  1. Have played around with the demo a bit and it looks like your air units automatically intercept enemy air as in Strategic Command. I was hoping that in SC 2 you would have the option of setting your air units on a "do not intercept" mode. I never did like the auto intercept as my air units were continually being beat down, even though I wanted to save them for offensive ground support missions.

  2. Just started playing around with the demo and I have a question about the speed of the movement of units. When you move a unit it moves to the new location almost instantaneously. In the full game, is there an option to slow down this movement. My concern is viewing replays where the movement may be too quick. So far, the game reminds me of Panzer General but it looks like it could be as addictive as Strategic Command One.

  3. First let me say that I will be purchasing SC 2 as I played a lot of SC and think it is a great game. However looking at the new screenshots, they just don't "look right" For example the screenshot of St. Mere Eglise which was just a small village. The graphical representation though is the "parliament building" which is used regardless of whether it is Paris or in this case, St. Mere Eglise. Maybe a small church for villages would be more suitable. Anyway, hopefully this one is as much fun as SC.

  4. It is unrealistic that the Axis player knows that partisans will only appear in certain terrain. The nature of partisans and guerilla warfare is appearing where you least expect them and hit and run tactics. My opponent told me that he used about 13 corps to suppress the arrival of partisans. Of course he used Axis satellite units whenever possible. I think the elimination of Russian partisans outweighs the loss of these 13 corps. In SC, Russian partisans have a strategic impact on the game as they not only reduce the supply of front line Germans but reduce the MPP value of cities which also negates the option of a strategic move to or adjacent to the city. This is probably unrealistic as well.

  5. I just completed a game as the Allies in which not a single Russian partisan appeared. According to my opponent, you merely have to garrison every city and put a ZOC on every mountain and swamp hex. Seems rather unrealistic to me so I hope that is changed for SC II as the partisans seem to be very important to the Allies in SC.

  6. I was experimenting in hotseat mode with a invasion of Turkey as I want to use it in a PBEM game I am playing. Russian readiness jumped to 100% from 68% after I invaded. Does an invasion of Turkey automatically bring the U.S.S.R in to the war? Thanks to anyone that can answer this.

  7. The last few games that I have played with my friend, he has invaded Iraq early in the game using two air units and surrounding it with ground. The CP's he gains has had a strategic impact plus he has been able to send some Brits to the Russian front later on to bolster the front line. I am curious as to what other gamers have done to counter this? I was thinking that an invasion of France right after the Lowlands falls (leaving Finland and Sweden for later) might be an option. Any comments would be appreciated.

  8. Playing my first game of SC by PBEM and having a lot of fun. A couple of questions for you veteran players. Is there any way to skip the introductory screen (with the leader faces) and the accompanying music? Secondly, we are playing without the War in Siberia optional rule but it is March 1942 and no reinforcements from the far east have shown up. Are these reinforcements triggered by German proximity to Moscow?

Just a comment. As the Allies, I invaded Ireland but afterwards noticed that there is no port so the only way I can get my invading unit off the island is by disbanding it!

Anyway, as I mentioned, we are enjoying our first game and will be playing a lot more!
