  1. well i too was dissapointed at the lack of a tcp/turn based system like CM1.

    however,

    most people in the know are on skype thesedays and sending the files via skype is only marginally slower than a straight game connection.

    ive managed 2 battles via this option today,no real big deal

    in fact i was playing 2 games at once

    so i think you need to TTFU a bit:)

  2. no,they were certainly occupied,they were within 20m of a quality rifle platoon.who werent too happy with the amount of fire coming from the tanks at pretty much point blank range

    i suspect its something to do with the trees we were all in.

    id say at least 8 anti tank attempts were made with apparent visual hits,all inside 50m or less,i havent been able to reproduce this yet.

  3. yea,got my pak 40 smashed in this way in *busting the bocage*

    opened up on infantry at 600m which crossed into its *target arc*

    shreck teams may require a look at

    in the same scenario,the shreck team gave away its position,whilst i was moving it into position for a shot on a sherman,by,the 2nd member of said team,opens fire on the sherman with his rifle,alerting the tank crew and getting themselves killed,BEFORE the shreck fires a shot,the fool

    another thing i had happen in the same scenario

    my remaining pak40,killed a sherman at 300m,one shot all good

    his 2nd attempt on another two shermans a bit later,at 100m,the tanks appeared to take multiple hits in the side turret with no apparent effects.

    the tanks were in the tree line very close to my trenches,and i just couldnt knock them out

    ok i said,must be hitting the tree trunks everytime it fires,and wasted alot of ammo on these targets until they moved out of LOS

    so

    i move two seperate shreck teams to deal with them,

    and team one does the above,and the 2nd team nails the sherman in the side at 30m with no effect,expending all its ammo,with no noticable result

    a few rifle platoons unload their antitank assets on the same targets,through the following turns at 20 -30m,and score what look like good hits, but these two shermans,right in close to my trenches,just cant be killed.

    i had around 5 infantry assets within 50m or less of these tanks,the tanks basically charged my trench line and then sat there.while my troops expended all there ammo on them,and then became helpless against the shermans.

    on the other side of town,i had a grenadier platoon moving up through the bocage and fire a faust at a sherman at around 200m while they were under a move command

    granted i didnt have their HQ close by,so i can accept they were green or just trigger happy.

  4. OK, it sounds like the alternate file is the one for me.

    Out of curiosity, has anyone made a file that is "this makes it most like CMx1, as far as possible"? Maybe that's what the alternate achieves? I better go look :)

    im so used to CMAK layout,that i need to change the current new layout pronto,before i get someone killed:)

  5. Let's try this angle. Please tell me what system I would need to run the game with all in game settings max at 1920x1200 with 8xAF 2xAA Vysnc on and keep fps 30 or higher, preferably 60 fps?

    Because I have:

    Q9650 @3.6Ghz

    EVGA 580 gtx SSC (270.61 drivers - latest)

    4GB DDR2

    Vista64

    ...and I'm getting into the teens at time during playback with:

    no AA, 8x AF, no Vsync, Best models, Improved LOD, High Priority.

    Shadows seem to be the biggest killer often taking over 20fps by turning them on.

    i have a Q6600 @ 3.0Ghz

    2 x EVGA 460 oc

    4GB DDR2

    Win7 64

    and im getting well over 70fps according to my EVGA precision and Fraps

    whilst its early days and i cant be certain of anything yet,id suggest you should be able to at least match my rig if not best it

    i used to have alot of performance issues with vista in certain games

    but i would hesitate to say for certain its the problem

    maybe try some older drivers and retest it?

    im using the same drivers as you,from EVGA itself

  6. its pretty easy,mate

    head over to the cmmos section at CMHQ and you will find all the cmmos compatible mods there.

    dont worry about the grumpy bastards in here,the worlds full of them.

    most mods will/should say cmmos compatible.

    if so,just store them in a folder named cmmos mods or something,and open cmmos,select the cmbb tab,hit config,and point it towards your stored mods,,that easy......you will need all the rulesets for it to work though...all over at CMHQ.
