  1. Agreed. But WWII actually happened. That gives it a different 'feel'. At least for me it does.

  3. I do realize CMSF is not intended as a Middle East Combat Construction Kit (MECCK, has a nice ring to it), however if CMSF is moddable enough I am sure the first Iraq mod will pop up soon enough I hope so anyway. I used to be interested in contemporary warfare in the NATO - WARSAW PACT days (being a cold war kid and all), but in the nineties when the cold war was over I did not care much anymore for modern warfare. But in these days with Iraq and Afghanistan my interest is somewhat revived. [ June 02, 2007, 04:34 AM: Message edited by: panzer mike ]
  4. Less than two months from release now. The screenshots/video's/previews look very promising. Even though initially I was not very convinced by the setting for this game (modern fictional), from what I've seen so far it looks like a blast nonetheless. I think the modern setting may actually be a very welcome change from WWII. It is the fictional Syria scenario that sorta put me off. But if the units/vehicles included are sufficient to recreate combat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia in custom made scenario's, I will be more than happy. The wait is almost over. Where can I preorder this puppy
  5. Yeah, I am one of those who are on the fence. Judging by the reactions on the forum (not the trolls) and the experience with the game of a guy at work who has bought it, the game has high potential, but is not quite there yet. If the patch (patches) get it right, I will surely buy TOW. But for now, I am on the fence.
  6. Looks like Poland 1939 - Fall Weiss
  7. "All we are saying ... is give peace a chance" Alltogether now ! "All we are saying ... is give peace a chance" Still singing ... still no CMxII. Oh the wait is too long. I'm gonna loose my voice soon.
  8. He Zemke. I totally agree with you. I will also wait and see, although I think I will probably end up buying the bugger Gotta support BFC or else they will run out of money to develop my much anticipated return to ETO ! Can't have that now can we ? I hope the atmosphere on the board will quickly return to normal without all these hot headed posts. I mean, after all we are a peaceful bunch of people right ? We only pick fights with pixelated enemies ! Jolly good show Zemke !
  9. Take it easy man ! No need for this kind of hefty reaction. Syria 2007 is just not my favorite setting for a game. So what ? Am I entitled to my own preferences ? I like to think so, thank you very much. I have enjoyed BTS product for the last 5 years. They make good stuff. So, I trust that CMSF will be good stuff also. Just not covering my favorite theater (WWII ETO). Am I entitled to say that? I like to think so, thank you very much. Lighten up ! By the way, I was in the army for 4 years. In the rear with the gear. Never fired a shot in anger.

  12. I'll be honest. I don't like the subject for CMSF. I am not into fictional future conflicts. So in that regard CMSF is dissapointing for me. I don't mind post WWII (although I am a WWII buff), but would have preferred Korea, Nam or Arab-Israeli wars. Maybe even Falklands But Syria 2007  But after 5 years of enjoyment thanks to BFC, I am willing to wait and see what they come up with. Maybe I will get to like CMSF after a while. Who knows ? I am sure CMSF will be a great game in itself, I trust BFC. They have delivered before So, disappointed, but eager to see CMSF come to life anyway. And ofcourse looking forward very, very much to revisit Normandy in 1944 with the new engine (ah CMBO, those were the days)! How much longer will I have to wait for that ? Doh !

  15. Tatarataaaa ! And so the Waffen Grenadiere will be a thing of the past in no time. So, "Geen centje pijn !". Or in English, "Not a penny of pain !".
  16. Hi, This is my first post on this forum. I have been lurking for almost two years though I Bought CM directly from Battlefront two years ago and have played CM for 1,5 years. The last 6 months I have been waiting for CMBB, impatiently like all the others ofcourse. I read some of the threads regarding the European distribution of CMBB. I live in Holland, so I am 'victimized' too... But I just want Battlefront to know, that I will buy CMBB despite the German distributor and the slight alterations in the European version . The BMP will no doubt quickly be fixed by the modders  and that silly "Waffen Grenadiere" name, I don't give a rats a$$ about that. I know it's the Waffen SS, and thats enough for me. As long as they look right on the battlefield, no complaining here. Glad to to know the long, long wait is almost over ! Now bring on the game ! Za rodinoe, za Stalin !
