  1. Hi Lane, Schroener. I've just updated the rules to make that clearer. Schroener, you are close... Only mistake is that you can buy individual units out of a larger organization, such as a Battalion. The idea here is not to restrict you, but to offer a changing variety of units for the Task Forces to experience. Oh - and also note the section in italics - if you have points left, but nothing was generated in that category, you can choose what you want from the normal QB Purchase List. Here's the latest version (V2.3 - to be released soon) of that section of Rule 12: Buy the Task Force Units out of the Task Force Offerings generated by the Auto QB (49). Do not exceed the points generated in the sections (29 to 35) for each category, but buy as many Task Force Offerings as you can. You may buy individual units within an organization, such as a Company or Battalion. If you have points left after buying all the Task Force Offerings in a category or if you have points left, but not enough to buy a specific unit, you can choose what you want to buy from the normal QB Unit Purchase List (within that category only) until you have used up the purchase points for that category. As an example, for a battle in August 1941, (49) generated three 81mm mortar spotters. You rolled 'Regular' quality for your Task Force units, and have 250 points for Artillery support. Since 'Regular' 81mm mortar spotters start at 93 points, you buy two. You do NOT have enough points remaining to purchase the last generated 81mm spotter. You may now use your remaining points in that category for any available Artillery unit in the Unit Purchase List (except air units of course). You could get a 75mm spotter for 39 points (leaving 25 points for spending). Since no Artillery unit costs 25 points or less, you lose those points. If you have points left in a category and wish to buy from the normal QB unit list, you are not allowed to change Nation, Division or Experience… If you have points left in a category and there are no units on offer in the normal QB list for that Nat/Div/Exp. - Tough luck - you lose the points. 2. I NEED MORE MAPS!! The patch should be out within a week or 2 and soon thereafter I want to bring out the latest updates for 41 and 42 with a new map pack, if possible. If you have some maps you would like to submit, post here or mail me. Biltong
  3. Hi Snowbart, With CMAK on the horison, some of you might want to speed things up a bit. I've just added the following to Note 1 Date (Both 41 & 42) If you want to play a Quick Campaign - add 2 to the die-roll. If you want to play a Super-Quick Campaign - add 4 to the die-roll.
  4. I haven't tried it, but judging from the thread it looks like it's been solved. The final patch should be out soon. BTW - Have you started looking at 42 yet? Some of the new appendixes in 42, such as Delayed Armor Replacement, could easily be applied in 41 as well, but I have no idea how that will impact Biltaid. Would it be possible to make something like that optional (in both 42 and 41) without spending weeks programming? I want to make most (if not all) new rules into optional appendixes, so that playes can choose the mix/complexity that they prefer. The new post-patch version of 42 (v1.2) will have the SE option and I plan to include an option where, after Counter/Immediate attacks, the Axis get replacements, but they arrive later – if at all, for 43 South. All of these, the players will be able to impliment from the start, in 41 South, if they want to.
  5. My ex-wife told me I had to choose between her and the stupid game...
  6. Battle 6 - you roll up 60 points for Attached units and decide to buy a PSW 231 at 51 points. At this stage all 3 Attached Unit slots are full. Battle 7: you roll up 50 points and decide to upgrade your PSW 231. You now have 51 + 50 = 101 points to buy a replacement with (not 60 + 50 = 110). Hope this example helps to clear it up.
  7. Hi Snowbart, Yep - yes on all counts. Note: No tanks or arty allowed! When you get extra points, add them to the points used, not to the points rolled up before.
  8. You can have them whenever you want them See Note 6 - Battle Group: "If you have a favorite Inf. Co that you would prefer to deploy or, down the line, you want to upgrade your company or armor to something else – Do so. By design, BCR enables and encourages players to do just that." No - You are forced to buy cheap and crappy stuff, so that you can learn how to play with them as well However, as soon as you earn more points, you can upgrade those units to the 'good stuff' that you realy want... See Note 15 - Attached Units (off course) "You may not have more than three Attached Units. If you already have 3 and get more points you can upgrade one of your Attached Units using the extra points and buy something better. Use the Experience of the replaced unit."
  9. I've just mailed Scooby - he'll have it up in a couple of days. Go well Biltong
  10. Must say I've also had some strange experiences with my armor... I now get them into position and then hunt forward in a straight line only with a single way point and keep well away from trees and other armor. But the patch should be out soon.
  11. BTW Snowbart - where did you download it from? I want to test and send again if necessary. Biltong
  12. Hmmm - something must've gone wrong during your download or with the hosting. No matter - here's the notes: * Tanks are all Armor found in the Allied Armor category in the Unit Editor of the Scenario Editor * Light Armor are all armored vehicles such as Half Tracks; Armored Cars etc found in the Allied Vehicles category. * Vehicles are all non-armored vehicles such as Trucks, Jeep etc found in the Allied Vehicles category ** These points are per HQ team *** Note: Your Favor may not increase by more than 50 points per battle. Your guess is good See Note 6 - Battle Group: "Please note that the point cost changes with fitness, quality and date, so the price is not a constant. Check before each battle for a change. Use a QB with the right parameters and remember to set Quality!" Glad you enjoyed your 1st battle - Welcome
  13. Well - as soon as you're ready - I'll post v2.3 Just joking waiting for the patch. Want to work on the SE option this week-end.
  14. Have faith friends – over the years I’ve noticed that BFC don’t say much, but they do listen and they have a propensity to surprise us – time and again…
  15. Hmmm - it does not have to be so. IMHO it simply means the campaign was poorly designed. In the case of CMBB it is quite easy and realistic to increase the difficulty level as time progresses(from the Axis pov). High casualties (winter/counter offensives) - replacements progressively deteriorating in quality - Allied quality and quantity progressively increasing. No need for boredom to set in at all. Equipment gets better, but on both sides. In BCR there's also a player experience modifier that kicks you up to a more difficult level if you win too many battles... Boredom means sloppy design - that's all.
  16. Yes - allowed. If the Soviets are in such a bad state to accept your ceasefire - good for you. There is nothing that's gamey in BCR. This is war and there are no rules! If you can get an advantage in any way - grab it! You'll need it when the winter starts knawing at your bones
  17. Steve, Charles, Matt et all – Thanx for being accommodating with the SE/QB ammo setting issue. All the BCR players will be pleased. I know it could not have been high on your priorities list, but as always you delivered. A company that listens, cares and responds – Great way for keeping customers – You are doing good.
  18. Biltaid is truly GREAT!!! It's even forcing Seahawk to take over rule support and give me a break Attaboy Seahawk - Go for it and much thanx Seriously... Someone mentions setting HQ capabilities etc in the Scenario Editor. Once the new patch is out I'm planning to incorporate the setting of ammo, experience and names for each squad/team/HQ. But only for 42 South (and onwards). 41 South's rules will remain as is to give Biltaid time to settle down. I'm planning to expand the rules gradually from year to year. For instance: I'm planning to include a new rule for 43 South where replacements are requested in the case of an immediate or counter attack, but they might be delayed to various degrees (or not arrive at all). HQ capablilities and their upgrade is also on the list, as well as using Squad HQ's to replace a killed Company CO. (Also for 43 South) I'm planning to make all these additional rules optional - as stand alone Appendixes. As you'll see from the Delayed Armor Replacement rules (Appendix D) in 42 South. This means that you could impliment it in earlier years as well if you wish. However, I'm not sure if this is possible while using Biltaid. Seahawk once you start on 42, you can have a look and let me know how these optional appendixes impact Biltaid and if there's anything I can do from the rules side to make your life easier.
  19. Hi Seahawk, The above point is not quite correct: Note 12 - Generating the real battle: "If you have points left after buying all the Task Force Offerings in a category or if you have points left, but not enough to buy a specific unit, you can choose what you want to buy from the normal QB unit list. In other words - buy as many Task Force units as you can from the generated units, but if you have points left - you win - you can buy what you want from the QB list. Remember: You can/must also buy individual teams such as MG teams etc that might be part of a platoon to use up your points. If you have points left in a category, but there's no generated unit or a unit on the QB list cheap enough, then you do lose those points. For infantry this will normally be just a couple of points, but for armor it can be a bit more. Biltong
  20. Thanxs Cmndr - That looks easy enough BTW - the sites are not mine - I've send you an e-mail explaining how things work. And thanxs for taking over Biltaid - a lot of guys need/use it Biltong

  22. Yes - pls - It will save me time typing it up
  23. Lets see what the final patch offers first. I've never used the editor option myself. I'll test it and then write up a rough to run past the BCR Team - some of them has used the SE option for some time - and then only launch the new version. I'm hoping we'll be able to set experience, ammo and names for each unit. I suspect it will be possible from what SS reports.
  24. My mistake - I've started on 2.3 but it's not out yet. 2.2 is the one on site at the moment. It does have what you need though
  25. Hi Benpark - Thanx for the offer. What about South 43 (post Stalingrad)? - have a look at what battles were important in that year. I'll mail you the latest Map Makers Suggestions - there's a whole section on Battle Packs. T'morrow - I'm off to bed
