  1. 3. CM: Shock Force 2. Our return to modern warfare is long overdue! Given how close Shock Force 1 was at predicting a conventional conflict in Syria, we're a little nervous about choosing a topic this time around. Especially because we've chosen to simulate a full spectrum conventional conflict between NATO and Russia in the Ukraine. This gives players a rich tactical environment to explore with the most advanced militaries the world has ever seen. Having said that, we hope the politicians aren't insane enough to try it for real. Even thought this is great stuff for a game, it's the last thing this world needs in real life.
I would have prefered to see your predictions far away from reallity...

May I propose to switch the scenario of CMSF II to something more exotic. Shall we say the invasion of Pitcairn Islands?

  2. That's something I notice frequently...and yes, I'm aware that the mapdesigner could do something against this, too.

Anyway, I often notice that walls between two adjacent houses have windows, sometimes even balconies. The only realistic thing that you will find are doors...even in Europe. Wouldn't it be a good idea to hardcode this out?

  3. Firing a recoilless weapon with something behind you - a room, a wall, a comrade, your own arse - is not a good idea because of the burning gas that comes out of the back end.

Of course this has been done in reality and should be possible to simulate in game...it 'just' would be necessary to adjust the program to a) possibly hurt the firing soldier and B) ignite the house.

  4. You suspect incorrectly. Infantry close assaulting tanks are assumed to be using such devices. The visual representation of them lobbing grenades is an abstraction, as is the decrement of the ammo count for that weapon.
I've though about this, too. I can't help, it feels wrong for several reasons...
  5. Japanzer-sama,

excuse my long silence, I was busy with other stuff. Program works now without error messages for me, at least when I use CMBN V1.0! In 1.1, conducktinmappin runs in the background, but no changes are made in the map editor. Maybe it's becaue I have to run 1.1 in admin mode (windows 7).

While the map is transfered with good results, there is just another problem that I have noticed: elevations are transferred very poorly. I can offer some demo files if needed

  6. Sorry, I forgot to reset the sleep value.

I have sometimes(once per 40-50 testing?) seen it that the status window is not on the top screen.

I think display over full screen game is breakable.

    New version 1.02h

    * The elevation problem fixed

I have made an alternative plan.

The part that reads the number of the next "Direct:xx", has been set to advanced configulation.

This makes users restart the editor when user resumes, because CMBN sets always the Elevation level to 20.

    I'm hoping it goes well.

Okay, it seems to be working now! I will run a full test as soon as I have more time, I'm very bussy at the moment!

  7. Firstly I had problem, since you set the sleep value to 0.5. I changed it to 0 to start the script.

Something important that I noticed in your video: I can't see the status window in the editor when the script is running - but for some reason I have it on the screenshots.

About your questions - yes the smaller map cells are chosen. When I tested a normal map, all terrain is set correctly as far as I can say.

On the eveluation screen, the mouse pointer selects 'Direct' and eveluation setting starts to count up...and doesn't stop. To me it looks like the script is caught in a program loop.

In which line of the script are we at that point, I would like to take a look on it.

  8. Scipio,

    Thanks for your mail.

    I saw the screenshot.

CMBN doesn't display the Elavation mode.

There is another bad point. The map scale is not smallest. CMBN Ediotr seems not to be able to click smoothly.

    What is your sleep value?

Too low sleep may cause the system busy of CMBN editor, the freeze, and skip some click process.

Please confirm your sleep value. If you changed it, undo it or use original script.

If you run any video capture like fraps, stop it. It requires heavy CPU power.

No fraps or similiar, and I use v1.02c as you have posted it above without any changes. I don't know where the sleep value is set, is it public weight=1??
