I recently bought the CMBO Special Edition - I already had purchased CMBO off Battlefront but thought I'd take advantage also of the extra scenarios and mods on the special edition extra CD - partly because my computer's quite slow and to save me the effort of downloading mods - and partly of course for the noble reason of helping sales of such a great product, etc, etc... I was however slightly miffed when I loaded up CDV's CMBO special editon to find Waffle grenadiers stomping over Western Europe, rather than the SS to which I'm more accustomed. GRRRRAAAAGGGHHHHH :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: , (as I believe the correct phrase for this kind of thing is in these parts). I know I was naive and should have realised that when buying CDV's product, this is what I would get and I totally understand CDV's reasons etc. But, and this is a big but, I'd kind of like to have the SS back (for no other reason than realism, I hasten to add - 'Waffen grendiers' just doesn't hit the right kind of note for me). My question therefore is whether there is a mod dealing with this for CMBO? I know there's one for CMBB as this was discussed a lot when it first came out but I'm not sure whether the question has arisen for CMBO before. Can anyone help? Many thanks in advance

Apologies - just found a number of gridded grass mods in Combat HQ Mad Dog Packs but again, a wide choice - can anyone suggest which one is best? (or at least explain the differences!) Thanks again

Hi - can anyone please tell me where I can find a gridded grass mod for CMBO? A link would help, if possible Also, what are your recommendations for 'must have mods' - have done a search but not been able to find anything. What's the latest version of SC? Are patches for it still being released or has development on it ceased now? Also, are there any plans for SC2? Apologies if these have been asked before but I never seem to have much success with searches Regards

Hi all I'm having difficulties in sending turns using AOL as a text only file - apparently, the recipient can download the file successfully but has to trawl through a whole load of garbled messages to do it. I have version 8 of AOL which automatically sends the file out as a HTML (by default and which can't be changed) and I believe this may have something to do with it? Has anyone else come across this and if so is there a solution? Thanks in advance

Hi All When playing QBs, how random is the map generator? Does it create a brand new map each time (unlikely I presume) or are there a set number for each map size which get chosen at random? The reason I ask is that having played a few QBs recently, I seem to be recognising some of the maps. Any info would be gratefully received. Cheers

Hi all When playing Quick Battles (or any other battle for that matter but not an Operation), what's the best thing to do with crews when their vehicle/mortar etc has been knocked out? Is it better (regarding victory points only) to get them off the map or have them safely hidden somewhere? Sorry if this has been done before Regards

I keep getting badly beaten by the AI when I'm playing as Allies. Are there any AARs out there or previous discussions re this scenario. I've done a search but not found anything. Or can anyone please just help?!! I love the map, just not the continual kicking I get on it. Thanks in advance

This might well be the most stupid question ever, but I take it that if I have a normal PC and someone else has an Apple Mac, we can't PBEM as the systems aren't compatible. Is that correct? And yes, I know I am completely technologically challenged, before you howl me down too much! Would appreciate confirmation though. Thanks in advance

Hi - can anyone please give me some explanation re Pre-planned artillery barrages. I'd like some general information re how to use them and when best to use them (over and above what's already in the manual). Can they be used in QBs, for example?
