  1. Having the same problem with 29.42's. I can alt-tab the black screen then reopen and all is well, except I have to do it on each opening screen. Without AA it appears to work fine.
  2. "Ahh come on. How can you call a movie about Waterloo that doesn't have single Prussian soldier in it a great movie! Waterloo the movie is a typical Anglicised version of history that completely neglects the largest army in the field (Prussian!) during the 100 day campaign. Garbage! Phoowee!" There are two versions of the movie the original about 5-6 hours long contains the battle of ligny and plenty of Prussians. The shortend version definitly cut the Prussians and most of Ligny out. But who cares it was all about Napoleon for me! [ August 20, 2002, 01:16 AM: Message edited by: Big-Joe ]
  3. I can't believe no one mentioned 'The Winter War'. It is a excellent film made in Finnland, availible through Belle and Blade. The T-26's and wave attacks are fairly well represented, as is the life of a Finnish soldier being subjected to endless barrages, A must see!! Also not WW2 but 'Waterloo' with Rod Stieger as Napoleon was the greatest war film ever! And 'Stalingrad,Dogs do you want to live forever' Is alot better than Stalingrad. I believe the latter is a remake.
  4. Believe it or not, my nieghbor owned a sherman M4A2. The gun assembly was removed as were the MG(s). He put a solid steel T-Bar in the turret and used it for demo work. If I remember correctly it had a GM 12cyl. diesel engine.I believe Ford produced the M4A3 model using a V8 gas engine. I have some fond memories riding on it as a child, though I never got to drive it!
  5. Mike,I never could take too much of EF&EF2 games they just seemed to dry for my taste.I gave CC3 a try and was dissapointed with the A.I. It turned quickly into a turkey shoot with well placed AT's and the tanks! well that engine is still troubled, it would suit the close qaurter combat of the jungle much better. P.S. I'm not countin boardgames I know AH and the like covered it well. I think a N.Africa game would be a nice change. Would really love to see one that started in the late 20's Tanks vs. Cav!
  6. I started with Tactics 2. But Loved Ambush! I also played Typhoon of Steel on the Commodre 64, Over run, Witch came 1st?
  7. Well its been a long year, I've been coming to this forum Just about everyday since last may. I was never able to post much due to the fact I was hospitalized most of that time and had limited use of my right side(thank goodness for the boy helping me). I spent most of this week downloading all the Mods I can find, Must say there are some truly gifted people out there keep up the work! I also got as many Scenarios as I could I now Know what the fuss is over at TGN man its slow! Wild Bill I am very much looking forward to finally playing some of your stuff and it looks like the raiders have grown a bit. I played my first TCPIP last night and wow thats something I could do all the time. I also been reading about G.I. Combat and I think its good to finally see some attempts to Match CM. I however am a little burnt out on the west front its time people learned about other theaters i myself would love to see a sqaud level pacific game based on the CM engine. I am however eagerly awaiting the release of CM2 The russian front is another overlooked theater especially in the U.S. Well enough ramblin I'm going Mod huntin! Big Joe
