  1. With all these CMBB preview threads and reports, the one common denominator (aside from the coolness of CMBB) is the undisclosed game feature(s) that nobody is allowed to talk about. Some hints have been dropped that it isn't full game movie replay, and that it doesn't directly affect game play.

So, what is it? WHAT IS BFC HIDING?!?

My own unorganized thoughts, in no particular order (hey, I said they were unorganized!):

    Spreadsheets/databases of unit info

Full-motion video of Madmatt as a German tanker

    Special introduction by Stephen Ambrose

Unit citations/awards based on scenario performance

Full-motion video of Madmatt as a Soviet general

A "behind the scenes" video montage of "the making of CMBB" to the tune of "Oops, I did it again"

Those cool penetration charts that everyone loves

Full-motion video of Madmatt as a ski-equipped Sissi

Special occasion building textures (Reichstag, Tractor Works, etc.)

A cameo of John Cleese dressed as Sir Lancelot

Full-motion video of Mace and... never mind. ;)

So, how about it? What do YOU think it is that people aren't allowed to talk about?

Erm. Have you not been reading this forum for the past month or so? ;)

That's a Sweet looking PzIIIM. With forward 3D smoke dischargers no less! But (yes - you knew it was coming smile.gif ) the track cuts through the front sprocket a bit much.

The covered arc command is going to replace the ambush command. For AT capable units (such as AT guns and vehicles) there's even a covered arc command specifically for armor. These arcs can be posted out as far as you can see. While none of these covered arcs is geared towards a weapon's specific capabilities, your longer range weapons will engage out to the range you set the covered arc for...

Is the maximum/minimum engagement range user-selectable?</font>

And, needless to say, larger modules work even better. My current champion is a 105 FO who, with a single round, took out three (!) Hellcats. The round hit right at the edge of some trees, got a treeburst, and killed all three of the TDs nearby.

Yes, this was against a live opponent. It was even in a tourney. tongue.gif

    TOURNEY I, Section 3:

I've emailed Cogust. He has 48 hours to respond or he is relieved of command.

    Treeburst155 out.

Treeburst, I've just received a setup and returned same from Easy-V. Still no joy on GeneralSV, though. :(

The other three games are all progressing nicely, except for my X that just got bushwhacked by Y.

  6. Just a quick status report while waiting for turns from everybody...

Jeb told me he was going to be gone today, so he has an excuse. We're into turn 3 or 4 in our game.

Cuzn and I have started our game; I'm waiting for him to send me the next turn.

Easy V has offered a restart, and I've accepted, but he has has yet to send me his setup file.

Heavy Drop has also agreed to a restart, and I've sent him the setup file.

I've also sent a setup file out to GeneralSV, but haven't heard a single word from him yet.

GeneralSV, let me know if you want to do TCP/IP on ours. It looks like the scenario is of a very reasonable size, unlike some other ones [*cough* fire on the mountain *cough*]

  7. Regarding swept-back wings, I seem to recall reading that the Me262's wings were originally swept back due to center-of-gravity issues - I want to say that the original design was a tail-dragger, but when it was changed to a tricycle landing gear the wings were swept back to ensure that the nose had more weight than the tail to facilitate the new landing gear configuration. Am I completely out to lunch?
