  1. I have got some questions about the series: - I recommend to play the scenarios in order. - #3 is huge, if you think it's too large you can skip it, it's not decisive battle. I just wanted to make one larger scale battle. - I'm making more battles. If you want to be beta tester send me email (address is in profile) Please, send feedback. Are scenarios too small, too long, too hard, boring, ... ? Matti
  2. I'm making a series of battles. It covers the battles around Vuosalmi and Äyräpää villages on the last two weeks of the Winter War, 1st - 13th of March 1940. Finnish 2nd Division was defending Vuoksi riverline, it was the last line of defence. Russians made continuous attempts to breakthrough with four divisions, strong artillery barrages and air attacks. Weak Finnish forces managed barely to hold the line until the peace on March 13th. The first six battles (from 1st to 5th of March) are available from The Scenario Depot. VC-1-Cemetery VC-2-Counter Attack VC-3-Wave after Wave VC-4-Islands VC-5-Church Hill VC-6-Too Late Matti
  3. Thanks for your update. Could you email me ( matti_vesanen@hotmail.com ) your last save? It's hard get playtest feedback because the operation is so big.
  4. I have made two Winter War scenarios: Making Motti Breaking Motti Both are 30+ turns long and best played as Finland against AI. They should be available at The Scenario Depot soon. During the Winter War Soviet Union made several attacks into forested wilderness of central Finland. Usually a whole motorized division advanced along a single narrow road through endless forests. When the division was stopped at Finnish roadblock, there was no space for flanking manoeuvre. There was no other possibilty but to stop the whole column and wait until the roadblock was cleared. The Finns did move light ski troops through forest to the enemy flanks and made local attacks to cut the long Russian column into small isolated pieces called "motti". This fictional scenario describes such operation.
  5. Yes, it's a problem. I put there few sissi squads with satchel charges. You could also fire on vision slits with AT-rifles and AT-guns. The bunkers were hard to destroy in real life too. When the Näätäoja line eventually broke it took hours to clear all russian dugouts.
  6. I'm interested. Send me an email and let's think about it.
  7. The operation is now available at The Scenario Depot The overall scale is abour one regiment/side, but reserves arrive gradually.
  8. I'm making a small fictional scenario about destruction of Russian motti. Finns have encircled and starved a small Russian detachment. Now it is time to take out the weakened troops. About one battalion/side forest, snow, night, freezing 35 turns or until Russians surrender I have playtested it against computer, briefings are not ready yet. Mail me if you want to playtest.
  9. Add landsverk anti to that list and I'm happy too. As noted before, those babies saw frontline action as much as the rest of the armoured forces in general.</font>
  10. I have made a huge 11 battle historical operation. It's a Finnish assault against a fortified Soviet line on summer 1941. Email to me if you want to get it. Title: Näätäoja Type: Finnish assault operation (Historical) Date: July 17th, 1941 Time: 0700 hrs Location: Karelia, north of Lake Ladoga Region: Finland Weather: Clear, Dry and Warm Battles: 4 days, 2 battles/day (nights not playable) Turns: 30+ turns/battle Background: On the north of lake Ladoga the Finnish Karelian Army began it's offensive on 10th of July 1941. The objectives were to reach the northern shore of lake Ladoga and advance to east to the old border. In the middle sector 5th Division advanced fast to SE. Recon battalion Kev.Os.4 (light infantry detachment 4) covered 70km in 5 days. On July 15th they arrived at Näätäoja where they met enemy in fortified positions. On the next day reserves were called to replace light recon forces and to make a breakthrough so that the advance to east could continue. This followed 12 day long continuous battle in which both sides suffered heavy losses. Historical: 2 player or Human Finland vs. Soviet AI The map is based on 1:20000 topographic map (printed 1939). 12. NWT results were interesting, our difference would have been 7 points. But I hope you beat them in the final, it would give some bragging rights to me and DrAlimantado. Hauskaa Vappua!
