  1. Hello Michael, Ive read several writups that attribute a high proportion of casualties to artillary fire . I believe that this would be true in the areas "back" from the "real" front line of a few hundred meters or so. Check out this link.http://www.carlisle.army.mil/cgi-bin/usamhi/DL/showdoc.pl?docnum=57 Its possible that many poor troopers were killed by rifle fire and after the battle with artillary ranging back and forth across the battlefield the casualties were attributed to artillary. Picture it.Not a good Graemlins for this one. Machine guns used the same bullet cal. as the rifles. poppy

  2. Two questions. The M1 is a semi-automatic rifle with a 8 round clip using a 30-06 cartridge . Has its effectivness been under rated in CM in comparison to the bolt action K98 and Lee-Enfield and has the Mp44 been overrated? A lot has been made of the sound made when the ejected empty clip from an M1 hits the ground but I dont think that it would be noticed at 100m in the dirt. poppy

  3. How can BF leave Korea out of their next CM production? Almost all [cant spell virtuly] of the weapons used in Korean war 1950 were used in WW2 so almost all of the reasearch has already been done. In addition we would get to us the Pershing, the updated[hopefully] easy-eight, the Centurian, 3.5 bazooka. There should be a lot of fans interested when they become more aware of the nations that participated in that war. And Burma WW2 could be included in the same production, lotsa stuff went on there almost no armour which would be very interesting. Thanks poppy Gonna have my son install spell chect for me.

  4. Korea 1950-53 What an oportunity to use all of that hard won knowledge of WW2 weapons. The Normandy landings in June 1944 till the surrender of Germany in 1945 lasted less than a year. Korea 1950 till stale mate in 1952 lasted twice as long. Used the same infantry weapons almost the same armour and similar terraine as norhtern Italy except for the extreme cold, just like Russia. What may be needed is browse the web for Korea in 1950-53. Ah http://www.carlisle.army.mil/cgi-bin/usamhi/DL/showdoc.pl?docnum=57 poppy Oh and I forgot to mention the Brits,Yanks,Greeks,Turks, and many other nations were represented.

  5. The 76mm ap rounds had some defects during ww2, were there iprovements made to this round after ww2 and prior to the Korean conflict of 1950-53. The Easy Eight was used against the T34/85 in Korea and I am interested to know how well they compared. In searching the internet for info I have found a lot of interesting reading but nothing on 76 ap round improvements. poppy

  6. Good question. A sound or flash ranging unit would have to be on map and of course would have cost points. They also would have had to have been placed correctly in the "setup" mode in order to detect the location of enemy batteries and would provide range and direction to your counter battery which would have to be in command range of your ranging units?? poppy

  7. What if an on map battery of 75mm howitzers had an ammo supply of say 400 rounds and 50 rounds per period could be fired. That would give a counter battery unit say two periods to detect the 75mm batt and say two periods of return fire and if the return fire silenced the 75mm battery it seems to me that that would be fun to do and the 75mm batt would have been limited to 200 rounds. poppy ??
