  1. no, Carl v. Mannerheim, also in my 25$ version patched with 1.04!!! By the way, how about making a new scenario called citadelle? I like Uranus!
  2. I want to point out that it is the "easy" playability without micromanagement, that fascinates me the most. As Hubert concentrated his game on the essence, everyone in this forum should do the same and keep it short and crystalclear. Some thoughts about the game: 1. research section in PBEM is unbalanced, development should be guaranteed there 2. subs should be able to hide more until sonar is developped. Transports that transport MPP´s should be included, as the US helped UK and USSR from the early days on with thousands of tons. 3. player should be able to assign units to HQ´s 4. according to my data (Friesers studies), french had overall double size of units as germany, but a gamelin HQ with sub-zero rating. For example -10 would decrease the morale and readiness of french units to 5% (like it is written history). In the beginning of Fall french, only gamelin HQ should be available, but the army and french airfleet should have double size than germanys. 5% readiness should do the rest to let germany break through. 5. In the beginning of barbarossa, germany had the most modern army. Germany took hunderthousands of prisoners and slaughtered the enemy by millions (11-13 millions russians killed, but only about 3 million germans). Maybe Hubert can simulate that reality someday also, making it easy for germany to advance to moscow, but then the tide turns, because of winter, mud and mines etc. At Stalingrad, german army was oldest. Russia had built up with transports from US and had well dressed (winter combat clothes) and well fed and fresh soldiers. German soldiers were hungry, thin men with horses instead of trucks (speaking in general). Russia then had also antitank weapons, that german tanks couldn´t compete with. German supplies were plundered then by russian partisans. So Winters should reduce german strenghts 2 or 3 points. Russia should maybe start with armies at 7,8 or 9 and develop to 12 or so, until moscow or stalingrad is reached by germany. The campaign should develop those levels (as option) by itself, according to real history. British and US bombers should develop the same without influence, like it is written history. The same with subs, sonars, radars etc. 6. Destroyers and battleships should protect personal and MPP convoys from being attacked by subs then, like airfleet protect citys etc. now do. Transports should be able to move much less hex´s than now. 7. larger maps (world maps) would be great. 8. Maybe the number of purchaseble units should be limited for each country according to historian facts. When you bought all germans for your armies (3-4 millions), then germany is empty. But russia has much more manpower to reinforce units. Maybe also airfleets should be limited to purchase. 9. In a PBEM the enemy should see how many times the opponent has reloaded. I think reloading increases a lot the efficiency of s.o.`s turn. Last but not least, I love a research section (but it needs to be balanced in the way, that luck is not needed here), HQ´s influence (which is perfect in my opinion), experience (perfect), entrenchment (but entrenchment level should be viewable BEFORE stepping on it!) So please read my notes, Hubert, and be inspired by it. You know I love the game very much and am very happy that someone like you took the time to make it.
  3. Hi Hubert, I would like to know which nation you are from. 1. In the game it should be: "Rundstedt" instead of "Runstedt" and "Luftflotte" instead of "Luftlotte". 2. Add a strategy topic to the forum like the CMBB Forum has one. The commited player should find and post there his informations about tactics and strategy. Thank you for this game, docd
  4. Agreed 100% to Jeff Gilbert. Moreover, don´t think that Hitler was the military genius, the game wants us to suggest. If I enter a shop with a machinegun, I can also win the counter in one turn. At the moment I enter I declare war, shoot someone and take the money. This is how Hitler acted several times, also telling the lie, that the other side did the first shot or prepared for war. With his generals he had terrible fights about operational decisions. He was too selfish and ignorant to agree to different but better opinions than his own. He blamed them before others and nervwrecked them. Many generals were killed as traitors. Hitler immolated MILLIONS of people even at a stage of war, when victory was impossible to achieve. And in the last minutes of his live, he blamed the german army and the people for the loss of the war. Hitler was a great talented criminal without scruples who installed a regime of terror. His main talent was to act black and tell the world it´s white. And he believed it himself till the end. Thinking his engine was the love to the german population. But the truth is that mainly because of him 1. 55 million people died, 2. his enemy - the Stalinismus grew stronger than ever after WWII, 3. germany needed millions immigrants from in his mind inferior races 4. the germans were blamed all over the world because of their war-crimes 5. million dollars had and still have to be spend for reparation on jews etc. 6. many nations and people (for example the jews) still hate the germans for what happened and make even the younger generation feel guilty (and pay) So never forget such things, when you play that game. Don´t glamourize a man who has lost all aim and goals. (I think it is no question that those goals were all crazy, but even if someone could agree to Hitlers goals he must admit, that Hitler created exactly the opposite of what he wanted, and that can never be called "genius" !!!)
  5. Hi there everybody, what do you think, if Hubert makes SC customizable. In a big option menu at the beginning could be set many values and/or formulas of the game. For example the value of MPP plundered in the different countries. And the value of MPP gained per turn for the countries. Maybe also the units and unit levels of each unit in each level of research. Also the research section could be customizable by the player. I think, we are such a big community of fans, that would figure out the right balance after short time and could post some savable settings for the standard games here. Both players then need to subscribe the change and may enter the game. (Hope you understand my few words english?)

  7. HI Generalfeldmarschall Hubert, first of all thanks for that ingenius masterpiece. Some ideas I found out during playing several days (and nights): I really spent some time thinking about those improvements (maybe for SC2), so please try to understand the meaning!!! 1. I hate to see the computer move, I only want the results (to save my time!). I also hate to see signs like: germany lost 1 MPP. All of that makes me very nervous. Maybe you can add an option: "Blitz player" according to that. That makes one complete campaign hours shorter to play and the player can focus on the essence! 2. I hate the reinforcment procedure. I want a one click full reinforcement button (your game shows that it works brilliantly without boring micro-management, only that point needs to be redesigned). For example: button on the screen which enables to fully reinforce the afterward clicked units. 3. I miss the transports of 13.000 tanks, tons of steel etc. from USA and UK to Russia (ISLAND to Archangelsk). For that the map mus be bigger at norway and sweden. I refer to a book I read: Geleitzug PQ17, Günter Karweina. In deed I think the map should be a world map! 4. When playing PBEM with FOW: Forbid ships to do UNDO movement! Otherwise you can search the whole movement area of a ship in beams of a star to detect subs or s.th. else! 5. Saving a game: Please add real date and time automatically when a player saves a game. At the end some ideas that I am not so sure about, but they could be interesting for a genius like you: A. What about taking prisoners? I think Russia should start with more corps, but the german can pocket a lot of them using their tanks. Then there is a certain chance, that those troops give up and leave the map as prisoners. B. What about laying mines? When a unit entrenches, it should also lay mines on it. When it leaves, it leaves the mines behind. But only after having fully entrenched or after a certain number of turns! In fact, last week I heard in the radio that some kids died because of mines layed by russians in the second world war. They layed thousands and the germans ran right into (July 43). Also in the normandy could mines be dropped then. C. Please explain better the influence of terrain in your manual. The river hexes should have a bigger influence on movement and fighting or defending, I think. D. Is there an influence of the season in the game??? Sorry, but I missed that then. I think, like in original, it should be difficult to fight in winter because of coldness. And in spring because of mud. The player should be forced to make a summer offensive. Ok, that is all for now. Maybe you can take the time and write me your opinion on my points. I strongly feel that most of them would improve gameplay to the max and beyond (if that is possible, because it is extemly and unbelievable good RIGHT NOW). Keep reducing it to the MAXIMUM!!!
