OK, maybe you need more info? The computer locks up right after I enter a password. "Control-Alt-Delete" does nothing. Hitting the "Esc" key does nothing. This even with a small map with low number of units. It just hangs there forcing me to reboot.Originally posted by Le Tondu:It happens right after I enter a password for a TCP/IP game.
Could it be that there are no reports about this because no one has tried to play TCP/IP with 1.02 since the report of the PBEM bug????
-
What about the TCP/IP bug where the computer hangs after it asks for your password??????Originally posted by Madmatt:The ONLY thing in 1.03 is going to be the PBEM fix! Charles has already spotted the problem and we are working as best we can to get this new patch version tested and confirmed and then we wil make up all new installers, update the included documentation and get this out to you and the mirror sites.

I pretty much did what junk2drive said except I uninstalled and re-installed CMAK (not just a 2nd install) and now it works fine for my PBEM and TCP games.
-
A further note : It works ok with a hotseat game.

Uninstalling and reinstalling is it my friend.

Thank you, thank you, thank you BFC.
Thanksgiving comes early this year.
-
I would've guessed that 11-11-04 (Veteran's Day) would have been a real cool release date for the patch. Hmmm, Thanksgiving seems just as good. Don't you think?
-
So you don't have to go over there, here is what Moon said (over there) :
Indeed, no CMBB patch is planned. Either these guys mistook the upcoming CMAK 1.02 patch for a CMBB patch, or I don't know. What is true is that a polish localized version of CMBB is coming out this year into Polish retail, and if you ask me, that's great news Likewise, CMBB (and CMAK!) are coming out into Australian (and NZ) retail these days (by Red-Ant), and a Russian localized version isn't far from release either...Martin

No you are not the only one. One has to admit that there are some questionable things about this game.Originally posted by Redwolf:Am I the only one who thinks that spotters should be excluded from the casualties?
It is this sort of thing that I pray gets more attention for CMx2 than eye candy. Better graphics are fine (if your computer can handle them) but things like this and something like allowing a blizzard anywhere in Italy (in July with HOT weather) is just plain silly. Go ahead and try it --for a QB. See for yourself.
-
One has to admit that the features that are in that "article" seem pretty cool. The sun and moon moving across the sky? Color gradient in the sky? Doodads with depth?
You've clearly shot the messenger, what's so terrible about looking at the message?
-
Wasn't that used at Normandy after D-Day? Sorry, I don't think it was ever used in Africa, Crete or Italy......
Maybe for CMx2 ?
-
IF it hasn't already been said, I'd like to see the firing of smoke rounds by off map artillery not count against the artillery rounds that the spotter has available.
If he has 150 HE rounds available, smoke rounds shouldn't count against that.
Maybe smoke rounds should have their own total like armour has?

I have the same situation here and I've found that the use of nice pair of headphones is the perfect solution. I can have the volume as I like it and it is no problem at all.Originally posted by junk2drive:I've been playing without sound for quite a while. The wife and I share a room with our computers. The noise bugs her. When she is gone and I turn on the sound, I find it annoying and turn it back off.

The higher you are, the more of the enemy you see and hence can take out. Now that, is quite an advantage in my book.
-
It doesn't Pzman. I believe that was just a fancy way of saying "bump."
-
The first one is for CMBB and I can't tell about the second one.Originally posted by Alkiviadis:I suggest you look at "Kp-Tank Warning" (a.k.a. "FMR Tank Warning") at: www.bootsandtracks.com/OpDetail.php?OpID=11
also "CSDT_P1_Okiabri'skii" at: ns9.super-hosts.com/~dragonlair.net/combatmission.
Both are excellent instructive scenarios/ops,
well worth playing on their own

It is coming alright. There is a definite disturbance in the Force and the Jedi look nervous.
The only question is whether or not the new CM engine (CMx2) will get here first.

I predict that the power-ups will be improved too.

What about variable weather where the rain (or snow) stops?
-or lightens up and then stops?
-or where the fog gets thinner (or thicker)?
-or where it randomly rains or snows (depending upon the temperature) during an overcast scenario?
-or where the sun starts to shine after it being overcast?
-or where the winds increases or decreases?
-or (for the more daring) a tornado comes through and picks tanks and troops up and throws them around?
-
Now if you guys would read the manual that came with the game you wouldn't have ask. </font>Originally posted by Panzerman:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Halberdiers:
Le Tondu,
the post is not mine , but I think that Panzerman says that you can load a Quick Battle from a savegame of QB or a scenario. As it is.

Are you saying that this is useful in the middle of a TCP/IP or hotseat game?Originally posted by Halberdiers:"Can already be done. If you play a QB just load the auto save file in the quick battle when it asks to generate a map or load one.".............

What I'd like to see is have the Labels (Shift-G) last only for the turn that they happen in. --Or have what I just said be a third option to what exists now.
Playing a long game and having all those red "Eliminated" of "Abandoned" words blocking the view of what's going on is kind of hard. (I know that I can turn them off, but that doesn't help so much with what happens this turn when the KO is at a distance from the camera.)
If my Pz IVH was abandoned several turns ago, why do I still need to know it now?
Maybe a different color for each side --say red for the axis and blue for the allied?
Its just some thoughts.

OK, I will allow CMAK when 1.03 comes out and see if it still happens. Thanks Madmatt.
