  1. Thanks very much for the info, everyone. It was very illuminating... well, most of it, anyway. Next time I need to brew some tea, I know where to turn. Zipper
  2. Hi tank grogs, I'm looking for information about US, British, and Canadian tank crews in WWII. Specifically: ranks, primary and secondary responsibilities (e.g., was there a designated mechanic?), training, verbal commands, standard tactics, and more. battlefield.ru has some great Soviet oral histories that often illuminate many of the things I'm looking for - is there an equivalent site for western forces? Any info or pointers greatly appreciated. Thanks, Zipper
  3. I think it helped that the customs declaration form was marked "Gift" with a value of $5. That's a good way to sneak past customs. I received it in Vancouver yesterday (Tuesday). Zipper
  4. I got it in Vancouver today!! Order number 81350 if that means anything to you. I ordered it on Sep 9. Installing now...
  5. I have a Dell laptop (8100) running WinME and I've seen this problem, too. The workaround for me is to just click the rewind button as its playing. The turn restarts a plays correctly. I associated it with larger turns, not uptime of my computer, but anything's possible. Zipper
  6. We're plodding along. I'm making good progress with Ozzie in Head for the Hills. Hobo has suffered some hardware problems, but should be back shortly. I can't wait to end Fire on the Mountain with him - what a nightmare. I-Man and I are also closing to the finish of St. Mere Eglise... I'm sure we still have a number of weeks to go at our pace. Zipper
  7. If that's the only source of the rumor, don't be too worried at this point. I stopped trusting that site after catching them in an outright lie about Java 1.2 on OS X a couple years ago or so. Zipper
  8. 30. But, I had my midlife crisis, early, last year so I bought a Porsche. Zipper [ July 29, 2002, 06:38 PM: Message edited by: Zipper ]
  9. I'm pretty sure it will apply to infantry. I remember Steve saying how rarity will solve the problem of too many SMG units in one of the many SMG threads. Zipper
  10. Oops. I knew I was playing Ozzie now, honest! Just 'cause I looked at the old file doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. Really. Just ask any of my opponents... ...on the other hand, you better not. Good night. Zipper
  11. Tourney III, Sec 4... Only in contact with Hobo for my remaining 3 games. Haven't heard from I Man or f1shlips in over a week now. Zipper
  12. Jeez, John, what do you mean by "progressing very well"? I don't want to read too much into that! I'll assume you're speaking of the pace. Zipper
  13. Attention, Tourney III, Sec 4! I've been slow to respond as I've transited from New York to Chicago to Seattle to Vancouver. I'm home now and even over my jet lag. Stay tuned for turns. Zipper
  14. What a testament to this game that someone who thinks they'll win 100% of their games still plays it. If I had a game that I won all the time, I would drop it and find another (harder) one. Zipper
