    Actually, as I remember it, Boromir dies a heroic death defending Frodo while Faramir lives and marries Eowyn becoming the prince of a land I can't remember the name of.And don't forget that Faramir was the actual betrayer by not reporting the ring to his father. :D

    Wrong, newbie arsholer!!! I mean what I write, but I just don't think it's a matter of life and death. Sometimes Im exaggerating(as with you) to prove a point.

    J is not the one to convince here. If there is anybody here who is ready to discuss any topic in a reasonable manner and listen/reply to people with respect, he's the man.

    I agree and never implied anything else.

    Appearantly, I took those remarks way too seriously but I just don't like to be called pacifist, liberal and french as if they are some kind of insults.

    Anyway, as I understand from the different reactions on my post(Kuni's laughter included)Kuniworth rarely says anything he means so I guess I'll 'chill out' ;) .

    Kuniworth, you fascist bastard, I'm seriously considering downloading the demo of CM :mad: .

    your comparation with the invasion of the Low Countries does not make any sense at all, and for your information, the crusaders got their asses kicked, and were thrown out of the holy land before they had a chance of doing any converting at all.

    you also made another idiot remark about the French,who are the only ones who have any right of complaining about the state this forum is in.

    JJ, I agree with all of your arguments but maybe you should take a look at Kuniworth before you talk about tolerance on BF.

    I am sooooooooo ****ing pissed. My opinion on this entire debate(because that what this has turned into) has just drasticaly changed, Kuniworth,I think you're acting like an incredible hypocrit.

    Deus volt(or dieu le veult, which is historicaly more correct, since this happened in France)was what the people shouted when Pope Urbanus the somaniest called forth the first real crusade.

    it means : it's god's will!

    This will to convert the minds of the CM-players to the only true faith: SC(2) reminds me of the Catholic propaganda during the crusades.

    I would also like to remind you followers of the good faith tongue.gif that the crusaders were slaughtered by the arabs. ;)

    Let's face it: there are a lot more CM-players(i'm talking about the people who play the game Combat Misson, not the person)then SC-players.We'll just have to learn to live with it.

    Aren't you exaggerating a little bit?

    I mean,that aggressive discussion was not at all a unique one.

    I remember the time when I still posted at the GF(good old days tongue.gif ),and it almost always ended up in a pissing match. One arguement doesn't mean a vendetta between the Cm-players and the SC-players has to come into existence.

    Some nasty things were said for sure, but isn't that always the case?Or has the GF drasticaly changed since I last posted there?

    The UK worked together with the US to develop A-bombs, besides the game is for 'what if'-scenario's as well, isn't it?

    So,what if germany had invested more in atomic research(weapons and energy)?

    What if the Russians would have invested in nucleair technology?

    I also agree this should be EXTREMELY difficult to do.

    Not just a high cost prive but some conditions as well :

    -enough available recources(mines,cities,etc...)

    -it has to be a major of course.

    - you have to have certain techs developped to an appropriate level before you can research nucleair technology.

    -a maximum of 2 chits that can be invested in it.

    -a maximum mumber of bombs that can be built.(to lower the chance of a 1945 nucleair winter because everyone's nuking each other.)

    p.s.: Germany did have long range jet bombers at the end of the war, didn't they? I though this was proven?

    I agree about the UFO's though, seems highly unlikely.

    1) Will there be elite or better trained/more loyal units that I can train e.g. Waffen SS, Fallschirmjagers, Spetznaz or Guards?

    Not in the game ,no.

    But you will be ablt to create these kinds of units with the editor.

    2) Will there be a higher cost to maintain armies and corps while they are at sea?

    yes, in terms of war readiness,morale etc...

    I also think there's a maximum amount of time a unit can be at sea but I'm not sure about that.

    3) Will Generals be able to look after more units now?

    eeeuuh....dunno.

    4) Will there be a population limit to stop one side turning out an unrealistic amount of equipment or soldiers or a resource limit e.g. Oil?

    Population: yes, rest :no.

    5) Will there be airborne units to help blitzkrieg tactics etc?

    yes.though from what I've heard they won't have major role in the game.

    6) More of a suggestion than a question (thank you for bearing with me) but, I think there should be more to do with season. Maybe spending large amounts of money to train and equip a corp of ski troops. But generally having to supply and pay for the new uniforms depending on season e.g. If there is going to be a winter war, the soldiers must be supplied with winter uniforms or face big penalties to morale and fighting capability. I can see how replacing uniforms seasonaly would be tedious, so maybe you might only need to purchase winter uniforms once for each unit? Or also having to buy desert uniforms for fighting in Africa?

    There are different seasons in the game and weather predictions. The feature site said(last time I visited it anyway) that different uniforms were visible on the graphics but you didn't need to purchase them.

    someone already suggested that there should be a tech for winter equipment etc.. but it's not on the tech list we've seen so far( in the development diary)
