Although the AI typically performs poorly in the role of the attacker, you may find it helpful to "leave a trail of breadcrumbs".
Either use some of the victory flags you already have, or add a few more small ones. Set them in a line (no more than a couple hundred meters apart) along the most likely avenue of German advance.
This creates a trail for them to follow to the major objective flags. I've found this greatly increases the chance of convincing the AI enemy to advance in force.
Try it and see if it helps.

A very valuable service!
Our hits always spike immediately following an FO (uh, sorry, CMHQ) news blurb.
I visit some of the sites due only to the news coverage you post.
Keep up the good work.

Good lookin' stuff!
Great work Mojo!

Agreeing with Firefly and PL.
I use a 32mb Creative Nvidia TNT2 and it cost about $70 (where I'm at).
Never had any issues with it and it smokes on all four of the games you mentioned. Rogue Spear runs top-notch at 1024x768 with this card!

A great idea!
And since CM2 will also model the general physical fitness of your troops (July CGM, pg. 60), the debilitating effects of harsh Russian winters and food shortages could be tracked as well.
grand fun.

Come on you goons. Give me your mapping tips or I'll... I'll... ah hell, I don't know.

If the mods you download are already .zip files (which most of them are), just drop them in the cmbo/Mods directory (don't unzip them!) that was created when you installed the ModManager.
Then run ModManager, turn the mods on with a click, and hit the 'install' button.
Play.
Hope this helps.

Way to go Abbott,
I happen to be working on an HTML "new mapper's guide" of sorts, entitled Mapper's Friend.
It will not only introduce newbies to the editor and it's functions, but delve into the balancing and aesthetics of a map.
-
Or like this:
1. install TwoShed's ModManager.
2. place the DFDR.zip in the Mods folder.
3. run ModManager and turn the mod on.
4. play.
just a thought.

M.Dorosh,
I'll see what I can do to clean up the place!
(the downloads section that is).

Ah yes, waterways that obviously have names like "Ol' bumpy" or "Lake Staircase". Isn't that unsightly?

Well, it's not available or complete yet, and is a project I was working on for some friends. Four other gents I play PBEM's with and I have for some time been creating made to order QB maps for one another to play dbl blind games. A while back, my dance card started to dry up because my droogs frequently wanted to play on my maps. And the rule was, of course, if you made a map you couldn't play on it for fairness' sake. Two of my friends, feeling bad for getting to play, play, play while I mapped, mapped, mapped asked me to record my thought process when making a map for custom QB's (or any map, actually).
I thought it daunting at first, but have had quite a bit of fun doing it. I was just looking for signs of interest to decide whether to release it to the people at large.
It'll be done shortly (completion is about 65% currently), and since somebody is interested, I'll put it up at DFDR.net for download. I'll also send it to anyone else who'd like to post it on their site. (Manx for sure, though, he might like it for the Workshop).
And like I said, anyone with their own tips or advice, post it here and I'll try to squeeze it in!

A look at the rapidly changing and growing 'Mappers Friend', a compilation of tips for map makers with an eye toward aesthetics. Here are a few screen captures...
If you'd like to contribute your own map making tips (since more than half of Mapper's Friend is info stolen from these forums), please do so!

Thanks Cyrano!

My my my, faux-pas!
I did indeed mislabel said Churchill's.
Hey, shouldn't you be working on that desert insignia affiliate site instead of hangin' around bustin' my balls?

These goodies will all be up soon at DFDR.
Keep an eye out for their appearance.
Here's a look at some Allied armor by Aussiejeff. Spiffy as usual...
And another one of Jeff's, the PzII Lynx...
Then we have Max's latest offering, a slick UC...
A new set of DAK armor from Jakob Kryger...
Next we have 2 Churchill variants from Gordon...
And finally, a compilation of tips for map makers with an eye toward aesthetics. Here are a few screen captures...

Well, although the angle of the photo may be a bit dodgey (by about 15 deg.), the Storch Fi 156 C-3/Trop. (desert/tropical package with dust filters and the like & produced between '40-'42) could be fitted with a heel-button actuated single, double, or even triple exposure belly camera.
Although the wheels typically would not have been visible unless the cam. was misaligned (a common occurence that, along with the cameras very limited exposure capability and it's lack of consistent funtionality led to the systems abandonment after a handful were produced). But I'm chalking that up to creative license.
Did Rommel have one at the battle for Benghazi (or at anytime for that matter)? Probably not. Is it a fun and interesting way to provide a player with some visual recon? I hope so.

This happened last night to Forward Observer as well. It linked to a 'Latino Search 2001' boy model site. ...creepy.

Gamey? Hell no! That's a clean kill if ever there was one.
