I'd like to know how long it takes to play the smallest scenerio in this game. Thanks in advance.

I just completed a QB, May 44. I played Soviets against German AI. (800pt Soviet attack). Anyways, I laid down a nice smoke screen to advance my units. My right wing consisted of 2 platoons of T-34s and 1 platoon of T-70s. My left wing was 2 rifle platoons and 1 pioneer platoon with 3 LMGs. My tanks were caught out in the open by a 75mm At gun in a bunker; I lost 3 T34s and 1 T70, before I could change their approach. Eventually lost a tactical defeat. Anybody have recommendations to take out a 75 mm AT gun in a bunker from 400 plus metres? [ January 04, 2003, 11:43 AM: Message edited by: malthoff ]

Just ordered Seatons: "Russo-German War". I like the way he writes. Thinking of getting Alan Clarks; "Barbarossa".

I have just read his book; "The Battle for Moscow", a great read. He did another book; "Russo-German War". Any comments from the Grogs. Thanks in advance.

SATYR. Your advice paid off. The last QB I played , the Pioneer platoon I bought destroyed 4 AFV s, (3 Valentines). I was to aggressive with my 2 Flamers and they were wiped out by turn 6. Managed a minor victory, giving the Soviets a plus 10% in forces in an 800 point meeting engagement.

Thanks Panther.

I play meeting engagements, 800 points, within the time frame of jun 41- mar 42. When playing the Germans, I've had great difficulty knocking out KV s. In one battle, I manouvered 4 Stg s to flank attack 1 KV; result was 4 knocked out Stg's. I know an 88 can knock out a KV, but this weapon is immobile and therefore not the best choice in meeting engagements. Can anyone suggest a particuliar unit that has a fair chance to knock out a KV for the given time period?

Parabellum...thanks...you have your s**t together

My understanding is that every Wehrmacht infantry division had an AT battalion attached to it. In early to mid 44, what would be the average number of AT guns in a battalion? Thanks in advance.

Nippy’s guide to fun and enjoyable Quick Battles.

Some good ideas Nippy. Any tank above a 37mm should be disallowed. I play a lot of QB s with 800 pts, 20 turns, and have had a lot of fun. -
Laphroigh...I probably have the spelling wrong. I dont drink much scotch. Prefer a good Mosel wine. Cheers!!

I just completed a QB as Soviets. My 2 81mm Soviet Arty spotters were way off the mark. This was a March 44 scenerio,(veteran spotters). All the shells dropped 150-200m to the left. Some of those shells wiped out a Soviet Platoon I carefully moved into an assault position..Is there no justice...

If you live in a big city, i would go to a used book store and try to find an old copy. I live in Toronto and found a copy in no time. However, i seemed to have lost it. Doohhhhhhh!!! -
Can anyone direct me to a web site that has pictures of Soviet Generals. Thanks in advance.

I know the Soviets produced KV tanks in Lenningrad; in what other cities did they manufacture them?

Being a Canadian, with Irish,Scots, and German background- I'll drink anything before a game. But a cheap German Riesling is good-right out of the bottle, or Jamieson Irish Whiskey. If I ve got money, I ll buy a good German Riesling(QMP-Spatlese,Auslese).
