  1. I am trying to find the exact location to install the CMBB Bases mod for the CM Normandy and Red Thunder game. I have used the traditional install option but I can't find the exact location. I did place in z folder but it didn't work

    Thanks

I also downloaded some things for Red Thunder as well, like the floating icon, where do I install this info?

    Thanks

  3. I have a brief question, I first purchased the Global Conflict and patched the game to 1.07. I also purchased the Global Conflict Gold Version and Assault on Communism.

I guess I have two questions:

    1. Do players who have both games on the computer eventually delete the regular version of Global Conflict? And if not, what is the big or little difference between the two games.

I am not sure if I should keep the original on the drive,

    2. Does anyone play the original version 1.07 if they have the Gold version?

    Thanks

  4. I noticed that worm however, I only played the game once and I bought the game to show support. I play mostly other games and I shell out some money for this stuff. I like Battlefront and the games they produce. I just thought on this one that it might have saved a lot of us with a "brief" that previous owners of assault on communism could get it for a certain price. I have seen this before in the PC software market and its just a good strategy. I would do it since I don't want customers to lay off from buying something assuming for a wait until a bundle comes out. People change their minds and then don't buy anything.

I still like the games and will still buy them, oh well, enough of complaints on to games!!!!

  5. I was just going to start a thread on this when I noticed this one. I have bought almosy every Battlefront game and I have bought so many I think I should even get a "Freebie" at times. I bought the assault of communism for 25 bucks and now they release both games for 40 bucks. So, for me to get the AOD I have to pay an extra 10 dollars. Lousy system from my point of view and I should follow the advice that I read a long time ago about the computer pc market. Don't buy when it first comes out and knowing me, I would probably not buy it then or I would wait to get it reduced. Perhaps, people who shell out the bucks first should get the discount. You lose that group and you will lose customers. Just my opinion, I know I am not forced to buy but that's the point

  6. Hi

I noticed your post on the backing up of files. I have purchased a number of games from Battlefront, almost everyone. I have thumb drives as well. What do I need to do specifically to back up the game either on a thumb drive or another hard drive.

    What files?

Currently, when I get for example the 200mb install file for Assault on Communism, I install the game on my C:\ drive and then I drag the 200mb install file onto my storage drive. I also copy all my receipts and usually the serial numbers into a notebook. Matrix Games has a decent record of allowing you to reinstall games.

    Is this what you mean?

Thnaks for your help and the game looks well built.

  7. I agree with longleft - says it perfectly - The best thing to do is say up front that the 10 upgrade v2.0 for the most part allows people to play the game earlier before the MG game comes out. Lots of gamers will pay a premium price to play the games early. They do it all the time with the FPS games - Call of Duty, Battlefield, Far Cry etc.

The worst scenario is that both games don't mesh well and then people are playing with different versions and this will cause chaos.

95% of the players on this forum will pay the 10 bucks to play the game earlier,

    just a thought

  8. I almost downloaded the v2.0 until I noticed the $10 charge. I bought the boxed version when it came out and I rarely play the game. I have all the original games plus most of the strategic command games. I did buy all the expansion packs from matrix games regarding the Panzer Corps game and those packs cost $5 apiece.

At first I thought "What the heck" Then after reading the posts and most of us throw away 10 bucks so easily, that with the time spent with these games its worth it. I mean, go to a movie for 2 hours and it costs that much, McDonald's meal about the same.

The only thing I won't do in the future is buy the boxed editions of games, I'll just wait until the sales come around and then buy the games.

I am waiting for this game to be Eastern Front - Is that in the development stage?

Maybe, I will start a game but I didn't like the shock force much and I'll have to try again.

I still like the work this company does and thanks for making the patches for games.

  9. I was thinking that it would be nice to see the VP hexes in the scenarios for tactical and major victory be identified in some way by a visual icon if at all possible? I know you can go back to the options screen and click on the victory requirements. However, something on screen that could indicate a hex that is part of the victory requirements would be helpful. Sort of the way matrix games has the panzer korps victory hexes.

    Just a thought
