  1. The firefight have ceased, corpses are lying everywhere and tanks are burning. Survivors are licking their wounds. For now, the war is over. I remain to wait another assignments as I have now finished my tour of duty. Only few reports must be made for my CO, Generalissimus Treeburst155 ;)

Yes, I have finished all games. It was fun. It was great. It was exciting. It was pain and suffering!

Thanks for all who made this tournament possible. and BTW, is it wine tasting in my mouth...? ;)

    cheers,

    Juha

  2. About the partisans: There was a document shown in Finnish TV a while ago, and they interviewed old russian man who had destroyed a "garrison" and killed all enemy "soldiers" and had received a ton of medals for that (he had his uniform on, and his chest was literally FULL of medals). He didn't show any kind of regret, he actually was proud what he had done. It really pissed me off. I hope (although I am an atheist) that there will some day be somekind of tribunal that rewards his actions for what they were. Pure monstrosities.

It could be the last all finnish tournament . Think about it, how many finns will agree to play the russians? Maybe its time for BFC to rethink about implementing an option where you can play against the same side. smile.gif

  5. Ok this is serious. I have finished following games:

    - Fire on the mountain with The Capt

    - Another day with JonS

    - St Mere Eglise with Diceman

With Von Lucke (Polish push)the game is in the halfway and with Saport (Head for the hills)we have about eight minutes left. BUT I haven't got a turn for about 48 hours and I am getting severe symptoms of serious CMBO addiction. You know what they are if You have them!

So please, Saport and von Lucke: SEND ME A TURN! please please please... :D

Has anybody heard from Von Lucke or Saport? Been awhile for me.

Rest of the games are progressing well.

A pox on the Fire on the Mountain Designer..French troops, wicked terrain..it is my worst nightmare come true!!

Well actually Silent Night in RoW I is still my worst but FoM is a close second.

    The_Capt,

I haven't got a turn from von Lucke for a week. I just started a game with Saport, so he is active. And please don't whine about Fire on the mountain - You'r doing way too good...and allied have all those toys to play with..waaah my huns wanna have some of those too... :D

  7. Attention!

Today begins the celebration of midnight sun here in Finland. Therefore, at my fronts, there will be a brief cease fire. Hostilities will continue again monday however(presuming I am not a part of sad statisticks conserning the midnight sun - many will die again, swimming during heavy consumption of alcohol. Or in another kind of accidents). Sauna will be hot and beer will be cool. Oh, and there will again be a peak in birth rates because of the midnight sun or "Juhannus" like we call it. :D

  9. Attention T1/sec4: I just want to make sure You have files from me? In my books everybody ows me a turn, but I an't be sure because I'm on a ZfD3 course in different town and staying in a hotel. My access to net is limited and I play with my laptop (works fine btw) but emails may cause some trouble so please let me know if You haven't got a turn from me. I Haven't got anything back from JonS for several days, I hope everything is OK. Gotta say this is some fine entertainment for boring night in hotel (can't go to the course with headache...)

    regards, Juha

  10. Hi John!

Do not panic, the man isn't "Goliath" (except in real life ;) )He just uses enough time to analyze different moves and solutions in CM. Yes, he prefers German side, and knows how to use them. He doesn't use any gamey methods, though. He uses the super-ugly grid terrain mod which makes it easier observe the differences in terrain elevations. You might want to ask tips from Jarmo, I believe he gave some serial punishment to Ari in Invitational. I can't say if there is any Achilles heel, but some times his liking of Krupp steel makes his infantry little few in numbers. His style is quite cautious, he prefers not to take big risks. And if possible he makes a testing scenario of his own to see possible outcome from some action he is thinking to try. Even when winning, he doesn't get cocky but remains cautious. And he have learned many things during those tournamets he have played, and I believe so have You. One thing (if living in same time zone) to get him off balance is constantly harass him by email or phone to sent next turn soon and add some rude insults ;) (Well I do that to him anyways...) He doesn't like to play in a hurry, he wants to take his time. He also have very good knowledge of WWII and own tons of books about it. I'd say he is quite fond of the subject (as am I).

Finally, since Ari probably reads this too in some point - turn on Your freakin cellphone man!

You must mean "the Aftermath" where You played the Axis? Here is some statistics from Nordic warriors:

    Scenario [ The_Aftermath ] medians [ 41.25 58.75 ]

(allied on the left, Axis on the right obviously)

Whose that "overwhelmingly superior one" force was again? :D

But feel free to be satisfied with Yourself... ;)
