  1. Junk2drive your Pacific mod looks fantastic! I enjoyed the Pacific Mod for CMBO, will this one of yours be released as a comprehensive package? That would be fantastic!
  2. Yup. I tried this as the Italians versus a friend. It took me 12 turns to gather every soldier, the tanks, and many reinforcements in a position that completely surrounds the French fort. Soldiers hid behind reverse slopes and assumed positions in the hills for suppressing fire as 2 seperate artillery observers pound the hell out of the legion. My 75 used the camoflouge of the bombardment to open up and destroy the small building. Then I sent every soldier I had forward at once. THE ITALIANS ARE TERRIBLE! They seemed to say "No one told us there'd be guns involved!" Instead of pouring unimaginable amounts of suppressing fire onto the single company of French most of my force decided to sneak into underbrush. Also the legion targeted my platoon and company HQ's, which idiotically consist of only two men and are very easy to kill. The Italians abandoned my painstaking set up of good positions with plenty of support from other platoons, mortars and MG's to sneak uselessly around. If I had had half as many good German troops I am sure that my set up of suppressing fire in the hills and tactic of surrounding and bombardment would have worked. Still though, I am not really bitter about losing. It was perhaps the most intense fire-fight I have seen in ANY CM game.

  4. Wow seconds to that. That would absolutely rule. I wish there was a Napoleonic game as good as CM.
  5. There are a few subtle things that are new in the demo, such as the dust in the desert (desert combat rules.) But are there any major changes for this game, such as the earth-shatteringly different scrolling system employed for CMBB? (and now here in CMAK as well, with the bottom half of the screen strafing and the top half rotating) There dont seem to be any real significant changes from CMBB, aside of course from the units. Its great to be able to fight as the Americans and British again with the great new CMBB-style interface. I hope you can all tell what I'm talking about.
  6. So i was playing a game against my brother and I had one of my soviet pioneer platoons hiding in some scattered trees by a road. I knew there was a panzer III nearby, and that my pioneers and their handy det packs could handle it. So i assigned cover arcs. The buttoned up panzer rolls into the arcs, and the pioneers pop up...and do nothing! It was maddening to see them rotate to follow it and not do anything. The panzer was not more than 20 meters away! I had to give the pioneers the assault and follow vehicle order on my next turn. Luckily i could use a heavy machine gun hidden in front of the panzer to make it stop inexpliccably and my men blew it up. Is there a way to make your soldiers attack tanks on their own? There is no cover armor arc and they had the right tools for the job.
  7. thank you all for taking my dumb question seriously. [ October 11, 2003, 05:38 PM: Message edited by: moop ]
  8. ah ha the solo battles link! Thanks guys.
  9. I just downloaded the Stalingrad pack because I wanted some good scenarios for play against the AI, an area that is generally wanting. I was wondering if anyone knows which scenarios in this pack are designed specifically to be played against the AI. Also, is there some sort of update for it? The readme says one will be released after the 1.01 patch, which was a while ago. Thanks.
  10. actually, another question if you don't mind. All of the rivers in the scenarios are actually wheatfields. Was it intentional, to represent overgrown swamp areas perhaps?
  11. thanks for the response. Fortunately these are just details. Really great work with the mod!
  12. For some reason, I have overlooked the pacific mod all this time and just got it. It is pretty neat except for a small problem: I downloaded all nine zip files and put the BMP's and WAV's and everything into their propper folders. However, the japanese forces still have german names, flags, and weapons, even though the weapons sound different. Any ideas? thank you.
