  1. Care should be taken though. Know when to cancel an arc (I’ve had some troops get slaughtered because I failed to remove the arc). I’ve also missed an ambush when a tank rolled into my arc, but then rolled out of it just before he acquired. The troops started taking fire and didn’t launch his munitions—but it appeared as if he lost interest in the tank once it exited the arc.

Had there been a column of tanks, that would have been a good result (maybe). In this instance, I lost a chance at a kill.

  2. The patch on Wednesday!!!!! But I want it now!!!!

Shuddup ya whiners. Since I started playing games in this series my attention has not been diverted to ANY other games (other than MS Train Sim for my train nut kid!). And will not be until the ENGINE RE-WRITE IS DONE!!!! My desire for it is transcended (in the short term) by my desire for the EXTENDED VERSION OF THE TWO TOWERS!!!

To each his own, but my original CDs sit with my marriage license, bonds, and other junk in the fire resistant case.

(Actually, my CMBO CD was a backup from BTS because the aforementioned train nut kid took the CMBO CD and it has been nary seen since!!!! And BTS sent that backup on THEIR DIME!!!!)

  3. I'm certain this has been brought up before, but after working a hunter/killer team within slinging distance of a pesky KV-1 over 15 turns...

...and watching the brave trooper sling his munitions at the tank...

...and knock it out, I really wanted a little more than a "hit". I don't know what in particular, but I watched the KO three times and each time felt the same amount of dissatisfaction with such a perfunctory declaration: "Hit".

(snip) The manual is purposefully designed to not get into such details. For better or worse, we want the players to learn for themselves what works and what doesn't.

AHA ALL IS REVEALED! CMBB is one of those puzzle games! Never was much good at them myself,I've been stuck in The Hobbit on the Spectrum for the past 20 years!Hope I can figger out CMBB a lot quicker than that!</font>
  5. Haven't seen your issues, Mr. LFool.

I must say Steve is right about paying attention to what the TacAI does against your commands. I lost three AFVs in 1 turn thinking I knew how the battle should go against what I thought was a pushover AFV with exposed flank.

Fortunately, the TacAI pulled the another three AFVs well out of LOS of the offending vehicle and preserved at least the semblence of my right flank.

  6. I'm having comp problems so my disk is yet unused, though I am plowing through the manual.

Haven't gotten to the part about arty adjustment-- but I will pay VERY close attention when I get to it. Please clarify for me.

If the rounds (beyond the spotting round) come in way off target, me, the user with mouse, needs to move the line a little bit to get the rounds to fall on target?

What's the blinking point of that? I bought fricking the spotter and he's supposed to do that work for me in the game!!!

When my tanks miss I don't go back over to them and retarget a line that is on target so they get the idea I want them to hit the target I've already targeted them to hit? Or should I be doing that?
