  1. Updated video card driver sloved said problem.
  2. So I'm playing a game and decide to stop and save it on my mac- no problem, now, when I return to the game ALL of the graphics on EVERTHING is nolonger colored and detail but instead everting is visually defined with different sizes of the same black panel with the letter "a" in the center in white. This may be hard to imagine, but it looks like something out of William Gibsons brain, VERY surreal. any ideas out there? I've got a voodoo5 in a g3 (that's upgraded for 8600).
  3. Got it. It infact does say "Destroy Mission" right at the top of the briefing. The next time I play this operation I will employ guerrilla tactics as opposed to front tactics. Perhas the best move I did in the last game was to send out a lone platoon out into the northern forrest at night, I was hoping to draw attacking resources away from a weak front. Instead of resistance I found three trucks in a field unguarded. To my satisfaction all three were left to burn and the platoon was chased back into the forrest by a panzer rerouted for the city fighting.
  4. Its was pretty bloody. I (at the end) hadone tank and one utility car still functional, but I had several dozenfooted units, including 3 bazookas, 3 mortars and 5 machine guns. I was in no position for a strong offensive, but could have held the town against the onslaught expected on the last night (that never came). I think I know where you are going though. If I suffered severe losses BUT HELD THE TOWN, would that not constitue a minor voctory? In the breifing it states specifically not to withdraw, with no notes about fource preservation. I understand that a point system is in play, does anyone the point system in terms of fulfilling the mission goal versus losses?
  5. I played the operation: Ardennes-Team Desobry01 from the American side against the computer with the computer set at the #2 experience level. Many tanks destroyed but I hold the town throughout all six battles. The enemy never sets foot in the town, infact on the sixth battle they did not even make an attempt. OK so I'm a bad mo-fo right?! I held the town as ordered, but in the summary screen the game is scored as a draw?!?!?! Am I missing something here? Is there a specific exit point that I am supposed to guard. If my losses were high does that not get seriously offset by the fact the I held the town completely. I need some pointers here
  6. OK. That makes sense. Had I known, I could have saved poor bazooka guy the long hike. Speaking of which, his demise was rather epic: Man on hill top alone and exposed points bazooka at tank and fires.......Tank turret turns and makes smoking hole of man.
  7. As I wait for the UPS guy to freakin deliver my full copy on CM to my doorstop. I play "Valley of Trouble" again and again and again. In the last game, the reinforcing Panzer was tucked behind a small cottage at the far end of the screen. I used offboard artillery (I think) and taretted the tank for several turns. Minus one cottage. Later I finally get the bazooka guy up real close to line em' up and lo, the pazer's tracks have been disabled. Did the artillery do that or did the bazooka guy sqeeze one when I was not looking?
  8. I can not download the mac Combat Mission Beta scenario. Any ideas?null
