  1. Hi, During a QB game against the AI today I ran across something that brought up a few questions in my mind. A German (Enemy) 44 Squad had been spotted in a small patch of Tall Pines about 250 meters away from my MG Nest in rubble which was on a nice sized hill. The German 44 Squad made the ill advised decision of making a push across open ground towards the MG Nest unsupported! There goes that Squad I thought as I watched my .50 Cal tear it to pieces. After running a few meters under fire and losing 1/3 of the units men it turned tail and hiked all the way back to the trees for refuge. After reaching the tall pines I previously ordered my Halftrack (Which was supporting my Right Flank) to advance on the unit and continue to grind it down to pieces, I even had one of my Rifle squads gunning em down not to far from them. Without hesitation the German Squad threw down its arms and raised the white flag, they surrendered. I wasnt surprised and began to call back my forces and divert their attention to other enemy units. Throught the next turn the Captured Squad put down their hands and my guys creamed on em again, they put their hands back up, my men face other advancing troops, the Captured squad again lowers their hands, again my men pound on them until they raise their hands. This pursued for another 5 turns or so until the Captured unit finally fled further into the small patch of trees. What factors in the game cause units to surrender and to remain captured during the game? Is it possible for a unit to remain captured once it surrenders? Can the captured unit pick up their firearms again and be thrown back into battle? Any response would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  2. Kind of old topic but wanted to see if anyone has blown up an enemy halftrack with their own halftrack, I'm not talking about just knocking it out but have it blown to smithereens. I watched the replay over and over again and couldnt believe that a measley halftrack could blow up another. Has anyone else done this? 3. Hi, It's been a while since I last posted a message here, just want to say that I've been spending alot of time with CM and am trying to ignore this problem I have. I was just wondering though, would disabling the Touchpad (if its possible) help me with this problem? I've noticed that this problem has happened alot to Laptop users which all have some sort of touchpad (I presume). TIA. -Mo
  4. First of all you have to upload the picture you took onto the internet somehow, like uploading it into your website (if you have one) or an online shoebox or something that you can store files in online. Then you must know the address your file was saved to online (http://www.blahblah.com/images/blahblah) get the idea? Then you simply put this in your next post
  5. Hello, I've noticed after seeing a lot of screenshots that the smoke is translucent and you can partially still see through it. However on my game I cannot see through the smoke, it's just there and totally blocks my view of whatever is behind it. Do you have to have a 3D card to view translucent smoke/effects? Is there an option I overlooked? -MoJo
  6. Thanks Rob, I didnt mean posting up a message on the board though, just on your website. I just updated the site and have another helmet without a Camo Net, check it out if you have the time, thanks. 7. Outstanding work Tiger! Looks really nice. Hope to see more mods from you soon! -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  8. I usually spend most of my time playing CMBO or surfing the net for CMBO related sites. But there are times when I feel like strapping myself into an F4U and blazing some Zekes outta the sky in CFS2 (Love the Smoketrails on that game!) I have the same problem with my limited time and all, so I usually end up wasting most of it debating on which game to play... -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  9. I was playing a scenario which had a Platoon of Engineers with some support (1 AT Team, 1 .50 Cal, and a MG Jeep with an M8 as a reinforcement if I remember correctly) to stop an enemy probe or something of the sort. Was alot of fun (sorry for not stating the scenario name, I will post it up later on) They mustve tooled around with the Bazooka Team (since I only had 1 team) and gave it more ammo. -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  10. I've used some of your strategies you guys gave me and things turned out pretty well. Seems like you need them to get pretty close for a sure hit, no further than a 100 meters it seems. Here's a link to see a screenshot in a good ambush position for a Zook. PhotoLink Thanks for all your help! -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten [This message has been edited by MoJo (edited 01-03-2001).]
  11. Hi, Since I was currently one of these PBEM Quitters I'd like to state that its not always their fault. I recently had PC problems which kept me from my PBEM opponent as well as CM itself and am sure that others had these kind of problems as well. I am very sorry for this inconvenience to my PBEM opponent Ezmartini (Please check your email!). -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  12. After reading your reply I began an immediate search for my Boot Disk. I didnt find that but I found a Recovery CD which deletes everything and installs everything it had when it came out of the factory. Why didnt I think of this before instead of wasting a whole week in misery! I dunno but I'm just glad it works now and everything is ok. I appreciate your help towards me and others who are having problems. -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  13. Hi all, I just thought I'd ask how to uninstall windows from DOS, I've already tried to reinstall my Win98 and each and every time my screen resolution is stuck on 640x480 and on 16-bit colors, settings which won't allow me to play CM!!!! I just recieved my copy a few days ago and havnt even played it once so I'm in complete AGONY. So if you have any ideas or know how to uninstall windows from DOS I'd GLADLY appreciate it! Thanks. -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  14. The manufacturer is based on VIA, I have 2 of these listings under the Device Listings: -VIA Tech VT82C686 PCI to ISA bridge -VIA Tech VT82C686 Power Management Controller. As for the moust it is made by Targus. This is what I have under the mouse listing: -HID-compliant mouse and a Touchpad (I doubt that you can upgrade that). The whole problem might be involved with DirectX 8? I think that might be it because some of my older games that use DX6 will not work with DX8 (Wonder why that is). I'm going to reinstall windows and see if that helps any. Does that DirectX uninstaller actually work and does it uninstall DX8? Just want to clarify this. Thank you so much for your help Schrullenhaft! -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  15. WOW I really want to thank you for scouting around for me! Really appreciate it! I have DirectX 8 and I use a USB mouse but I dont know if it is Logitech or not (Could that be the problem?) Also I am playing on a Laptop which might effect certain games. And since DirectX 8.0 is installed into the Windows system files that means I can't delete it and reinstall an earlier version of DX without reinstalling windows (or at least thats what a friend of mine has told me). I will download the latest video driver though and see if that works. THANK YOU once again! -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  16. I have a -Compaq Presario 1400T -Windows 98 Second Edition -500 MGHZ -64 Megs RAM -Trident Cyberblade i1 AGP (Video Card) and am on -16 Bit Colors Anything else?
  17. Hi all, I have the CM Demo 1.02V and every screen (Menu Screens, etc) seems to be frozen when I make a selection and am forced to move the mouse over another option or the Ok button, then the correct selection highlights. Does this happen in the full version, I hope not! It is really frustrating and it would be nice to know that this glitch only seems to be on the Demo. -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  18. Just found out that you have to open up the PBEM games with the .txt extension not the .cmb like I thought it was. So everything is ok and I will proceed as planned, youll get the file by tomorrow morning. Good Luck! -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  19. It looks like an American soldier to me, so Im guessing its an American Bazooka team?(Kinda hard to tell with only his head and half his body sticking out from the ground) And how many guesses do we get or is it just whoever hits it first is winner? -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  20. I recieved the file Thanks!, And I do have an account with MSN Messenger as well as yahoo. Just add me to the buddies list and I'll do the same. In the meantime I'll be plotting out my moves on the PBEM. See you soon! -Mo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  21. A good way to take out a bunk is to smoke it up like Supertanker said and shoot the heck out of it with your armor. Whenever I take out bunks I just fire at them from the front and more than likely a shot or two and the shells find their way into the tiny gap and take out either the crew or the gun or both. I didnt even know that you could bust down the door and take it out that way! Ill have to try that. -MoJo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
  22. Hey EZ, Please check your email, the file was sent to me in .txt format! -MoJo
  23. Ok, Valley of Trouble it is. I think that youre a better player since it seems your a hot shot at this scenario (9 KIA ONLY!) Sp I'm the Germans, Youre the Allies, and were doing the Valley of Trouble Mission. Fine with me. You are first up so I'll be awaiting your email at Onliner2@msn.com And the PBEM games are saved in the PBEM folder inside the Combat Mission directory. Good Luck! -MoJo ------------------ "For every soldier that died at Dieppe, ten were saved on D-Day" --Lord Louis Mountbatten
