Yep,It's the old nickname for Britain. Was in common use during WWI & WWII. Blighty leave,Blighty wound etc. What or where is "Blighty"? I surmise that it has something to do with the UK. -
No worries mate,I sort of knew it be a RL issue so i wasn't stressing too much. You take care now.Originally posted by ColumbusOHGamer:It's not the website, it's Microsucks IE that's the issue. It does not conform to industry standards and will not always refresh a page properly. Sorry, but there is absolutely nothing I can do about that. The best solution is to hit CTRL-F5 after logging in. It does some sort of 'hard' refresh and displays the proper page.
As for my lack of response, I'm dealing with some very serious health issues at home and barely have time to read my mail or this forum. Sorry for the delay.

First of all,the scout cars didn't even last one turn, being taken out by PzIV's and a Tiger. After that I pretty cautiously made my way forward.I was able to take the village fairly easily enough but the tiger hung around over the other side of the map and killed 8 shermans with 3 of them being ultra-long shots,so I'll be careful of LOS when their around.I was kind of hoping it would come over to the village so I could ambush it but it stayed put.The PzIV's weren't much bother although one took out a sherman before it got hit.I think I advanced too slowly but at the time I wasn't sure if there were germans deployed forward.Good Scenario,If you can get rid of the Tiger you've got it made.

just tried the control-refresh,and would you know it,It worked!
Thanks guys.

I had an absolute ball playing this one against the AI.Here's what I did:
I followed the historical route by columns either side of the road, when i got to the trees at the bend of the road I got plastered by mortars and MG fire.heaps of pinned and panicked units.I used one tank to charge at the mg in the corner house, which surrendered.
I sent as many units as I could to the stone wall on the right and they worked their way forward into the village, assaulting the dug in paras forcing a few to surrender.
The boys on the left,I sent house to house and i found it was just a couple of sections(squads)that were really effective in the house to house scraps.i'm pretty sure it was the guys that didn't shake or panic in the mortar attack.
The tanks quickly ran out of ammo so I just used them to charge German positions hoping they would panic or surrender. It didn't work very well, one was knocked out and the other immobilized.
The rest of the battle was just a leap-frog affair with the guys on the left just clearing house by house and the blokes on the right moving their way to the big building in the middle which gave me the big objective flag.
I managed to get a tacical victory with casualties and KIA's pretty even and a final score of 32%-68%.Great fun,I'll probably do what kingfish said next time and flank them.I'd love to give this a go against a human, maybe my next Pbem.

Hmmm...Toffee-nosed is a stuck-up,arrogant and usally rich, upper class English person who's nose is so far up their own arse they can see the planet Uranus, and as for Tory trout, think:elderly Republican woman.Perhaps our commonwealth brethren on the forum can explain what he means by "toffee-nosed." I can think of an Americanism that bears a surface similarity, but it doesn't seem to fit here. And as for a "Tory trout" I can't even begin to imagine. -
My paternal Grandfather lied about his age and was a cook(later engineer) in 26 btn 2NZdiv.He served in Greece,Crete,North Africa,Italy(where he had his 18th Birthday)and went to Japan with the occupation forces.
Also had a couple of Great-Uncles that were in 2NZ Div,One got blown up in his tank and spent the rest of his life in a mental Instiution.

The kiwis in the game do sound a bit "funny" tho, maybe tha voice actors have spent too long overseas?(I spent 4 years in London and came back sounding like a cockney!)Originally posted by Madmatt:I am not sure what to say with regards to his comments about the Aussie and Kiwi voices. Both sets used native speakers (probably drunk too which is a requirement that the Finnish voice actors began in CMBB) for their respective countries. One rule I always enforce is that only native speakers for a country are used when I make or edit the samples. Oh well...

just change the BMPs. They're nos. 11001 & 11002 in the BMP folder.
-
I would like to be able use captured MGs etc.Its frustrating when you've got a Bren team out of ammo lying next to a captured MG34.
-
Ah.. I gather you dont mean my weekly visit to the Mother-in-law.

I reckon in counterattack to galatas i heard one of my boys say,"come on you bastards!"It was with a slight ozzie acker but not too bad.At least he didn't sound like Bill Lawrie(*shudder*)

Great stuff.Thanks fellas.

I was just wondering if there was a mod floating around where I can change the german Objective flag to a swastika.would the CMBB one work for CMAK?
-
Yeah but we get even earlier here in NZ,about an hour from now!Originally posted by goodwood:Merry Christmas to all,and a safe and happy New Year.
What does Christmas and CMAK have in common?
Christmas & CMAK arrives down here in Oz before Canada
Merry Xmas everybody!
