1. ...and where can we get CMMOS version 3.0? I just downloaded this awesome jeep mod, and quickly noticed that it was lacking the ruleset. I'm not too good with programming... could someone that is please perform this service of making it CMMOS compatible? Please please please
2. WOW! Niiiiiiiiiiiiice work! I have one request... Can you make a series of "dirty" vehicles CMMOS compatible?
3. I personally like PANZER LEADER by Heinz Guderian (good perspective on both fronts) and TIGERS IN THE MUD by Otto Carius (very difficult to find). Cheers
4. Thanks Richard. This is the constructive criticism that I'm looking for before sending these guys to the Scenario Depot. Oooops on the "American" / "British" by way! LOL I'll fix that and other things that I've been informed about. Cheers
5. Guys, I'd like some feedback on my two new scenarios. Please email me with your input so as to not give anything away on here. Cheers
6.
quote:
Now what you are suggesting is scouting with tank crews. SO then there would have to be a difference between the spotting ability of a tank crew that you asked to dismount and go out spotting and a tank crew that has abandoned its mount....

Something similar is already done with shocked crews, no? As for tank crews exiting the vehicle to scout because of lack of infantry units... Tank commanders scouting the terrain in front of them was a usual act. Wittmann did it. Carius also did it (and was severely injured ((shot 3 times and survived)) during one instance on the Eastern Front. Also, in the first example I cited (Villers-Bocage), it would be nice and more realistic to have scenarios were you catch an enemy unit with "their pants down". The carnage that Wittmann caused speaks volumes in itself mainly because of this element.
7. Tom, I never mentioned re-crewing abandoned vehicles. With that, I agree that vehicles that are abandoned are done so for some good, incapacitating reason. However, for purposes of scouting or switching crews for some other reason (on functioning vehicles), I don't see a problem. [ 10-31-2001: Message edited by: themaltese ]

8. Why is it that we can't have our tank crews (or all vehicle crews for that matter) board or exit their vehicles? If this were possible, scenarios dealing with actions like Villers-Bocage (were Wittmann scouted the scene on foot and observed unmanned British armor, with crews lingering around doing other things) could be more realistic. Also, again using the Villers-Bocage example, Wittmann ran out of ammo (and I believe was also low on fuel) for his Tiger, and then ran back to get another Tiger to finish off the job. In CM, when we have a tank suffer an "immobile", we could exit our crack or elite crew, and move them into a "mobile" vehicle. We could also replace crews that have suffered a casualty. I'm no programmer, but would this addition actually be possible?
9. Yeah! Intellivision was cool! I've still got a ton of cartridges including my all time favorite -- Sea Battle. Armor Battle and B-17 (with the voice module) were pretty cool too. But alas... my CMBO disc won't fit in this baby. It won't fit in my old Amiga 500 either Also, I tried to use the CMBO disc as a sleep aid on my stereo system -- that didn't work either! ug..ug..ug...uWAAAaaaaaaah! uWAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
10. Wow! Great picture, Skipper! LOL I certainly wouldn't expect the babes (for the most part) in "Cross of Iron" or the babe in "Stalingrad". ** too bad that there won't be female soldiers in CMBB just imagine the mod work! LOL
11. Hey Field M. 'Just got your email, and I appreciate the feedback via email -- I didn't think about posting spoilers on here. I'll do the same for you for your new V or V. Cheers
12. I march them into a large building and put them under the responsibility of a Col. Klink and Sgt. Shultz. By the way... Why is it that you can't put them on trucks or something?
13. ...which brings us to the issue of mods for Russian female soldiers in CMBB
14. LOL Yes, "Alpine Venture" is a real sweat machine. "The Three Stugs" would be better suited for less time consuming entertainment (note that you should play it first as the Allies, and then as the Germans). I based it on a real incident involving 3 Stugs (I believe). Enjoy!
15. Hi Wayne. "The Three Stugs" is relatively small both in map size and turn #. "Alpine Venture" is huge and has 100 turns (which, I think you'll need).
16. Hey everyone. Please try my scenarios. I've made a good attempt, I hope, in creating a couple of good ones this time.
17. I'll take one too, please. GDMalta@aol.com While we're at it, could you guys try my scenarios? I've got two of them with links to download in my "Thank you for CMMOS... "thread. Cheers
18. Whoa! ...speaking of female tenacity... Does anyone know if BTS will make female soldiers available for mod in CMBB?
19. ...by the way... How much longer before we see the Tiger and Stug "stuff"?
20. 'Very true about this XP / Microsoft / hidden agenda / they control your computer, not you / thing... Millenium was just a market study, but I fear that XP is the real thing. All in all, if not continuing to cater to the Win98, Win2000, and Mac crowd, BTS would perhaps be better off putting resources into the Linux crowd!
21. I still can't believe all this fuss over the irrelevant relationship between a game that's not out yet, an OS that's only just recently been released, and one of many video cards! Linda, either make your computer dual bootable with XP and 98; scrap you vid-card and get another one; or just use an older computer with just 98 installed on it for games and a newer computer for work. It's not any single entity's particular fault that you can't run certain software on certain OSs -- it's the nature of the rapid advance of technology. Before upgrading to a new OS or going out to buy a new computer, ask yourself, "Why am I doing this?" When you answer that first, you'll be a lot happier. I do this every day before going out to ride one of my motorcycles. If I want comfort for long distance or to hang out with a Harley crowd, I ride my Harley. But if want to enjoy a fast, knee dragging ride through back road curves or race at the track, my Kawasaki ZX-7 is the weapon of choice. Relate this to your CM problem and hopefully you can see that uninstalling CM because it doesn't go with XP is as ridiculous as me selling my ZX-7 because I can't take long trips on it! Everything has a purpose. I chose to dual boot enable my system with Win98 only because I wanted to be able to play games on my computer. I've got a ton of older stuff that just won't work on 2000 (and more than likely on XP), but it's mostly games!
22. This is why you should have either two computers (one for work and one for play) or have a killer computer with dual booting OSs and appropriately partitioned single hard drive or dual hard drives (I've got an incredible Dell with which I can either boot Win98 or Win2000Pro, whose hard drive I partitioned into 4 ((1. Win98 OS, 2. Win98 programs which are mostly games, 3. Win2000 OS, and 4. Win2000 applications which are mostly work.) For graphics card, I use a Matrox with dual display capacity feeding to two 21' monitors. Now, as for upgrading to WinXP.... Why? Perhaps on my business laptop... but I'd face a King Tiger with a Stuart before trading in the firepower of my home computer setup for the lousy excuse of upgrading to the latest OS, and not being able to play virtually all the games that I barely have the time to enjoy now and then.
23. Hi Bodi. It might help if I put the .zip extension on the destination file I fixed the problem, tested it, and it works. Have at it.
24. Greetings all! First off, I would like to thank all the individuals involved in both developing and providing mods for CMMOS! Talk about adding another dimension to an awesome game! Second, I've created 2 new scenarios-- both designed to be played as the Allies first. Feel free to download them through the following links and then provide comments for feedback here on this post. The Three Stugs Alipine Venture Enjoy them! Cheers! [ 11-03-2001: Message edited by: themaltese ]

25. Geez! The first reaction I would have had is "no more drinking while playing CMBO"!!! Next, I would have scrambled for my bazooka, scanned the surroundings for panzers, and called for re-enforcements!
