  1. I want to get a laptop that will run CM well. Don't need one for any games other than CM. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
  2. I'll give it a try - ry9662@aol.com Make sure you send it to the scenario depot so it can be reviewed, too.
  3. I too at times have seen a tank "blow itself up" by firing at crunchies that were too close to the tank. Maybe a gamey way of defeating a tank in CM though.
  4. Go to the Scenario Depot and download it: http://www.dragonlair.net/combatmission/ Don't forget to review it there also if you do play it!
  5. I think there are enough of us just in the NC area to do something like this. I'm willing to keep track. How about a tourney where we play and then meet and buy the winner free drinks in the Raleigh-Durham area? Anyone interested? If we can get at least a half dozen folks, I think it might be worth the effort.
  6. Hey now, Fort Bragg, North Carolina here. Let's just have an NC get-together. Those people way down yonder south of us don't have cars, I don't think.
  7. Try messing around with the "anti-aliasing" stuff on your video card settings. for some reason, I need to change my settings to 4 way anti-aliasing and it fixes that problem for me. I have the same problem with the text as you when I'm on any other setting. I have a voodoo 5 card. Maybe some guru on here could explain the reason for this.
  8. OK, first of all DISCLAIMER - I'm not an expert on video card stuff. However, I was in a local computer shop talking to one of the people in there. I asked the guy what he personally would do to upgrade my system for max game performace/price. This guy said to wait for the new motherboard with onboard Nvidia with AMD Athlon 1.7 GHz chip that's coming out in September. He's said there wouldn't be a need for a video card cuz the Nvidia junk (whatever the hell that is) will be built into the board. He said that you could still buy a video card and just disable the onboard Nvidia for when the onboard stuff gets obsolete down the road. But he said that this onboard video will run any game that's out there now with no probs. He said the board plus chip would cost about 350 bucks. Anyway, what do you video experts think of all this? Crap? Good advice? Should I get it? OstFront6
  9. Holy crap, why didn't I ever think of that! I knew all those AOL mailings had to be good for something. And to think I've been throwing out all those cases - aaaargh!
  10. i'll take a look at it if you email it to me... ryan
  11. Yep, make sure to post reviews for sure, especially the "new!" battles and operations. The guy doing this site needs to go into the CM hall of fame!
  12. "I'm sorry if they only have 4 people on the payroll. This is their job. Any business without timely shipping and customer service is NO BUSINESS AT ALL." Yeah, maybe these 4 pathetic people who put too much effort in creating an awesome game that puts the "industry" to shame ought to say the hell with it because cornboy didn't get his cd within 72 hours of processing.
  13. Wow! I must also add my shameless plug for this site! Yes, I am also one of the johnny come lately's to this site. Maybe I can get through the 700+ battles posted there before CM2 comes out!!!!
  14. Not being a programmer myself, maybe I'm asking too much, but I just wonder how hard it would be to be able to put random forces on a pre-made map. It would be awesome to be able to play the computer or someone else on a pre-made map with random features. Maybe I just need to get a life though.
  15. Anyone know if we'll be able to create a map ourselves and be able to do a quick battle with it in CM2? If not, why not?
