  1. Although the AI typically performs poorly in the role of the attacker, you may find it helpful to "leave a trail of breadcrumbs".

Either use some of the victory flags you already have, or add a few more small ones. Set them in a line (no more than a couple hundred meters apart) along the most likely avenue of German advance.

This creates a trail for them to follow to the major objective flags. I've found this greatly increases the chance of convincing the AI enemy to advance in force.

Try it and see if it helps.

  2. Well, it's not available or complete yet, and is a project I was working on for some friends. Four other gents I play PBEM's with and I have for some time been creating made to order QB maps for one another to play dbl blind games. A while back, my dance card started to dry up because my droogs frequently wanted to play on my maps. And the rule was, of course, if you made a map you couldn't play on it for fairness' sake. Two of my friends, feeling bad for getting to play, play, play while I mapped, mapped, mapped asked me to record my thought process when making a map for custom QB's (or any map, actually).

I thought it daunting at first, but have had quite a bit of fun doing it. I was just looking for signs of interest to decide whether to release it to the people at large.

It'll be done shortly (completion is about 65% currently), and since somebody is interested, I'll put it up at DFDR.net for download. I'll also send it to anyone else who'd like to post it on their site. (Manx for sure, though, he might like it for the Workshop).

And like I said, anyone with their own tips or advice, post it here and I'll try to squeeze it in!

  4. Well, although the angle of the photo may be a bit dodgey (by about 15 deg.), the Storch Fi 156 C-3/Trop. (desert/tropical package with dust filters and the like & produced between '40-'42) could be fitted with a heel-button actuated single, double, or even triple exposure belly camera.

Although the wheels typically would not have been visible unless the cam. was misaligned (a common occurence that, along with the cameras very limited exposure capability and it's lack of consistent funtionality led to the systems abandonment after a handful were produced). But I'm chalking that up to creative license.

Did Rommel have one at the battle for Benghazi (or at anytime for that matter)? Probably not. Is it a fun and interesting way to provide a player with some visual recon? I hope so.
