For me anyway, it was the video drivers, had that same screen and have a Geforce 2 32mb card running windows xp updated to driver 27.10 from nvidia and all that garbled text went away

I am starting to think that what im dealing with is a tank have infantry all over the place ahead of me dont see much from their angle, dont see any craters form either next to the tank and such. As stated before dont see a yellow tracer like that from a plane, must be a sneaky tank somewhere, has happened for 2 turns back to back have 5 tanks unbuttoned next to each other, if a tank was eliminated by an unseen foe, wouldnt the tank next to it be able to identify the threat.

Been playing this scenerio and every now and then a tank will explode out of the blue. I am thinking im being attacked from above but do not see any evidence that im being attacked by a plane, no shadow nor do i see a tracer line. The tanks are tigers and im probably 1700m from the nearest amored unit on the opposing side. Does anyone have an idea whats kicking me to sleep out here. :confused:

Just looking for any good tweaks for XP, what I should or should not have in the startup and maybe some services that could be shut off. This pc is strickly a game box running xp pro, and wish to squeeze as much performance out of this thing as possible. I have a AMD 1800xp cpu,256 ddr memory, geforce2 mx 100/200 video card and an older hard drive *cough* 6.4gb western digital 5400rpm 8.5ms and A Maxtor 8.4 gb hard drive as a slave where cmbo runs on. I seem to get some lag when playing games and am wondering if maybe it was my hard drives or video card. At times I play cmbo and it just creeps along other times it seems to run smooth as silk, ive noticed sometimes if I reboot the game runs smooth again. Was going to upgrade my geforce2 soon, seeking some suggestions as to what would be best. I was thinking of going for the geforce 3 to save some money, any suggestions on a good brand to go with would be appreciated?

Every now and then and always on boot up when the drive is cold, I turn on the computer and the master and slave hard drives are not detected by the bios. My concern is that it is the controller in my ECS K7S5A mother board I installed but the problem has just crept up on me Ive had this mainboard for about a month now and have just started experiencing this problem. The drive set up I have in the system is a master slave setup with the master being a western digital 6gb drive and the slave being a maxtor 8gb drive they are older drives, and like I stated earlier at times I boot up and the computer has set in the off posistion a considerable amount of time the drive fails to start. I can eventually get the computer to load and once the drive is on for awhile I can not duplicate this symptom as hard as I try, could this be a motor on the drive itself not spinning up or something, any suggestions will be appreciated. :confused:

Was going to flip a coin about either getting some more ram (currently at 256mb> or going for a better graphics card <currently Geforce2 mx200>. What would yeild the better performance while playing cmbo/cmbb. I was going to go with the video card but have heard mixed opinions and would like some more suggestions before I take the hardware plunge (AGAIN). Thanks in advance :confused:

Still pretty new to this game, just needed some information on what it will take to make the multiplayer game run smooth. I would mainly need the method most widely used to communicate to other players in the unlikely event one is disconneted from the game and such.

I usually keep my distance extreme and try not to expose my rear or side, just seems that those shermans get off more accurate shots even if at extreme distances.

I was wondering does the Tiger tank seem a tad bit weak in CMBO?. I am mainly comparing this to the Shermans which seem to knock out my Tiger when going one to one with them, could it be the ammo type or tank crew experience level. It just seems like everytime I go up against a Sherman even if my tank crew is Veteran, the Tiger almost 70 percent of the time gets knocked out and this is done while the frontal armor is facing the opponent. :confused:

I'm in the middle of a battle with a bunch of pill boxes mixed with AT guns and MGs. I started off by throwing down a whole bunch of smoke to mask my approach but usually run out of smoke before I can get to the pill boxes and get ripped to shreds. I try to advance my shermans up to take some shots at them but they get kicked to sleep in a matter of minutes. I am seeking a good tactic when faced with numerous bunkers that arent grouped in the same area but have line of sight to most of my units. :confused:

I'm looking for a good combined arms battle or operation, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I am looking for any suggestions on a good mod for tank crews.

Was it possible for the Sherman tank to take out a tiger hitting it from the front at over 1500m away? I know there are alternate configurations of the sherman, just dont know to much about that particular tank. I was just curious, heard some relatives talking about how they had to get real damn close to them to be effective. :confused:

Recently I upgraded to an amd 1.8xp,got a new case but did not get a fan for the case in the front. I bought a Volcano 7 cu fan for the cpu, its loud as hell but seems to do the job. I was wondering if anyone would suggest more cooling power than what I have installed and at what threshold temp is a sign of a cpu getting to hot, I believe Ive seen my cpu running close to 120 degrees.
