  1. To me, it seems as if tank groups get a greater penalty for attacking entrenched defenses. So if you use armies to soften up first, and finish them of with tank groups you should get the best results. Tank groups are also good for counter attacks, and exploiting penetrated lines, just don't run to far ahed of your airsupport and HQ;s.
  2. I used the same colours, the rest I've done myself. All icons are standard military symbols, and there are not in so many ways you can do it. I just addad a little cleaner look, and highlight to get a little 3d effect. [ June 20, 2002, 09:28 AM: Message edited by: Jorgen_Cab ]
  3. I have now updated my unit sprites according to sgt Eagles know how, and I hope they are more historicaly accurate now... Unit sprites
  4. Ok, I will fix these things as soon as I can, I apreciate your input, I'm no expert in military symbols and had no time researching it. The dots on the left are not meant to be historical in any way, just a way to easily identify wich tech level the unit belongs to. Something more like this perhaps... 5. The only thing I used from your mod was the colour(I liked them), nothing else. I have drawed the rest by my own hands. If something is unrealistic, I'd be happy to change that. Be so kind to point out the flaws. [ June 18, 2002, 04:41 PM: Message edited by: Jorgen_Cab ]
  6. Yes, you may post it if you wish. I have also edited the strength numbers, made them brighter for the minor contries tokens.
  7. I'm glad that you liked it. Though I've discovered an error; the Italian Corp looked like an Army. I have corrected this mistake now, you may wish to download it again. [ June 18, 2002, 01:30 PM: Message edited by: Jorgen_Cab ]
  8. Hello! I have managed to modify most tiles for a more historical look. I have tried to make them look as good as I can, could have worked a little harder perhaps, but that can wait to later after the game are released. Two preview shots, and the file ready for download below. Unit Sprites
  9. There should not be any Mechanized units, Tank groups are mechanized as they are. Even an armoured division have plenty of Motorised infantry and armoured infantry in addition of allot of tanks. Even Armies have a few Tank companies I believe. Though, Tank groups could get the option of either move/attack or attack/move, but I don't consider it an important option.
  10. I have no problem with it, a Battleship fleet will do around 0-2 damage on a army or tank group, which cost me maybe 0-50 to repair, I then attack him with an air fleet and do 2-5 damage and sustain 0-2 damage, that will cost him allot more than it cost me. He will have to go back to port and retool and repair the damage. So all in all, using your Battleship fleets to attack ground targets is not such a great idea, just as it was in real life. Though, you shouldn't be able to destroy a land unit with either naval or air units in my opinion anyway.
  11. I do think that air recon are already modelled in the game since Airfleets have a spotting range of 5, and Strategic bombers a spotting range of 6. The FOW option in the game feels very realistic to me, it wasn't to easy figuring out troop movement during WW2 as you might think.
  12. I do agree that attacking the US is far too easy. Though, you could solve this problem by several means. First they should have quite a large MPP pool from the start if Germany declares war against them, as already suggested. They should get two additional Cruisers but no Carriers, since I don't think that they had any in the Atlantic during 39-41. You could give them national waters by one hex of the coast. You may not enter them before you declare war. This would stall the invasion for one turn and their fleet would massacre your transports heavily. You could also add one more air fleet and an HQ. This would make things pretty hard for the German player to attack early in the game. [ May 24, 2002, 08:51 AM: Message edited by: Jorgen_Cab ]
  13. I have used exactly that tactic, I shipped over two Italian armies and an Italian HQ and a German Airfleet. I destroyed the allied fleet outside Alexandria, still I do think another hex would be apropriate and if we would be able to bombard the city itself wouldn't be to much work to change. 14. In my opinion there are to little space to fight in northern Africa around Egypt. You can only attack with one land unit against Alexandria. Also my Battleships can't attack the city since the harbour block the only hex that can effectively attack the city. Couldn't we be able to use those half exes on the edge also, that would allow us to attack the city from two hexes at once. I could land a unit behind the city, but my supply drop too much if I do that. I would advice to move the port so that bombardment against the city i possible, likewise with Tobruk.
  15. In my opinion there could be motorized armies and corps, which should give them one extra AP, but no other advantages than that. This could represent the motor heavy armies that the US used. But that is my opinion only...
