  1. I was playing a mission against the computer and the tactical AI keeps unbuttoning my tanks and armored cars after I button them all down. Any ideas about how I can prevent them from opening back up? Are they unbuttoning because Im moving them? THX
  2. Thanks for your help, i searched for the ATI connection on the board and found nothing clear. . .but i need to know if this $79 ATI 32 bit is going to be worth it or if i need to spend $200 on a Voodoo 5 or geforce. Could somebody please give me a straight answer????
  3. I heard that Big Time has totally gone out of business and that they're burning all their files in oil drums in anticipation of the Red Army entering their offices. . .I heard that Madmatt married his mistress, shot himself and had his favorite dog Blondie killed--then had his followers burn his body with gasoline. His best friend, Peng, committed suicide along with his family and children. Are these rumors true? Say it ain't so!!! I AM TOTALLY SURE THAT THERE WILL NOT BE A SEQUEL--TOTALLY SURE--REPEAT, TOTALLY SURE!!! ------------------ This is difference between the American and the Japanese point of view in World War II Japanese: "We'll kill you even if we have to run into you to do it" Americans: "We'll kill you, and we don't even have to run into you to do it."
  4. I had alot of problems with this movie, most of which revolve around pacing. Since the director realized that he had a bloodfest on his hand once he had filmed the most exciting parts of the movie, he decided to back off and augment the love story/kid story/political moral aspect. This part of the story was all jammed into the middle of the movie. So much more could have been done to reflect the misery and other characteristics of the historical setting, but instead of saying "we're dirty and miserable" it said, "we're dirty and starving but were happy and OK". These are the signs of a true Hollywood movie. You have to accept them if you want to get all of the great visuals and special effects. Despite these issues, the movie was actually pretty good, because it seemed well researched and LOOKED good. But if your a general, why would you take time off to take a shower in an area that was 'secured' only seconds before? ------------------ This is difference between the American and the Japanese point of view in World War II Japanese: "We'll kill you even if we have to run into you to do it" Americans: "We'll kill you, and we don't even have to run into you to do it."
  5. I realize that these questions may be very hard to answer, but I would appreciate any input that you have on the subject I've played CM on three different computers comp 1: 400 or so, no extra video card. 64 ram. this is my own computer This produces practically no tracer fire, no shockwaves and small explosions. This only supports the first video setting. The game is playable, but only until you've seen it on a better computer. comp 2: newer Dell machine (550-600), with standard onboard video. 128 ram This produces a much more playable game, but still dont see fully 3d modeled (like hexagonal shockwaves rather than spherical ones) explosions. This computer supports the second video setting (800x600?) comp 3: custom made 1000 with 32 bit video, 512 ram This computer produces a satisfiyingly playable game where you can see every squad firing at every other squad and there are air and ground mortar bursts, fully modeled explosions, grenades, etc. This computer supports the third video mode (1024x800) So, I want to buy a computer that produces the same kind of quality game as my friend's (#3) (cost 6 mos. ago $2700) custom made computer, but for less than $1000. I already have the quote, here is what I have planned (ill only tell you what matters for playing games, not the peripherals) 128 meg ram 17" kds .27 monitor Athlon Iwill 900 proc. ATI 2000 32 bit video (cost only $79) My questions: Will this computer that i've designed support the third (1024x800) video mode? If you don't know, How can i find out? Is support of that video mode (1024x800) the only qualification needed to produce the best quality graphic rendering, or are there other qualities that i need to consider besides what i've set out? If I play THIS GAME with the ATI video card/KDS monitor will it fall FAR SHORT of what I can expect from a 19" .25 monitor or a much more high end video card? What would you choose to spend more money on first? Which other specific card (keep $ very much in mind plz) would you suggest? I realize that these questions are very subjective and difficult to answer, but if you guys could help me build my ECONOMY SUPER-CM PLATFORM i would appreciate it. (Has anyone else bought a new computer just to play this game at the highest quality video? ? ------------------ This is difference between the American and the Japanese point of view in World War II Japanese: "We'll kill you even if we have to run into you to do it" Americans: "We'll kill you, and we don't even have to run into you to do it."
  6. I too saw a beaming review of this game in Kenzer Co.s KOTD. While many of my friends pooh-pooh the demo, I say go ahead because they're buying 1-2 games a month and never seem to be playing the same ones when I go over there the next time. Oh well, they can build up there "games I'll someday play" pile for yrs.--gimme me CMBO anyday! ------------------ This is difference between the American and the Japanese point of view in World War II Japanese: "We'll kill you even if we have to run into you to do it" Americans: "We'll kill you, and we don't even have to run into you to do it."
  7. Thanks for your SWIFT replies and explanations--I'm ready to join and had ordered the game before I posted. Actually, Uncle Sam is the one to thank, cause when you dont make much he gives you a bunch back!!! He fixed my car and bought me CMBO. Thanks too to the guys at Kenzer Co. for suggesting this game in KOTD!! Their reviews are a great way of giving props to those who deserve it. Gamers are not dorks, we are the wave of the future! The Desert Fox idea seems really frikkin cool--plz keep me posted on its progress. Actually, for a while I had some reservations about this game (for the first like, 30 min) But now I cant seem to stop playing or thinking about it. . .I can see why you want to give them your money. As soon as I have the game in my hands i'll be "ready" to challenge whoever wants some of this small-half-tracked-motorcycle. My e-mail is Jeffbo3494@aol.com and if you e-mail me it makes it a lot easier to remember your name for future challenges. 8. First question, Is there an expansion planned for this game? I've heard about a Russian Front idea. Will this be a stand alone costing the full $45 dollars or will it be a scenario/skins pak that is less? Next, can one create random-map point-buy scenarios and then play against the AI? Or is this only possible aganst human multiplayers? I have a relatively slow computer with no 3-d card. If I can run the demo, will the main game be usefully more effective on my computer? Finally, when I add skins, mods, or scenarios to my natively installed version of this game is there a good chance that they will corrupt it? What user problems have been experienced with these net add-ons? Can they be turned on/off? Are there more vehicles/troops on the internet or just new skins for the base ones? Please answer my questions--and i'm very intersting in joining your net-community.
