No, you are okay. When you download and add any mods that are assigned to these rulesets, the rules files will be added. Try MikeyD's beautiful KV2. Once loaded you will find it under the Tanksi tab and ruleset.Originally posted by Erwin Rommel:I just downloaded the CMMOS rulesets and mods from CMHQ.However 3 of the rulesets have no rules files only a credits.rtf file and an info.txt file..Is this normal or did someone forget to put the rule files in the zips..I am new to this so I dont know to much. These are the rulesets that seem to be missing the rule files..I tried downloading 3 times to make sure that the download did not screw up but still same thing.

Man, where to start? I have been away on sabbatical, meditating on all things Cess.
How is it possible that Texas actually has lawyers?
Is dalem truly a hippie? Or was that picture his girlfriend?
What exactly is a Boo Radley? I am not exactly scared.
Why, oh why, does Joe Shaw, my former liege, like that Agua Perdido so much? Is it the latin lover thing?
And what the heck is OGSF really saying?
And when I return, what do I find? Legends brought to life, rumours made true! Meeks has returned! And made King?!?! Of the MBT??!?!? How could this be? Where was the Justicar? (Oh, yeah, the latin lover thing...). I find it unfathomable that anyone would bend knee to another member of Cess (ooops, forgot Bauhaus is back also; well the rest of you at least).
I see, at least, that my fellow Ohioan, Boo Radley is speaking against this travesty.
Know this Joe, should you need succor (no Bauhaus, look it up), Ohio stands with you!!

One thought with the release of CMMOS 4.0. Could you include a flag and sort for CMMOS compatible mods? In other words, when posting a mod, the author identifies it as CMMOS compatible and one can sort on this field in the sortable screen.
Thanks,

Thank you both for the quick answer. I love the functionality of CMMOS and want to make sure that I can use it as my primary modding tool.Originally posted by Old Dog:Speedbump, one of the new things in 4.0 is the ability of modders to "write themselves into" an existing ruleset. They write a "rule" to do this, which is normally packaged with the mod, and CMMOS 4.0 automatically installs the rule into the ruleset when the user installs the mod.
With the old CMMOS, a modder could do a CMMOS mod, but it wouldn't be useable until the rulesets were updated by Gordon. See how he has been plotting his retirement all along?
As far as new rulesets (tabs in CMMOS), anyone can write those too, instructions are with 4.0. As I understand it though, Gordon still wants to be involved with CMMOS to the extent of coordinating issuance of rule numbers for mods and new CMMOS tab rulesets, so as to avoid a "collision" between 2 modders using the same rule or ruleset number.
Release of CMMOS mods can be done anywhere - Mr. Noobie already has released an update to one of his CMMOS mods on the CM Mod Database.

Gordon, {bolded out of Cesspool reflex}, your efforts are greatly appreciated. I have one question, and because I am the typical American - refusing to read the instructions, when other mod authors make their work CMMOS compatible how do the rulesets get updated? Will the author need to provide 2 zips, 1 ruleset and 1 modfiles? Will they be maintained at CMHQ? Okay more than one question, so shoot me...Originally posted by Gordon:It's really up to the modders and the gamers to determine what topics CMMOS covers. So, get lobbying for Terrain and I'm sure it will be covered. Cry loudly enough for racing stripes on Italian AFVs and somebody will do it.
Gordon
Thanks!

One solution, that works for me, that I haven't seen posted here is the right-mouse-click option. Scroll over the link, right-mouse-click, choose "save target as", select destination and hit okay. This works everytime for me. I did not have to adjust my options, I have no accelerator, I go through a firewall etc. Please note that when I click on the link, I get the same error page that everyone is also getting.
The only downside is that I can only download one mod at a time. No problem here.

But not from a Knight of the Cess. What's the matter, afraid you'll drop to Hiram or Speedbump's level of play?

Gentlemen..{Hack, cough...gasp},
A quick note to inform everyone of the brutal dispatch of one dalem. Attacking, in an early war scenario, with the advantage of T-34's, he succumbed to the massed might of my little red wagons with guns. Somehow, my motley gathering of armored cars, pre-war Czech tanks, and PzIII's send his godless hordes of T-34's running...or should I say the crews.
Oh, did I mention that my company of defending infantry literally never raised their heads? I think they fell asleep sometime around turn 4.

CMMOS "TProgressBar" Error!
in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Posted
If there is no error listed, it must be a program bug (sorry Gordon, you have done a tremendous job). If this is the case, all I can suggest is what you already figured out. Close it down and restart. That tended to work for me.
If my memory serves, both situations occured for me. In the first case, I was able to correct the rule file. And in the second, it just worked the second time I tried after restarting.
Sorry I could not be more help.
