  1. Thanks, I am a huge Myth fan. You should get the wwI verdun plugin. It is great
  2. The scenario that spawned this discussion was actually just a test. I created a large farm map with snow, and hills. On one end I placed 10 arty spotters, a king tiger, three mg pillboxes, a quad 20mm, a single 20, and a howitzer. On the opposing allied side I placed mostly infantry, in the heavy range. Something like 1000 infantry, machine guns, mortars. The terrain had only sparse cover, some buildings etc... I was testing the effectiveness of diff. arty types. After testing I played as the axis, and unloaded everything at once, after two-three minutes there wasnt much of a force left. Now I am playing as the allies, and it is quite fun to try to take this crest. The scenario is thus: The axis hold this crest with alot of arty support, some mg's some flak etc... the allies are attacking with a massive infantry push. So far I have destroyed one flank of the axis, but my casualties are atrocious. It is alot of fun, completely un-historical, but fun nonetheless.
  3. My manual is gone, I left it at the beach (pretty pathetic when you take a manual and read it like a book) in Florida last week. Flame me, etc... but please tell me where to get a new one.
  4. wow i was actually just kidding. Would it be gamey to drop behind enemy lines and dress up like the enemy and then confuse them?
  5. I want a OTTO Skorenzy commando unit in CM2, or a mini-game called, "the wild and wacky adventures of everybody's favorite commando, otto"
  6. Wow, thanks for your insights into these considerations. I guess using tanks as fixed turret/emplacements is a valid strat? Or would that be considered gamey?
  7. What is the frequency of bogging down versus the weight of a vehicle? It seems that whenever I use a King Tiger in a snowy condition, it inevitably gets "bogged down". There were no roads to put it on in this scenario.
  8. www.terraserver.com check it out, they're watching you!
  9. I think you could get a demo at www.dailyradar.com I think I remember a demo available from them. Good luck
  10. I called out sick yesterday, which for the most part I was. But I still got in a six hour CMBO session (2 campaigns).
  11. Get Myth II for cheap, and then download the WWI mod, I guarantee you will love it. Best physics engine ever.
  12. I have the V5500 AGP running on a PII 300, with 234mb Ram. My OS was WIN98, but I recently upgraded to WIN2000PRO, and surprisingly I have had very few issues. The barrell of my machine guns are white, and the barrell of one of my tank models appeared white also. Any patch available for this?
  13. This game sucks Because now the blinds of ignorance have been lifted from my eyes, and every other game I liked before doesnt have the same draw to me anymore. I love you BTS/No I Hate You!
  14. true dat, doesnt matter because I dont have the system to play it anyways.
  15. go to the site www.feldgrau.com and read the stories in the section titled "kameraden". There is an interesting interview etc... with a vet of the grossdeutchland division who was slammed by a Joseph Stalin tank, and survived. Have fun.
  16. http://www.dailyradar.com/reviews/game_review_1222.html After reading this, I think I will wait for the bargain bin.
  17. I am looking for any information regarding the past of a relative that served in the German command during WWII, possibly even the SS. His familiar name is Willie Kalienke (not Wilhelm) but it may have been truncated from Willie Kalienke Von Valcenshten, Falkenstein not sure yet of the exact spelling, but the phonetic pronunciation is FAL-KIN-SHTEEN. He lived in Kiel (Kiehl?) Germany and served aboard one of Hitler's yachts. We also know of a picture of him in a Time Life book in the back of some sort of state vehicle in a black leather coat. No other pictures of him exist that I know of, his wife burned all known photos of him at the end of the war for obvious reasons. Willie was in Czech. or Romania (Rumania) when captured by the Soviets, and sent to Siberia whereupon he returned home spent, from torture (so the story goes). From what we know after the war he pretty much sat in a chair and didnt move, or really talk alot. If any member of this community could point us in the right direction, or help us determine his rank etc...anything would be priceless to us in learning about past. Please email me any additional info that you might think helpful to scooleen@hotmail.com This is not a hoax or a joke Thank you!
  18. I got booted from the CG for a skin thing similar to excema. The CG is under the DOT, but in times of war it is under the DOD, and that is where this rule stemmed from. Consequently there was one Medal of Honor given to a duck in WW2, I beleive in the PTO. My recruiter was an ahole also.
  19. Thanks for all of your help. I am certainly gonna keep my money in my wallet, in fact i spent it on Baldurs Gate II.
  20. AND if you want to resolve the IP address of someone else's domain, go into dos, and type tracert and then the name of the web site. For example: tracert www.battlefront.com The result for me was 216.15.156.162 TCP/IP is fun
