Is that a typo? If it's $5 US, it should be $120 Canadian. If it's $6 Canadian, they should pay me $23 to read it.Originally posted by Olaf:The magazine costs $5 US and $6 Canadian.

Fraps has been around quite awhile and is primarily used to test video drivers, graphic settings, options, etc. in games to get the best tradeoff of frames per second versus eye candy. It is used extensively in combat flight sims, where your frames per second is crucial.Originally posted by Maj Soshtokovich:Not sure what the value of this program is.
Prehaps someone could shed light??
The screen capture ability was recently introduced to Fraps (a couple of sub-versions ago).

Only you would think of cooking that way!Originally posted by Bruno Weiss:Hot diggidy damn! Now we're cooking with phospherous. Outstanding work, simply outstanding.
(NICE mods too! *grin*)

Is the rest of the review prone to understatement?Originally posted by aka_tom_w:if this is your sort of thing, this game will have an obscenely long lifespan.

It's not there yet! *argh* (and here I am in the middle of installing a bunch mods)

Ah yes, I remember back in the dark ages where the more enlightened personages around here had that same problem? (bad compact diskages)Originally posted by Michael Dorosh:As for a 40 minute install, the guy sounds like an utter twit. Took me about 10 minutes - wonder what kind of crappy-ass low end system he's using.
As for the rest of the review, I can understand his point of view. I don't agree with it, but I can understand it.
Hmm, second glance "X Interface still rather clumsy" ...can't even understand that part.
Are you guys really made because he didn't like the shockwaves from CMBO?

Perhaps you're looking at it all wrong. Did BTS ever say the AI was a "he?" If you look at like my/your/their wife is buying the units, it makes a lot more sense. (After many years, you start to see a consistancy to the inconsistancy of what they do)Originally posted by BlackVoid:At most he buys

I went to the East Coast once! (That's JUST like being on the East Front from what I could tell!)

Whoo hoo! Got the strategy guide today. As long as you evil Canadians haven't got it through your customs yet, I stand a chance for world domination! (well, of something like BC anyways)

Any idea of the cost for treatment? *grin* (and can we sue Gordon for damages?)Originally posted by Sgt_Kelly:I hear a wing is being added to the Betty Ford center for Mod addicts...

Are you sure that wasn't Intercontinentia Buttocks? Whoops! ...she was married to Biggus Dickus. Never mind Centurion, I'll throw myself to the floor.Originally posted by MikeyD:Don't go mistaking Socratic for Sarcastic (no doubt named for Socrate's shrewish wife Sarcasta )

Some units are heavily armored in some areas and bare in others. Your goal is to shoot them in the area where they are bare, to more effectively get rid of it."
That does sound funny until you remember the "English as a second language" thingmie. (trade "bare" for something like "thinner" or "lightly" and it works. Hmmm, I wonder if he got his English/xxxxx dictionary from Monty Python? "I would like to sleep with your fish")

The more I think about this, I've come to the conclusion this is crappy news from Steve.

It's the pits isn't it?Originally posted by Michael emrys:I don't know what you guys think is so great. Personally, I'm all down in the dumps over this announcement.

I beg to differ. I think CMBB is a wargame, which is a bird of a much different feather.Originally posted by Le Tondu:One thing that I keep harping on here is that CMBB is a game. I do that because folks seem to forget it.
Your comments are all valid if one accepts your premise that CMBB is indeed a (mere) game. Where they lose validity is when they are applied to a wargame.Originally posted by Le Tondu:The entire point for a game is to have fun...
(If I hadn't been up all night, I'd dig out an out of print book called "sorcerers and soldiers" which gives a nice overview of the history of wargaming... essentially it was developed to simulate, rather than to entertain)
(edited for a typo... told you I'd been up all night *grin*)

Case Maple: (AKA: Plan B) Wipe all Canadians off the face of the CMBB Earth!!!! (It'll take them MONTHS, if not years to get a picture book through customs and they will all be anihilated by then!)

Crap! Another flaw in my CMBB world domination master plan!Originally posted by laxx:you can read but you still have to comprehend the stuff....

I just ordered the strategy guide. I'll become so invincible, my local opponent will probably cower in fear and refuse to play anymore. Thus forcing me to join one of your ladders and wipe all of you off the face of the earth.
Crap! ...what if all of you order it too?
As Emily Lutella says... "Never mind."

No Bill, you said 640k! (and we'll never let you forget it! *grin*)Originally posted by Hurricane:And I thought 64Kb should be enough for everyone.

Damn pixies and nymphs are always getting underfoot in this game! BTS, pleasefix or do somefink, pixies' and nymphs' rarities are skewed well beyond real world values!Originally posted by JadamoW:This in turn pisses off the pixies and nymphs who will obligingly point out your troops to any aircraft that happen by.
