  8. They do have a lower profile-that's true-thus are harder to spot,i assume. I do believe, though, the advantages of the Pz 4 (turret &higher ammo count) outweighs the marginal spotting advantages of the stug. I for one would take -even at equal costs- a Pz 4 over a stug any time.

The only advantage-in game terms-of the stug would be the lower cost which is not the case at the moment. That's why,i guess,i haven't seen-and i played quite a few pbem games-anyone purchasing stugs.

  9. Pz IV H(late)-248 points;rarity cost:0

    Stug III G(mid)-293 points:rarity cost:0

Is there a reason why the Pz 4 is cheaper? It carries more AP/HE rounds (even the MG ammo load is higher) and if my memory stands correct both have the front armor of 80mm(with the turret of the Pz 4 being 50mm).And above all the Pz 4 is a tank-thus has a turret-unlike the stug?

Am i missing something here,or-less likely-it's something that BFC overlooked?

    Regards,

    Raz.

  10. Greetings gentlemen,

I just noticed this statement about the 1.01 patch.

"Save games from v1.00 ARE COMPATIBLE with v1.01, provided that you save your turn-based games in the COMMAND phase (not the replay phase) before upgrading to v1.01.

    "

How does this exactly translates to pbem games?Granted,English is not my first language so i might just missing the obvious, but aren't all pbem games-when you save it-in the command phase?

If the above isn't correct, would it work if i'd duplicate the original install folder so i'd have two copies of the game on the same PC-one patched to 1.01 one still at 1.00? I assume this wouldn't be an issue with the activation system would it?

    Raz.
