    Hilarious

    BTW

Based on the terrible temp logo I think its called "Shock Force" not "Strike Force"

I do agree with you, it is an important part of getting the feel right. But I think things that can be exactly modeled (88 vs sherman) are really only a very small part of combat. So much more is just simply how people behave in a stressful situation, which really has to be abstracted.

While I think bitching about mistakes in things that can be simulated directly (armor thickness, for example) is good (helps keep the developer honest)I think people need to admit that we are talking simulations here a fairly large amount of what determines a battle's outcome quite simply is going to have to be something that the developer estimates.

  3. Ok, now I tried to wrtie a rathe long post about simulating combat. Its pretty akward, so I'm gonna try and write something shorter. What is more important in a sim: simulating combat to the most "realistic" way possible or accuratly camturing the "feel" of combat in a given time/place.

I would rather see #2 as combat is way too complex and dependant on way too many intangible things (leadership, morale) to accuratly simulate.

I would consider this to manke me an "anti-grog" as I am willing to overlook a mistke in the exact preformance of a Sherman's turrent armor against an 88mm shell as long as the sim gets across why driving in a straight line twords a Tiger is a bad idea.

I am intested in other's opionions on this issue.

I am assuming you meant "****stick" as per the original post.

Matt, you may have noticed how boys and girls look different when they are naked. Now, you may have some funny feeling when seeing boys or girls naked. Thats ok, its a normal part of growing up.

Sometimes people make up funny names for the parts where boys and girls are different. "****stick" is what some people call the boy parts.

Used in a sentance it would be "Go suck the snotty end of a ****stick" (Courtasey of my cousin's husband currently serving in the US Navy)

And of course the obligatory All Seeing All Knowing Wikipedia link

    Enjoy

Edit: PS nice Freudian slip. Like the old man said "Sometimes a cigar is just a big brown flaming penis."

  5. Oil that is. But maybe you call it...

I see crude is one of Syria's top exports. I'd really love to see some well fires. Seing them on TV during GW1 is actually one of my first memories (guess I would have been 5) Seeing them now, it just all looks so surreal. Like the end of the world. I think it could really at some flavor. But of course it would perhaps evoke too many memories of GW1. Now, this is just off the top of my head. Might be one of those things where we go "How hard would it be..." and it turns out it'd take 3 weeks of straight coding to work.

Twords the end of medic school when I was in an all male class, the sergaent talked about something known as "chronic vaginitis" ahem...
  7. Welcome, always good to see a vet. You are at least one of the first (if not the very first) from OIF. I think we will see humvees (check out the TOE for the styker company) but only for the CO and 1SG. Of course most guys will be in the Styker. Perhaps you can be a valuable contributer to the threads where people claim the M1 is some kind of invincible superweapon. We do have another M1 commander on the board (or so his handle claims) not sure if he's a combat vet or not.
