  1. Buy it. I got it and it took 7 working days to arrive (Toronto) and no duty was charged (it was marked $5 value and a gift ). I'v brought many games, some cheap, some expensive but this is by far the best for the money T. P.S. Any customs official who might be on this forum... disreguard the post.
  2. It's bad before you even get the full game. I played the demo and ordered the game (after just one demo game ) and had to wait the painfull weeks wait to get it (Canada). Well Monday comes around and I'v woken up late (work doesn't mind too much) scrambling to get ready (not a morning person.. not a monday person) and I hear this big plop of the mail. Sure anough I look around and I see CM sitting on the floor... AND I HAVE TO GO TO WORK!!!! So I do a simpson's 'doh', open the package and take the manual with me to read on the subway Here's to a long and fruitfull addiction! T.
  3. Hehe I'v order CM and waiting for it to arrive (damn customs) and just caught the last half of Kelly's Heros on TV. I had seen it before but a long time ago. Sooooo... I want a sherman commander named Oddball!!!!!! So hoping you can edit the names being used in the game. Can you? Thanks T.
  4. Yeah, remember it's a game. If you forget this you have to put into question many other forms of 'combat' which you see in sports. Football, boxing, hockey... everyone cheers the big hit or the crushing punch even though it's people on the receiving end. When you look it this way CM far removed as you're not even talking about real people. T.
  5. Just want to say I just played the demo and was blown away... WOW. I'v been war gaming for 20 years (from the old C-64) and nothing has had this big an impact So my question.... I saw at CombatHQ (that CM site, yes I was looking for tactical hints ) in a game between two people they were posting 'movies' of the rounds. I assume that this is just a recording of the 60 second round which you can play on your CM game. Is there any way, if you save movies from all your rounds, to link them together into one 30 minute (for 30 rounds) movie. Just thought it would be really cool to see the whole battle play like WWII film footage. Also. Trying to reply on the sherman and sandbag post but my message is not showing up? Bug? Thanks T.
  6. There was a mention of spaced armour. As far as I know it was used against HESH (High Explosive Squash Head) rounds. These guys would flatten out on impact and then explode sending a large shockwave through the armour to flake off metal on the inside of the tank causing damage and death but never actually penetrating the armour. The space in the armour would disrupt the shockwave. T.
  7. Some talk of spaced armour came up. As far as I know it was used against HESH rounds (high explosive squash head) which were designed to hit, flatten out on impact and explode sending a large shockwave through the hull to flake off metal on the inside of the tank thus causing damage and death but never actually penetrated. A space built into the armour would mostly stop this shockwave. T.
  8. Just played the demo and I'v got to say I'm blow away.. it's great. Just wondering, I'v seen on Combat HQ (yes looking for tips ) on the 'action game' they have movies of the battle turns two people are playing. I'm assuming that these are 'movies' of how the 60 second rounds ran. If this is correct is there a way to join up all the movies together to get a full battle into one movie. It would be amazing to watch a whole game replay for 30 minutes. T.
