  1. I don't usually post to these threads, because you modders already know that everything you do is automatically fantastic (well, in my opinion at least). But now I just have to say: those look just great! Damn, now I can't even bombard a village to pieces without crying the destruction of so wonderful art. Keep up the good work! -Parachu-
  2. Now, this is what i call an original idea in game like CM . I propably wouldn't use it but if it was optional, then sure, go ahead and add it i don't mind.
  3. Eh, no, i was talking about my own guns. The point was, that i'm lazy and would like to know instantly when one of my guns is knocked out. Oh well, quess I'll have to do with unit bases and warning labels then. And after all, they are better than nothing
  4. As usual, i was playing CMBB, this time as defender and had some AT guns. The map was pretty big and i eventually got bored of checking every turn "is this AT gun still functional?" I think it would work better, if there was always a little message "Knocked out" when an AT gun is destroyed, like there are messages when a tank is destroyed. I know there are warning labels, but they show everything else too: low ammo, pinned and panicked troops and all that, so it can be hard to see where your gun actually is and is it working or not. What do you think? Would this be a nice little feature for CMAK? -Parachu-
  5. Ah, thanks. There are just too few Berlin scenarios. Looking forward for downloading this one.
  6. I don't think it is possible, but i'm not absolutely sure.
  7. Yeah, and when do we get patriotic kamikaze cancers that lay mines??? [ July 08, 2003, 12:39 PM: Message edited by: Parachute Hamster ]
  8. Yup, let's remember, that one turn is one minute. I don't think you repair such a big thing as tank's gun, let alone that huge track, in few minutes even if there were some friends around. [ June 30, 2003, 03:27 AM: Message edited by: Parachute Hamster ]
  9. Well, there are germans with their long range optics and "big cats". Then there are russians with their infantry masses and huge assault guns. I can't name the best, because i like them both. And then of course, there are those über finns I just love.
  10. It depends really. If i play as germans or finns, i try to save as many of my men as i can, especially those helpless crewmen. And if i play as russians, everybody who runs away has betrayed his motherland and deserves to die. "So what, if you have just some pistols? You can still shoot the enemy, right?" By the way, have you ever had any of your crewmen actually kill something with their little pistols? I once had green 88 flak crew, that desperately tried to run back to their own lines of defence. They encountered a russians squad, that was currently falling back. I was sure, that none of my crew would survive, but it was a pretty surprise to see them shoot and actually kill all those russians without taking any casualties. After the battle i checked their stats. Yup, 6 infantry casualties caused  . Don't ask me how, maybe they were a bit fanatic or something?
  11. A bit off topic, but yes, Eddy, you can call me whatever you like. My friends here in Finland often call me with many nicknames, so i'm used to it. Feel free to do it as well . Yeah, but let's get back to the topic, shall we?
  12. I may be totally wrong, but this is what i think: when a tank is knocked out, it is clear, that it can't be used any more, damage is just too critical. Think about it: would you stay in a tank, that has been set on fire ? And then of course a penetration may have killed some of the crew, a driver for example, so it just can't continue. The crew will bail out. When a tank is abandonded, there may be many reasons: if it is immobilized or a gun is damaged and crew thinks, that is is much more dangerous to stay in it than to run away, they will abandon it. And of course, if you hammer it enough with guns, crew may panick and abandon it, because they fear that one of those shots will penetrate the tank. Welcome to the forum, by the way, and sorry of you find this difficult to read. I'm not a native english speaker, nor am i very good at it.
  13. We would be here wondering: "But what if the Allied forces won the war?" [ June 06, 2003, 01:41 PM: Message edited by: Parachute Hamster ]
  14. That list is impressive indeed! I once had an infantry squad, that had 110 infantry casualties caused at the end of the battle. They were defending tall heavy building and literally wiped out everything that moved on their sight. As someone wiser than me has said: there are bad moments in CM, but then there are also those very good moments...
