Man ... it ... just ... keeps ... going .....
.........

There, the circle is complete. Last file sent to Slysniper, so we should see the score very soon!
-
Yeah, a tied score would be incredible. If the tie-breaking game was anything like our tourney game, it certainly would be the game of the century!
One turn to go..... *bites fingernails*
*clicks the send/receive button repeatedly*
-
Seriously, I'm plotting orders as fast as I can go! Slysniper has picked the battle up well, and it's progressing along. We have two turns to go, so you won't have long to wait! You're just impatient to claim my laurels, that's all.
-
We've got it set now, I think. For some reason, Slysniper couldn't receive any of my files (zipped or non) at his home email address. They seem to send to his work address fine, so that's what we're doing. Shouldn't take too long, with just a few turns left to go.
-
My game is still going with Ozi, and it looks like it could take awhile yet. I feel bad to be one of the last to finish, but there it is.

OK, thanks Tankibanki, and thanks everyone else! Now I know what he's saying, so when my Mom asks: "What is your computer TALKING about in there???" I'll know the answer.
-
Oh, and thanks, Pseudo, for the German wording! I went to a free online German-English translator, and this is what it gave me:
"Attention. Below remain."
Does that sound about right?
-
I thought "Achtung" meant "Attention"? I guess "watch out", or "be alert" could sorta be the same thing.
I picked this file, because I could actually recognize one of the words.... and it sounded very German.
-
Alrighty, here's a question for all you German speakers. What exactly is the German guy saying on the CMBB .wav file #00032005? The reason I ask, is because I set that sound file to play whenever a new email arrives on my computer.
Just curious, seeing as I'm going to be hearing it alot!
-
Is this really true? I've nearly worn my CMBB out, it's so scratched. I don't even think it would install correctly, but it seems to run OK.Originally posted by slysniper:Battlefront ... if you do buy from them, they will normally send you a new disk if you wear the old one out.

MAN, I am soooo dissapointed..... I wanted to see what a Space Lobster could do to a King Tiger *sob*

I know one thing, I need to practice playing with "unfit" troops. If units in CMC get fatigued easily, we will probably be playing alot of games with troops who are in a less-than-ideal condition. Does anyone know of a good CMBB scenario that includes a significant number of "unfit" troops?
-
I'm 20 now, but I started playing CM when the CMBO demo first came out.

I like the graphics, sooooo much better than mere blocks with weird squiggles and doo-dads scrawled all over them. The age of un-interesting "I actually have to use my imagination" wargaming is over! It's the 21st century! Get with the program, people!
-
OK Bert, thanks for satisfying my hungry curiousity! Sounds like it was a very interesting game! Forgetting to check-up on certain areas of the map is easy to do, and I found myself making the same mistake several times.
I don't know, Bert... I still have great respect for Dutch military thought. The brilliance of your tactical mind has carried you into second place, and into a favorable position to win the tourney. Now, just get some good "Southern" American boys to lead, and you can't go wrong!
-
I was perusing the updated listings, when I came across this irregularity:
Oh yeah, spill the beans Bert! Some those superior Dutch tactics no doubt...Originally posted by slysniper:69/31 Walker vs BertBlitzkrieg (modified score 2% for Bert, challenged game award of a flag – Bert can show it in a after action report)

And trust me, it won't be that difficult. I think the last round was a fluke. I went into this tournament (my first ever, BTW) fully intending/expecting to have fun, lose, and give easy points to everybody else. I'll try not to disappoint yall on this round!
Thanks Slysniper, for all the hard work you've poured into this thing!
-
Yeah, blowing one of the bridges worked well for me too. I almost caught one of my opponents squads when the bridge exploded, but they hadn't quite reached the bridge when it was destroyed. It was just like that scene on a Bridge too Far, where the Americans trot up to the Son bridge, only to see it blown sky high! Yeah, I liked that scenario...Originally posted by WARHAMMER:Or a couple of blown bridges works fine too!

Yes, I was one of the poor sods who got the Tiger stuck in the snow. Seemed smart at the time (Mines on the road?), and the resistance I encountered seemed rather light at that point. I dunno, seemed to make sense, but now I slap myself. I won't be driving any more Tigers in the snow, anyway. The Panthers just booked it right through, no problem!

I don't care whether my opponent uses crews as scouts, recon, or suicidal sacrifical lambs--- However, I do like seeing a bunch of enemy "eliminated" figures, even if they only represent a two-man crew! Kill them ALL!!!!
-
I was biting my nails on all three games.
Bert, you were a good opponent! If those cowardly yankees hadn't betrayed you, I'm sure you would have repulsed my attack.
-
Oh, great, now I'm gonna be jinxed for the next round. Thanks a lot, Slysniper

Sorry to hear about your father, Slysniper. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.
Take as much time as you need. Us little brats can wait for the tourney result.
