I've noticed some people on here have been posting for more than a year, and I wanted to start a little competition. I can't believe some people have over a thousand posts. If you think you have one of the highest posts, please reply to this.

Same thing happened to me. In Vot, I was the Allies. The defender (name anonymous for his sake) took out my vet Sherman, but then I got the one AT pillbox of his. After this happened (the third turn, I think), my opponent just split, no replying to e-mails, no word why. Unfortunately, I am not involved in a ladder because I didn't get the full game for Christmas , so I can't report it or anything.

twelve men = 1 squad 3 squads + Lt. = rifle platoon 3 rifle platoons + 1 weapons platoon = 1 rifle company 3 rifle companies + 1 Hvy. Weapons platoon = 1 rifle battalion three rifle battalions + one AT company + 1 cannon company + service company + HQ = 1 regiment 3 infantry regiments + 3 arty battalions + recon troop + engy battalion + medic battalion = 1 infantry division A corps was composed of a variable number of divisions, and an army was made up of a variable number of corps. there was a great article on infantry tactics, I think on CombatHQ (could someone tell me how to make links on this forum please? ). It explained that when your tank, one big complex machine, gets hit and non-functional, it stays that way. While some of your squadmen (12 "complex machines") go down, the remaining ones still function. You may decrease in firepower, but your team is still useful.

I can't take you up on the offer, but I suggest you go to the Opponent Finder forum to look for a PBEM game.

I don't think the sneak command should be changed, but a hunt command be added. I use sneak many times when move uncontacted from scattered tree to scattered tree. The move to contact command should be separate.

I HAVE the gold demo, but I want to play the scenarios on the beta demo. Do I have to download the beta demo, because the .cmb files are in the Scenarios folder, but no response is in the game. i just want to know if I can play reisber and last defence on the gold demo.

I would have to agree with Mr. Clark (John Clark I presume). If you have ever played Shogun: Total War, you really get a feel for how vital the tactics Sun Tzu inscribed are. It doesn't actually sound as interesting as the first two (though i loved them). The developers, Black Isle and Bioware, are making some changes that I don't like, such as scrapping the story for more action-based gameplay (hence the subtitle 'Tactics'). C'mon guys, the story was the best part of the first two! Now let's just be careless and throw it away! OK, I have the .cmb's, and I put them in the Scenarios folder, but they dont show up on my scenario list! Don't tell me I have to download the original beta demo. And compassion, I already got the demos, so you don't gotta send them. Thanks anyways though. Compassion, I would love to have that scenario (how big?) If these files are small, you cand send it (and last defense). I really appreciate the gift.

I had the same problem when I tried to learn something like that too. By trying to read in-depth books as you mentioned, it seemed to fry my brain worse than schoolwork. The easiest (and best) way for me was by searching for semi-specific things through this forum. Before CM and the forums, I had no knowledge on WWII tactics, history, ore weaponry (Sherman? Firefly? What the ..?) I still don't know all I want to, but that's because there is SO MUCH to learn that it takes mucho tiempo. At first, I found it semi-challenging, but now I can toast both sides, though I am better as the Allies. I've kind of perfected this and VoT because they're the only demo ones available.

I have searched what seems like an eternity to find this reisberg demo i keep hearing about. I have searched these forums and about 20 pages on the webring, but came up with squat. I've heard people talk about it but no links popped up or anything, so I am moving to my last resort and re-asking the question: Where can I get the demo? Also, is there an online manual that BTS or another webring site has put on? I find Wild Bill's page to be informative, but i need to know some crucial basics too. i was searching for it, and everyone said there were sharpshooters in it. I really want to try them out, but couldn't find a link to download. I was hoping someone could tell me where to find it.

how about you got to the Opponent Finder forum. There are lots more people who multiplay there.
