One of the advantages of using Digital Download as the means of purchase is that you have no worry about CD checks...just intall your licence and you are good to go....

There are artillery units present in the smaller operational campaigns that are included in the game. They are not present in the strategic game however.....Originally posted by Stellvertreter:Hi,

I'll ask this question here so as to not clutter the board with editor questions....is there a way to create borders? I see no border tiles available to use.....

Perhaps Avalon Hill's Guns of August could be translated to SC2.....Originally posted by LampCord:I bet it gets done before Matrix finishes Guns of August 1914 - 1918.

It probably would be possible to use the 70's SPI boardgame War of the Ring as a guide to create one for SC2...it has a detailed map which I guess would not be too difficult to do a hex to tile translation, and a ready made OOB...who knows, if a mod was ever created, it might draw a few more customers into the fold....

Thanks for the explanation HC.....

With Fog of War on, I'm surprised to see that an advancing unit does not lose the initiative when they come in contact with a previously hidden enemy. They are still allowed to attack which defeats the purpose of FOW, as I think it would be better served if enemy contact resulted in the lose of initiative to the attacker, and they suffer an attack without the ability to counter. With no initiative lost, a player can simply forge ahead and not be concerned about "enemy contact" doing much damage.
Is there a negative combat modifier that I am not aware of? I have had some successful attacks agianst "enemy contact" units so I'm not certain...Discovery of hidden units becomes too easy if there are no penalties with enemy contact...

Thanks Slapaho for your observations...I already had SPYCATCHER shut down during the install but after reading your post, I reduced the security level from medium to low, then shut it down.....that did the trick!
Thanks again, as well as to MadMatt for attempting to look into it!

Well I never experienced this before...I cannot start up the game on my home pc. If I click on the desktop SC.exe icon, nothing will happen. If go to the "Run as" command and indicate that I am the user to run the program, I get the following pop up.
eLicense Control
In order to finish initializing, this application must be first run by a user with administrator priviledges. Please contact your system administrator for help. 5-2
Now I do not use a password to log in, just my name and I am in fact the administrator for this pc. But this is not enough, and so I am denied access to the game. Any suggestions?

And one can certainly understand the reaction to such comments here considering what happened last year to the SC1 demo...by the way, still trying to log onto the download site...at this rate, I'll get my hardcopy before the digital download....
ahh..finally got through!!!!

Well at 10:35pm est the service is unavailable...I guess I'll watch the Middlesborough-Charlton match and wait until the morning....

SMG42, my lame joke was in fact due to the many posts regarding hex v. tile...I recommend doing a search and reading about the topic in other threads as it has been played to death by now...

Well you never know when an actual bug might be found within all the complaints and in fact there has been at least one discovered.....

Too bad the game cannot hold up on my laptop... though I know I have a meager video chipset, there are so many games that I can play that I hoped to squeek this one through...no luck...

I think one of the issues with the graphics, and the complaint of them being "crowded", is that when you have a cluster of them in adjacent tiles, it is difficult to distinquish between them and it looks like a blur...adding the solid coler base helps a bit, but I'm finding that using the NATO symbols is a better option.....

Buying units is disabled in the demo...

A better header would have been.....
I GOT MY COPY IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!
..too cruel perhaps?

Speaking of pre-orders, does pre-ordering preclude the availability of the game through Digital Download?

I think there is a Bulge scenario included in the game and roads are pivotal in that campaign....how does the inhouse scenario deal with it, or is it the same scale as the 39-45 campaign game so it does not matter?

First off asshole, if you bothered to check, you would discover that that gentleman who started the thread accidently double posted it, so the locked thread was the double post and the original was moved to the General forum where it belonged....cram the Nazi ideas up your puckered ass!

That's fine, it is just good to see that it is possible, difficult perhaps, but possible...thanks....Originally posted by Blashy:Casablanca is on my map .
I have not touched anything AI related, WAY too much work involved.
As we stated the editor gives you the ability to make a completly NEW game and so if you intend to make it single player it will take you twice if not three times more time because you will have to test over and over and create the appropriate scripts.
We had and have enough work just working on game for the standard camapaign.
Why bother with Norway?

If the Allied AI had the cajones to invade Norway then it might be prudent to beat them to the punch..otherwise, it's not a bother....
