Yes, about 5 patches ago - and that was playback issue as opposed to a recording issue.Originally posted by M Hofbauer:IIRC in IL2 the recorded movie clip in playback didnt always exactly show the same results as what had happened in reality.
was this bug ever fixed?
Keep in mind that IL-2 playback is based on code and not an actual movie clip. The file is a series of object position coordinates updated - well often. The playback routine loads the map and objects and shows you where they are at a given point in time.
The problem in the past occured when views where switched too fast or time compression was used at 4x or above. Some code was "missed" by the playback routine - hence weird events occured that didn't in the actual mission.

It would help if you could spell words correctly, used punctuation and proper syntax. Oh, and a more traditional paragraph structure might help as well.Originally posted by graetwulff:i hope you all know what i am trying to say.

I think what Andreas is driving at is that nonsense about Tigers and T-34s duking it out nose to nose w/ T-34s ramming the Tigers on some occasions.Originally posted by Andreas:Prokhorovka, the Paul Carell/Rotmistrov version of it.
All the best
Andreas
Cool this AAR is, historically accurate it ain't.

How about a translation from one of the 1C devs?

Thank you for the answers.
My personal POV on RTS/Pause/WEGO/what have you is as follows; If the game is designed as a frenetic "plates in the air" overwhelm the player w/ units/tasks click-fest than that is what you will have. From what we have heard from the devs. and the AAR's this game does not appear to be designed that way.
We all need to play the demo and form our own conclusions on that score.

First of all the game looks great - just wish I knew how you actually "do things".
Two basic questions - and pardon me if this was asked/answered before:
1. In the shot below what does the "BLOCKED" label pasted over some units signify?
http://www.simhq.com/_land2/AAR_files/image002.jpg
2. The 3D map looks huge in the screenshots - but I guess play is actually limited to the area contained in the rectangular map at the lower left hand corner, is this correct? And if so, what happens to units who approach a map edge? Do they hit an invisible wall (a la Marcel Marsou)? Can they exit?
3. What do the, "You've got a task" envelopes mean in the lower right corner of the 3D screen in this shot?

Once again - be sure to access the A-C(?) file at
cmmods.com under the designer name Birdgunner.
There are 2 titled BoB and there probably are more w/ less descriptive titles. In addition, there is a spreadsheet that summarizes all of the scenarios. You'll probably want to look at that.

Wicky;
Thanks - but I won't bother him as what I really want are SS troops in white snow smocks. Do you know who did such a mod? (Camo looks out of place in January).
Thanks,

Here is a response from Philipe about scenario packs - this may help.
Barkhorn.Don't know about packs, but almost all of the old scenarios and operations from the Scenario Depot are sitting in about six zip files at cmmods.com. Check the cmbo section under designer name Birdgunner. -
Ahhh..hence the name, "Proving Ground".Originally posted by GJK:TPG is for beta-scenarios; those that are in "playtest" mode. TSDII is for finished works.

...between Scenario Depot II and The Proving Grounds? Both seem to serve the same purpose/audience.
Just wondering,

Is there one available anywhere?

You know - I am saving them as Jpgs - to save space - perhaps that is it!
I will try to save as .BMP's - and then convert from there.

Actually, my composition is quite good - atl least I think so. It's just that the shots end up being "muddy" even though I'm using zoom and (and I have AA turned on).One reason why screenies often don't look as good as you expect is because ... well... you're probably a crappy photographer! A screenshot - like a photo - has to be composed and balanced to look better than a simple snapshot. Try playing with different camera zooms, shooting from different angles, that sorta stuff [/QB]Hey just found some Il-2 Forgotten Battle shots here:
http://community.webshots.com/user/barkhorn1x
Please ignore the R:TW shots as that game does not lend itself to good screenies either.

No - never have because I don't know what it does.
OK - here is a scenario:
- Playing as, say, the Russians
- Russian tank has two German tanks in view
- what would happen if I assigned "Next Target"
