Yes thanks sburke I just rushed back here to apologise for time wasting. I opened the patch onto my desktop and just ran it from there and it must have been picking up other files that were already on the desktop. Thanks for your reply.

As an old CM player who has been away for a while and just purchased CMFB it seems the old ' z ' folder in the data folder for mods is no more? Could someone quickly fill me in on the new method? Thanks in advance.

...............for CMRT, I might have to postpone buying CMFB if it comes out in the near future and go to the Eastern Front instead!

Get well soon mate and leave those nurses alone!

Great stuff! Thanks for your hard work BarbariCo.

That's great news BarbaricCo. Your Advanced CMFI version is a must have.

................I dream of the day I will click on 'Battlefront' in my Favourites list and the first screen I see will not say.........'Combat Mission: Black Sea v 1.03 Released'.

Hey Bruce
Is that an Osprey campaign book?
No kohlenkau. Beevor is an English author who writes some great stuff. I've got books by him on Stalingrad, Berlin and D Day.
-
Great screenies kohlenklau. My son bought me ' Ardennes 1944. Hitlers last gamble' by Antony Beevor for Fathers Day. He keeps asking me if it's any good but I'm saving it for the Bulge game. I'm sure he thinks I don't want to read it.

In Bruce's other thread to report this bug, ASL Veteran replied and said he recalled that BFC people all decided at some point that US soldiers looked silly in CMBN to have packs on in combat and someone "turned it off" for CMFI so to speak. But they were too busy to go and do this for all the other nations or something like that or to go back to change it for CMBN. I paraphrased what he said so perhaps that is not the actual purity of what they did but it seems rather oddly done. Kiwi soldiers in CMFI GL came out after initial CMFI right ? But they have packs on and probably other nations do as well. Oh well.
In the navy we called this "configuration control"...where somewhere at some higher authority (called NAVSEA) it was expected that the specific ship's exact machinery configuration was 100% completely known. All their equipment models and alterations and field changes were known and if they had received them...Obviously it was always a shock when a team arrived and the ship had a configuration somewhat different than that tracked up at NAVSEA.
The folders in these games have probably slipped away from configuration control. There are some weird bmp files that float along for no apparent reason. Maybe not causing an on screen bug but just clutter that never gets swept out but rolled along into the next game! My personal favorite is a half-finished greatcoat bmp file...
Now people are having coffee and someone decides the backpacks don't need to be visible but all the US backpack images still stay in the folders.
So bottomline, it is not a bug. NO COMBAT MISSION MOUSE PAD!
Damn. Just have to make do with my Muppets one!
-
Ianl. Yes kohlenklau got it right. Doesn't seem to make any difference what timeframe you choose.
-
Timeframe did not seem to make a difference. I opened the M41 tropical in the hex editor and see it references the american_backpack. american_backpack is in the folders as an mdr and bmps.
I am not sure what is wrong. I brought in the M41 mdr's from CMBN and renamed them as CMFI trop M41's as a quick experiment but I cannot conclude anything from what I witnessed in game.
Something showed at the hip, mussette bag? I don't want to add to the confusion. I was hoping it would magically be there on the backs and we'd know we had a bad mdr...
Bruce, we can split the mouse pad. You want COMBAT or MISSION?
Or we can cut it the other way.
COM
MIS
or
BAT
SION
Lol. You pick!

Thanks for your answer gentlemen. I always thought it was something to do with the Sicilian/ Italian climate that they don't wear packs but even in Gustav Line and with greatcoats on they don't wear them! Go on kohlenklau, report it and you can get the mousepad. It's the least I can do for all the great work you put in here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS Anyone else never sure when kohlenklau's being serious?

You can already do that, double click on a company commander and you select all of the units under his command, give a movement order and they all get it as well.
Thanks Raptorx7, yes I know this but what I meant was that all units would follow the commanders waypoints. Very useful for road travelling.
-
I would like to see an option to double click on the commander of a particular unit thereby selecting all elements of that unit then give just him a series of waypoints and all his subordinate units follow him.
-
I would like to have US uniforms with packs on. Before I try to port something over from Normandy, is this even possible or is there a mod out there I've missed somewhere?
-
Bring it on Battlefront!!!!!!!

Thanks for your replies.

In Combat Mission Fortress Italy V1.20 if I go to the Editor, select 'British Army' then a Formation unit, say a Forward Observer then in Specialist Teams, 'Vickers', I get a 'Machinegun Detachment (Vickers)' consisting of 3 men armed with a Thompson a Vickers machinegun and a rifle. If I do the same thing in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy v3.11 Game Engine 3, I get a '2IC Team (Vickers)' consisting of 3 men armed with Stens. No Vickers Machinegun. Is that how it should be?

Magnificent !!!!!!!!!!

Great work Umlaut. Thank you.

Bruce!
Wake the f up! I have a battle in my new campaign, KG Von Burke attacks through "Bruso di Novanta".
Snort!! Cough!! Uh? What? Oh kohlenkau. Yes, sorry. Wow must have dozed off there. Yes I've been watching your new thread with much interest. Great news. I'm looking forward to it. Wonder what 'Bruso' means in Italian?
Mods. Where?
in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
