  1. I agree with the post saying CM is a sanitized and sophisticated game of chess. I always find it funny when the hardcore grognards whine about "gamey" tactics. If you could use "gamey" tactics to win a war in real life, you would.
  2. I've seen interviews from from vets on spr. They said it was pretty realistic. I'll take their word for it over some of us computer wargamers.
  3. As for version 1.05 I dont think it matters for internet play. May not be completely necessary to playother people.
  4. Look for the combat mission public executable file. Might be cm_public.exe. I think you run that and then to actually play on the internet do the start, run, c:\combatmissionpublicbeta.exe. I'm not real good with this stuff either (as you can tell). The executable file is different then the one you normally use to play combat mission. If you got version 1.05 to work your on the right track it's just finding the different publicbeta.exe command to use. good luck I hope this helps.
  5. I used the run and browse command and found the beta executable file. Since the patch is in beta you can't run tcp/ip game with the regular command mission startup file. Mine is c:\combat\combatmissionpublicbeta.exe. or something. good luck hope this helps.
  6. I've been searching all over this website for the tcp ip patch? If anyone can email it to me do so at randerson5@triad.rr.com I've got version 1.05 and I understand their is a version 1.1 beta but where? Thanks a bunch for any info or the patch itself. ralista
