  1. Hello,

my pc was down for some weeks. After repairs, I had to reinstall global conflict gold.

As I possess the bundle via download, I tried to reinstall the license given. It worked for global basic, but for gold, I got the message:

"You seem to be not connected to the internet", followed by: "Licence error Nr.12"

    Any ideas?

  2. I am an average player and Strategiclayabout, my favourite playing partner eats me for lunch with both Axis and Allies, and I have lost 5 or 6 allies games against him.

Nonetheless, from my games against other players than him, I have a score of allied games of 13 won and 3 lost (including one lost against Amadeus by the way.) And I am really not very good.

What I want to say is that I find the game all in all balanced.

Experience is an issue, and the winning strategy Russia/China, but if these things will be addressed in 1.04, I would say that the Allies should be able to win most games.

One other possible issue is that the Japs are a bit overpowered. I think it derives from all the popping units in Spring/Summer 41. Japan usually has the biggest army of all nations, and thats outright ridicilous when you look at history.

  3. I am just playing a single-player match with the Entente against the CP AI on expert difficulty. So far, is was a nice and for my mediocre playing skills quite challenging game, and the AI defeated my Russia by the end of 1916, signing Brest-Litovsk. Its now september 1917, and I am waiting for several months for the great German offensive in the West. But it doesnt come, and the german western front seems quite weak.

Curious, I disabled fog of war and took a look.

I found most of the german and austian-hungarian armies clogged up in the Alps against Italy, about 70 units in all, including 5 german HQS and several artillery, five or six rows deep.

Historically, the CPs conducted an offensive in 1917 to weaken Italy before the Ludendorff offensive in the west, and the scripting of the AI was probably done with that in mind, but thats a bit overdone, dont you think?

I would have included a screenshot, but I seem to be to stupid to get it work. My normal keyboard button doesnt work and the screenshot folder of the game remains empty. Is there a hotkey for a screenshot?

Anyway, as the Ai cant break through my defense in Northern Italy, I am afraid this massive deployment of enemy troops wont change and an otherwise fine match will end quite boring with me taking Belgium easily and reducing german morale quickly.

  4. Playing several games in single player of 1914 call to arms as well as ostaufmarsch, I noticed on several occasions ground units of the AI attacking my ground units over large distances like they were long range bombers.

In one instant the Indian Cavalry corps, landed in Marseilles, attacked an ottoman corps in the Caucasus over half the map.

I am playing the SC series right from SC 1 a decade back and never experienced this bug before.

  5. I am surprised the japs took vladivostok. You can grind the jap navy and the US navy down by tac air in manchuria und constantly launching subs. The Jap MPP is very low, they shouldnt be able to replace their ship losses/damage.

Its possible to invade Japan and later the Pacific islands with Russia.

  6. Hello Robert,

I really like your scenario and I am having much fun playing it. Having installed patch 1.01 it seems that Afghanistan and Tibet now become soviet and chinese territory, so this problem seems to be solved by the patch. Havent played far enough to tell about Cuba and Bolivia.

Another issue I came upon now is the strength of Egypt and South Korea at start. The North Koreans annexed South Korea right in the first turn after the war declaration because SEouls garrison has only strength four.

Likewise, the egyptian garrison in Cairo has only strength 4 and Egypt was easily annexed by my Allies.

Both Egypt and SKorea were a bit disappointing.

You might consider giving the garrisons of Seoul and Cairo strength 10 or at least 8.

On playing the Commies against the AI, I found its very easy to gain control of the oceans, as Britain and USA dont build any ships and so their fleets melt away under my constant attacks.

Perhaps their navies could be reinforced by scripts.

    Keep up the good work.

  7. Hello,

let me first say I love the SC-series and bought every part of it.

I am currently playing two games of the 1948 WWIII alt-history scenario, one with the Allies, one with the Commies.

    I encountered the following problem:

Afghanistan and Tibet are by event annexed by USSR and CommChi respectively. But both countries remain neutral. They cant be influenced diplomatically, the ownership of towns and tiles remains neutral, and no side can declare war on them.

The same in the Western Hemisphere with Cuba and Bolivia. Both became communist by event, but remain neutral, cant be influenced or invaded by neither side.

Furthermore, the USSR has a decision event regarding basing rockets on Cuba, cost 250 MPP. But there are no rockets on Cuba afterwards.

Are these things intended or mistakes?

Has this been addressed in Patch 1.01?

I really like the scenario, and its a minor issue, but I think its not correct this way. The scen would be even more fun if these four mentioned countries would be normally invadable and so on. And Sov missiles on Cuba would be real nice.

ONe other minor thing in this scen are spanish guerillas. In my Commie game, the USSR invaded and conquered Spain. Every so often, the message pops up "Spanish guerillas disrupt supply", but there are neither the usual explosions nor is the supply in Spain reduced.

Thanks in advance for looking into this.
