  1. Hey, I’m not underestimating Italians and I don’t have anything against them, but it is a historical fact that Italian soldiers in WWII surrendered a little bit too often. I’m sure that can be explained by poor leadership or lack of motivation or something else, but as Moon said, "it's a result of the command & control system".
  2. No, nobody gave it to me... But why " "? This was intended as " ".
  3. Just as soviets have their useless order in CMBB – "Human Wave", Italians could also have one in CMAK. Of course, that would be "Surrender" order. HQs could have an additional one: "Surrender Platoon / Company / Battalion".
  4. I agree that soviet infantry squads should not have AT weapons if that is how it was. But what about tank hunter teams? Tank hunters in CMBB carry Molotov cocktails and, later, sometimes they carry RPGs. But they could also occasionally carry lent-lease Bazookas or captured Panzerfausts.
  5. I think that all of those weapons: panzerschrecks, panzerfausts, PIATs and bazookas should be available to Soviets, but only later in the war and at higher rarity.
  6. If we have captured handguns (German PPSh), captured guns, captured tanks, why there are no captured panzerschrecks or panzerfausts? I saw on TV some documentary film where Soviet soldiers are holding something that looks like pzschreck or pzfaust (but it was very blurry). Anyway, it is much easier to learn to operate handheld AT weapon, than enemy tank. And Russians need (desperately) some good infantry AT weapon. By the way, why Soviet infantry squads do not carry RPGs?
  7. No, it works fine. You just need some experience.
  8. Fuerte, in the latest versions of PBEM Helper screen blanking works perfectly. I think that those black textures are no longer necessary. They use a lot of space on my hard drive. Will you remove them? And I just wanted to add that PBEM Helper is absolutely the best tool for PBEM games. Thank you Fuerte.

  10. What do you need? Just Yugoslav names? I can give you lots of names, if that is what you need...
  11. What are these SOPs? I agree that orders need to be simplified, but they also need to be powerful and exact. Anyway, it's good to see that somebody to doing something on this matter.
  12. A wish for future CMs, movement orders and more I would like to see better movement orders. I often need orders like: sneak to contact and hide, advance to armor contact, etc. I think that it would be best to have option to customize movement order. A few check boxes with options: move at maximum speed, move to infantry contact, move to armor contact, return fire when fired upon, open fire on enemy, look for hiding enemy units... Each of these options would make impact on movement speed, fatigue, how will they react on enemy fire (are they going to panic at first enemy bullet, or be able to withstand overkill). Each of the option has its pluses and minuses. There should be option to memorize all movement types that player uses often (with ability to player names them as he wants). This will also eliminate large number of movement orders that are currently in the game (run, advance, assault, move to contact, ...). For example: * "run" would be: move at maximum speed * "advance" would be: expect enemy fire, return fire when fired upon * "assault" would be: move at maximum speed, expect enemy fire, open fire on enemy Further more, there could be similar check boxes for stationary units. These check boxes would be: open fire on infantry, open fire on armor, conserve ammunition, target priorities, ...
  13. Speed of LMG team is medium. Why? Almost all squads have one (or two) LMG(s) and squad speed is fast. Why is LMG team so special (so slow)? If I understood this correctly, in LMG team one soldier is carrying LMG, and the other one is carrying ammunition. In squad everybody is carrying ammunition, right? 14. Soviet partisans are no longer available later in the war and Yugoslavian partisans were fighting throughout the war. Also, Soviet partisans in game are poorly equipped. It would be better if we had some real Yugoslavian partisans. I would also like to see them in CMAK. North Africa, Italy, Sicily, Crete, Balkans – all of that is "South".
  15. Well yes, in that case you are right. But would one target some terrain without reason? To kill some birds? When I give target area command, it is usually because I saw something there. I cannot see it right now, but I know it's there. And I want it routed or destroyed. Marko
  16. Yes, that would be nice. After all, it is called AREA targeting. But my point was that TacAI gives too low priority to area targeting. And I would liked to see that changed a lot before CM2, I would like to see that in CMAK, if there will be no more patches for CMBB. When I say target area, I mean target area! Marko
  17. No, no... It's: "Provide suppressive fire. Target is hidden near the pine tree to the north from where enemy gun just fired and destroyed our tank. You saw that, didn't you, soldier? I was a big muzzle flash near that pine tree, which is now obscured by the dust it raised when fired. Open fire and destroy everything around that dust." Well, that would be the order if gunner were imbecile. Marko
  18. Well problem isn't solved. That can be solved only by patch 1.04. I did use cover arcs and it helped a bit, but if you play against intelligent (and dirty) opponent, he can put some useless unit (tank hunters, for example) in front of the main target (mortar, gun, etc.) to protect it. That way your gun will not target area, it will target tank hunter, and you can change his order only after 1 min. And sometimes I forget to use cover arc and everything goes to hell... Well, not everything, just the gun. Marko
  19. One minute is more that enough time to knock out gun. You will probably not get another chance to reissue order once you revealed your gun’s position.
  20. Yes, that is exactly what I'm talking about. Hopefully this will be fixed for CMAK (if not for CMBB). I’ve lost many guns this way.
  21. Tactical AI gives toooo low priority to area targeting. I give my gun order to target some area and my faithful gunner start pounding that area. Good! Then, suddenly, enemy infantry unit pops up near current target and gunner changes his target and attacks that new unit ("No, no, forget about him, fire at that area, there are mortars there", I yell, but no one can hear me... ). Of course, infantry unit soon disappears in woods. And that's it! Shooting stops! Why didn't he continue to fire at that area? This matter of "forgetful gunners" is so drastic that I would call this a bug. Has anyone experienced similar problems? P.S. Sorry for my poor English. Marko
  22. You can target knocked out tanks. Guns will fire AP rounds. But I was wrong, they fixed this problem in v1.03. You can knock out abandoned tank.
  23. No, tank was targeted. AP rounds were fired. And light tanks can also be abandoned. This is bug (but not much important).
  24. But when I fired my AT guns at abandoned tanks they did not became "knocked out". Nothing happened.
