cmx2 what will be the fundemental difference?
kappa replied to stikkypixie's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
how about having a few keys that, if pressed highlights either armor units, infantry or bunkers etc. That would make the battlefield so much more clear, because there is always some unit that you forgot about or did not see, that gets your tank knocked out! -
I want to ask a few of you guys, who know more about programming then I do. about how easy or hard it would be to allow any future releases of CM to be played by more then 2 people? e.g. if 2 people play for one side, each player can choose what units he will control----->so one player controls the tanks the other infantry, or both control parts of the tanks and infantry etc etc. this would allow to play bigger battles, because you alone dont have to move every unit yorself, depending on how meny plyers there are. cheers

I shot the MG 74 quite a few times during my service in the Austrian Army (MG 74 is the modified version, or should we say less effective version, RPM was reduced from 1000's to 600's) even though it did not shoot as many rounds as the MG 42 it did not have that much of recoil, so I could imagin shooting from the hip, would not be that accurate but quite effectiv for keeping a lot of heads down.

I would just like to know if we can expect CMBB to work on OSX (if Battlefront dose a patch) or would it mean that Battlefront would have to rewrite the entier game for it to work on OSX ?(which would mean we have to wait for CM3 ) cheers
-
I've got a mac and only now am i starting to use mods in CMBB, but my old mod converter (CMBO) dose not work anymore for CMBB! Dose anyone know which one I could get and where? Thanks alot!!

OK, but why do you want to have the turrent a x degrees, one always assumes the threat will come from a certain area. You dont alway change your mind when you move, which would be the case with a fixed turrent!
-
I am sorry to say, but my opinion (and eden's) still makes more sense. All the things mentioned by you guys can still be done with the arc having two fixed points! Why would any one want to cover a area that is constantly changing when the tank is moving, say like 8 to 12 o'clock? Before you start to move your tank there will be a spacific area that you want to cover, damm it!, and that is not possible because the arc always moves with the tank! cheers
-
thanks eden, that is exactly what i mean. As for the other comments, what you said about a tank covering your left flank for example, he can still do that if you give him exactly the two points that you consider your left flank! plus, as i said before, you can cover a spacific area from which you might expect enemy armor to come from, obviously even areas that you cannot see yet (so you cannot order another tank to cover it for the others) thanks for the comments cheers

the idea of cover arcs are great, but there is one big problem; why do the two points that one places on the battlefield, to create the arc, not stay where they are when the vehicle is moving? If you want to cover, say, a gap in a wooded area from armour, while your vehicle is driving by, you have to make a huge arc so that this one gap stayes covered, because the arc moves WITH the vehicle, which is absolutly unlogical. So I just wanted to know what you guys think about this. cheers

You guys at Battlefront, cant you make FT explode when they are elimminated (bullet piercing the gas tank) in your next update? Would add a nice little detail to the game. Sorry, had to ask, just saw a docu on flamethrowers in WW2:D
-
the other thing i noticed is that once the battle is over you get to see all the remaining enemy troops on the battle field. It often happens that I see whole fresh tank platoons (actually found apx. 13 russian tanks who had not seen combat sit in one corner of the battlefield doing nothing the whole game) infantry battalionsetc. Why is it that the AI simply dose not use all of its forces?
-
I was just wondering about how hard or easy CMBB is for you guys? (AI dose not get any experience and fog of war is set to full) It just seems to me that the A I is not very hard to beat, sure sometimes it might be a close battle, but actually I have won every battle i played until now (apx. 7). I would really like to know how hard you guys think it is? Cherrs!

Can any of the people who already have CMBB make a few scenarios for thoes of us who just have the demo, or is there some sort of security thing in the demo that dose not allow other scenarios in the scenarios folder? Vielen dank nochmals!!!!!!

I have not seen any post from Mad matt, Steve or any one else from Battlefront for a week? No replies on the cool "shadow" mods that George-III created? (I‘d really like to hear someone form Battlefront to comment on that) I hope the explanation for this is that Battlefront decided to save on packaging and are working around the clock to wrapping up CMBB CDs and getting them ready for shipping!

CMBO and CMBB for Mac OS X
kappa replied to Lucas Villegas-Aristizabal's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
yes i would use the OS X version -
Now that the release of CMBB cannot be that far away, why will nobody give us a exact date, or at least give us the demo (we promise not to write any posts or e-mails about what we want to have changed until the game is actually released, wont we everyone?) The pain of waiting for this ultimate WW2 SIMULATION is just unbareable thanks

Late Request For CMBB Tank Command
kappa replied to Night_Rider's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
what would probably work best is if you could control the main gun and the MG individualy. e.g.order your main gun to target armour and let your MG target infantry.
