  1. Nahh, let's give Yankee Dog some old surplus PzKW Is or, even better, Italian L3/33s. Then again, considering the trouble our troops are facing in the dark forest- thanks to our wonderful orders, ST would be wise to not give Zitadelle nor Yankee Dog anything with an engine and a larger gun. Maybe something with training wheels and a squirt gun.
  2. Commissar- I will check on the composition of the uniform and get back to you. I agree, I am not sure that the padded jacket would be the most comfortable thing during Russian summers (maybe a little more tolerable in the Baltic states). Then again and as you know, the Russian army didn't really care for the comfort of the troops. "Yes, comrade, we have "winterwear, summerwear, and swimwear. Very nice."* I've seen photos where they would wear the jacket only during the warmer season (if not issued the fully khaki uniform). *Old 1980s commerical reference
  3. Iron Chef- The Russians had two winter uniform combinations. Either they would wear white coveralls or a white insulated coat- that you are thinking about. Or, they would wear the khaki padded coat (the 'telogreika'). The padded coat was also worn during other months as well. There are photos of Russian assualt troops wearing it during Operation Bagration (S. Zaloga)- which was in late June/early July. For warmer months, or fighting on the southern fronts, Russians had a lighter weight khaki uniform as well. The padded uniforms- and especially the felt mittens- were highly desired by German forces throughout the eastern campaigns. German troops were generally not issued the white or reversible overalls for the first winter (1941-42). A few were sent to the ostfront, but the Germans mostly used what they could get off of dead Russians. By the way, the padded trousers were called: 'vatnie sharovari.'
  4. "The Horror. The Horror...." Much like Enron, the Poles and the Germans have decided to downsize their respective organizational structures. Needless squads and HQs have been removed from the TO&E. ("Either you fight or surf.") Zitadelle and Yankee Dog have also realized that fewer units allow for quicker transfer of files; simply because the player will have fewer orders to issue. Also, for those fighting the next battle, you may want to refrain from posting any details on units and keep things somewhat generic. Thanks for the intell from others, I know that I will be facing Pumas.
  5. For Yankee Dog and Zitadelle the carnage has really begun! The early phase (see earlier post) was nothing compared to where we are now and probably going. Yes, stens and MP44s are really nasty at point blank range! As for Vader and Dragon, you'll just have to wait and soon find out about the next scenario. We requested it from SuperTed last night, and both Yankee Dog and Zitadelle need to think about the setup for that one (we've exchanged setup files to keep both on the same intell level, but Yankee Dog has not issued the "official setup"). Talk about a radically different approach. Excellent work SuperTed!
  6. Yeah, YankeeDog is correct. An early surprise in our battle. Intell has it that there are quite a few dead deer in the woods; some with Sten SMGs and others with MP40s. The AARs for this battle will be great reading! For all the Newbie Rejects- hurry up and get your questionaires into SuperTed. This battle is really worth it!
  7. T(h)anks everyone for the quick response for the sky mods! Of course I won't be needing the mods for the first battle in the Newbie tourney- a basic grey/black background will do just fine. I'll have enough trouble finding myself in the dark. Now, to send out that setup file.
  8. Simple question. I am updating all the *.bmp files in CMBO, and I am looking for excellent sky mods. Which sky mods do the forum members recommend?
  9. I really shouldn't see this anyway- considering how rare the unit was.... A correct T26E4 Super Pershing as the only two briefly served in late April, 1945. Of course it should have the welded on Panther front plate and the additional hydraulic recoils mounted on the turret roof to support the extended length barrel and thicken mantle.
  10. Not that BTS needs any defense, but they have already developed the rarity system for CMBB. I don't think that the code will change this late in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). We can all argue how we want them to design/develop the software, but it's already been done and the software is in testing. I congratulate them on creating a wonderful game, and I am eager to try the new concepts in CMBB. Let's end this trend, and let BTS get back to work rather than responding to our requests.
