    just have an easter egg where you press SHIFT-CTRL H and the GIs become gerbils and the Germans become the Borg.

    ...green immobilized panzer IV with one damaged machine gun when you got 2 bazooka teams in front and 1 to the side, a Priest engaging it off the other side, and infantry running up to it with rifle grenades?

    well, it blew away the priest, used it's mortar to frighten or chase away the infantry squad, pinned a bazooka team in front, and the one to the side missed at relatively close range with it's last round.(i think it was about 1.5-2 tank lengths away) all my zooks eventually ran out of ammo.

    finally i gathered every single squad and engaged it at close range and they took it out with a shot to the side turrent...

    this, after being hit by 2 priest rounds, 2 bazooka hits at an angle to the side and multiple grenades underneath from the squads.

    that crew was lucky the game ended on turn 20/30 or i would've blown them away in my momentary frustration.

    not my best game, lost 10 priests against 4 panzers and a gun, although i leveled most of the german village.(love those SP's)

    my massed green allied troops scared the not so massed green germans off.

    allied minor victory.

    thanks for the info and comments! So quick too, just pop the message out and 20 minutes later, already there are post!

    a great class, we even get to distribute how our individual grades are weighted(35% final, x% essay, Y% section/recitation)

    plus the prof really is interested in how WWII is shown in films. he showcases film almost every week and his topics included a bunch of films.

    maybe the tracer size can be an option...nice thick ones when u pretend its sci-fi colonial moarines vs alien nazis...er, not that i pretend that. Or thin ones to sim real life.(were they thin?)

    I so wanted to this at first but decided that since I only played PC games and only actually own one(guess which), that it would be more of a pain than a joy.

    Instead:

    M7B1 HMC Priest- Whaddup

    sp artillery is bad -ssed. according to 'citizen soldiers' at aachen, one german commander said the use of them to knock down points of resistence and buildings should be outlawed.

    plus, one shot from a 155mm could either destroy a pillbox or stun the germans inside(1 per pillbox).

    also, the priest carried armor rounds, just in case a tank came up

    Sewers in towns

    How often were sewers used in urban combat? And is this unreasonable to model in CM?

    I read in Stephen Ambrose's book that the GI's sealed all the manhole covers in Aachen because the Germans used them for counterattacks.

    they used a pavlov response to train them...

    dogs were fed by putting food under tanks.

    may not have been the best weapon, but the germans were nervous enough to shoot any dogs they saw.

    hate to post on my own but rant must continue...

    okay, so my priest refused to destroy the ten feet away stug, which my platoon hq ran right up to and immobilized with a grenade(!). so i make the priest hunt forward so it might take out that immobilized stug. then a half-track pops up and the priest nails it. but the explosion somehow:

    1-knocks out the priest

    2-only immobilized the halftrack???!

    3-leaves the stug without any obvious new damage

    i guess that's why the priest didn't want to shoot the stug, but in this little engagement, my priest dealt most of the damage to itself it seems...

    cripes, just how much backblast does a 155mm howitzer have?

    Most Hits on a Pershing...ever?

    I played 5000 worth of Super Pershings against Tigers. The Pershings had a field day. I never saw so many ricchocets off an Allied tank in a game or so many burning Tigers.

    Anyway I didn't notice the column of 10 Tigers & Panthers in the nearby village. So one of my Pershings got hit in the tracks and gun and was stopped dead. Five of the 10 Tigers and Panthers started using the Pershing as target practice.

    [A lot of yellow targeting lines on that one Pershing]

    Anyway it took 41 frontal hits from 88mm guns before the crew broke and ran and then the game ended. [Was this smart of them? Some armor flaking happened but they suffered no causaulties until two of them got machine-gunned running for cover.]

    Why was the 88mm no good against the Pershing? I got 21 Tigers and Panthers and lost only 5 Pershings in that Quick Battle(aka Great Village Tiger Shoot)

    And has anyone ever had a tank take more hits or am I a record holder?
