sdk,
If you are having problems with CMMOS you may want to give McMMM a try.
It is a mod manager for CMBO / CMBB and CMAK and it doesnt need any particular rulesets installing. It can also handle all the latest mods, not just the CMMOS compatible ones.
It is VERY simple to use ... just put all your mods in a directory and point McMMM to them.
It will also backup your original game bmp's are restore them if/when you remove the mod....
If you want a copy go here http://www.cmmods.com/ it is in the CMBB section. If you search be designer it will be under 'GreenAsJade'.
You now have to register to use the site .... but its free and it it THE site where all the mod designers release their CM mods.

I've gone down the BFC route...and if it means waiting a few days, thats fine.
My copy of CMBB was a CDV one and the lack of certain insignia or the Wafflegrenadier issue doesnt really bother me that much, even though I did feel that if they were going to produce a German language version targetted primarily for their home market then that is the version that should have been subject to German legislation, not versions for the wider European market.
What DID bother me was that CDV seemed to have a lack of interest in CMBB. Their website didnt really push the game, whilst other WW2 games they were distributing were given lots of exposure.
IMO they just didnt deserve a cut of the game profits .... and this time they wont get one from me

I dont remember seeing any post along those lines, but are we sure that somebody hasnt been misquoted ...... could it be that this post was talking about 'displaying' each soldier in a squad, rather than the 1 or 3 figure representation we have at the moment.I was disappointed to read in a posting by an administrator (Charles, maybe) that the next version of CM is going to focus more on individual soldiers. Not actually having to manage each individual squad member.

Excellent news ...... good to see it back.
Oh yeah and errr.... 'w00t' .. or words to that effect !

Not a chance ..... I'm just sitting back watching the show ... its amazing how one missunderstood comment can cause such a flare up.I think Lou2000 is running to tell the teacher as we speak...let's skedaddle and stop looking so innocentHey .... if you've all skedaddled then I'll be the only one here and teacher will blame me !
.....Honestly BFC, some big boys did it and ran away !

I'll bet Seanachai isnt one of them !!
Now if I had a shelf big enough, who would I put on it to prove to the world I have taste

I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it may be included .... a while ago I sent Andreas a link to a website about that particular battle as he was looking for some info on it ......Originally posted by Konstantine:Does *anyone*, ahem, know if the battle of Ortona will make it onto the disc? I would really like to see the Seaforth Highlanders in action.
......... I wonder why !!

OK thanks Kingfish....
I saw it mentioned in the M3 optics thread after I'd posted. I was kinda hoping that it wasnt going to be the case were both guns were taken out Its not the way I had expected 'Twin' turrets to work.
Still we cant have everything I suppose.

Just wondering what happens on the M3 if there is a gun hit causing damage.
Does it tell you what turret is damaged ?
It would be nice to know what armourment the tank has left ... 37mm or 75mm.
I've not seen it yet ... had a gun hit but caused no damage.

This is what I'm seeing.... similar text is shown on both sides of the screen.
Whilst the game is running the what looks like white text flickers as if the text is updating.
When I used FRAPS to grab a screenshot it stopped flickering for a few seconds then came back.
Alt-Tab clears the problems .... for a while.
I'm not actually that bothered about it as its only a very minor glitch and all the in game graphics look fine.
I have FSAA off .... not 100% sure what version the driver is .... it shows as 4.4.0.3
-
You are not alone .............
From your description I think I'm seeing the same thing from time to time.
In the black area just either side of the bar that contains the game buttons I'm a thin area with what looks like text.
It's not there all the time, but appears during the game ... not sure if anything in particular is causing it but I have noticed that doing an Alt-Tab will clear it.
PC Spec:
P4 2.6Ghz 512mb ram
Nvidia Gforce4 Ti4200 128mb ram.

If you are still looking for the demo I can host it on a temp webserver later this afternoon.
If you need it then email me and I'll send you the IP address when its up .... if there were only a couple of modem users downloading from it then the speed should be pretty good and I can keep it up all weekend.
I'm not sure if it is resumable ... but it should be ... if somebody could check it and let me know I'd be grateful.
It would be based on my home PC in the UK, but in the past there have been some good connection speeds.
However, Markl ..... If things go wrong for England on Saturday morning I may just pull the connection

I've only played one scenario (and only played that once) but there do seem to have been a few changes to the infantry model.
Like others I saw quite a few men surrender, especially when their positions had been overun.
I'm not sure but there may have been other tweaks . I had a platoon that got caught if faily open ground by a Sherman and they took a morale hit down to 'panicked'... however they seemed to recover much quicker than in CMBB...
....I cant back that claim up with any stats, but it certaily felt quicker. Maybe I'll try that one again this weekend. It could just have been a one off.
Its not a complaint ... I loved the sceanrio.
Anybody else seen similar ?

The demo is mine .......
Started it up and straight away something seemed different, almost wrong !
Then it dawned on me........I could understand some of the voices
Nice work BFC
-
Pre-Order done ....
Confirmation email arrived ....
Demo inbound ...
....I should be feeling good just now ...but somehow I'm feeling like I may be too ill to make it into work tomorrow ....
-
I'm still hoping they go for......
18 Nov for the demo - Anniversary of Op Crusader. (Tomorrow !) No reason to believe they will ... but I'll be checking anyway
7 Dec for the full game - Anniversary of the end of the (242 day) seige of Tobruk.

CSM - Let me take this opportuninty to congratulate you on the arrival of your daughter.
The 'vanishing act' wasnt really a problem and understandable given the new addition to your family.
As you will have gathered I assumed you were missing, so have moved Dr Juzzy on to the final.
Regards
Lou

Yes sorry for the delay .... I should have posted this at the weekend.
I'm assuming nobody has heard from CMS Hollis.
Therefore, SteveS and Dr Juzzy are through to the final.

The overall winner will be the person with the highest combined score from both games.
Both games can be played simultaneously if you both have the time, with each player doing one setup. I'll leave you both to work out the details.
Any questions or problems let me know.
Good luck and keep us posted on game progress!

A bump to see if CSM Hollis is out there anywhere.
If no response then the final will be between SteveS and Dr Juzzy and will start this weekend.

CMMOS
in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Posted
McMMM works fine on windows ... actually thats all it works on
There is a new thread on the forum announcing the latest version .... it will also support sound mods.
As long as your mods are in .zip format you shouldnt have any problems with McMMM.
I dont want to be too critical of CMMOS as its an excellent program and I used myself for a long time, but McMMM It is much easier to use
and it can handle CMMOS mods and non-CMMOS compliant mods with ease.
Try it !
